  • Haha commander with low Psi-Strength, gotta love when you find it out the hard way :d.

  • It´s typical the gods only know how many good games get canned this way!

  • thumbs up if ure exited about the new x-com coming out!!

  • X-com was originally a multinational bunch of soldiers... French, Russian Japanese. This SUX .. they must have hired US male only soldiers from Iraq or something??

    And graphics way low tech.

  • @martine3214 you do know how old this game is......

  • @ubernagash .... Umm sorry I did not know how old it was.. but the graphics reminded me of a game called "Fragile alliance" if anyone knows that you will understand the era I'm on about. If that is so then this is actually a terrific piece of video. I still would prefer some obvious multi national tint to it.

One thing I find odd.. is he talks about looking out for extra terrestrials... kind of an obvious and silly comment.. the sort of thing you see in poorly made action movies.

  • @martine3214 aye but at least it not as bad as a tommy wiseau monalog ;)

  • @ubernagash I don't know this.... you'll have me searching for that now... nothing beats a treasure hunt for fun :-) Cheers dude.

  • @martine3214 you wont a reall laugh google nostalgia critic The Room you be choaking with laughter he does reviews on some bad movies funny as hell, ooh and your welcome ;)

  • Respond to this video... ohhhh come on ! your lying! I did not hit you! your tearing me apart! LOL...

I had no idea this famous line had so many piss takes.... priceless.

    Thanks for the education.

  • @martine3214 no worrys, for me its on the Roof top after the bland monalog of not hitter her hes say "Ho hi tony"

  • @DmdWasserTanzt O rly?

  • First rule of xcom...never separate your squad dumbasses...

  • is this an older game or something

  • This would have been so awesome... An updated Space Hulk set in the X-COM Universe is what the franchise needs now, in fact.

  • Hey Red I don't know what happened I just woke up but I think I saw a Grey and for some reason my ass hurts. Oh god they probed me them bustards ROTFL. Why is it always some back woods town boy getting probed by Aliens in there ass would it be more logical if Aliens were real that they would like to get a intelligent human that can read and write and be able to dissects there brain not there ass lol.

  • @christophersteal Then there woulden't be any ufo sightings in the us. Ufo would go to europe instead.

  • fecking hated the Sectoid's psyic powers cheap gits always used it on my power suit troopers

  • @ZipotheThird

    @ words: Psychic decoy....

  • guard the pot!

  • 0:18 Ramirez, take sector 5!

  • 2K just announced a new X-Com FPS \:D/

  • PSI POWER'S!!!

  • I liked this intro. Not going to get into the xcom fiasko talkin' but I really liked that mind rape effect ^^ along with that crazy music.

  • JOHNSON!

  • was that a sectopod, ethreal and a friggin chrysalid? XD

  • Sectoid, sectopod, chrysalid, and ethereal, in that order.

    I think.

  • SUCH a shame it was cancelled... but at least we get to see them Sectoid scumbags again in this vid.

  • @TotallyAnnihilated Yeah I loved killing those big headed little freaks.

  • how the hell u have the intro if the game was cancelled?

  • The game intro was likely released for previews in magazines before the game got cancelled

  • oo u know why they cancelled it?

  • Simply, there just wasn't the interest. The X-com games just weren't making the money they used to, despite splitting into new genres like Interceptor and Enforcer (Ugh). As anyone who knows the industry for the last 10 years knows, orginality and quality mean nothing to the publishers, if they don't make the wonga back for them

  • Are you kidding? UFO enemy unknown and X-COM terror from the deep have fairly good artistic direction, and kind of seem like those B grade 1980's alien invasion movies. Every other x-com since has been like a 10 year old designed plot, characters, and setting. Seriously, look at the combat armor for X-com Apocalypse. I think I drew that on the side of my notepad once when I was in grade 7. Bleh.

  • I'd say the art direction on the later X-com games was more inspired by 1950's/60's sci-fi, rather than 80's. I actually enjoyed X-Com Interceptor, but Enforcer was just wrong, soooooo wrong

  • UFO:EXTRATERRESTRIALS is a remake of x-com defence also known as (ufo enemy unown)

  • whats up with the whole "let only one man go alone everywhere" thing about? seems kinda dumb to me being 5 guys spliting up in 5 groups xD

  • Well, if you've ever played x-com, you'd know that what happens when you get a big group of guys together is that a psionic enemy will take control of one of them, guaranteeing point-blank shots on roughly two of your troops, and forcing you to kill the controlled one, assuming it didn't just drop a grenade.

    You're down to two.

After that, they know your position, and it's easy to send down a blaster- a rocket with programmable waypoints- to target your remaining troops.

    The game hates you.

  • You can get the X-Com Package, covering all of the Games, from STEAM for $14 or so... and they work with XP/2000.

    Peace!

    -BA

  • wow, as an x-com fn and a fps fan the fact this ws cncelled gets me twice as upset ¬¬...

  • A long LONG time ago it was the plan to make a prequel to UFO Enemy Unknown in the first person. It would have state of the art graphics, awesome tension and realistic extras like FEAR LEVELS, where some members of your squad would cry, scream, run etc... unfortenately, something went wrong, and we ended up with ...X-Com : Enforcer.

  • a real shame, a prequel would have been awesome

  • that games screenshots looked so good, nearly cried when it was cancelled..

  • oh hay guyz lets all split up and explore hostile territory alone rather than utilize tactics or strength in numbers

oh shit man down how could this have happened

  • roflmao

  • POW HAHA

  • you say that nao.

WON'T BE SO FUNNEH WHEN THEY RUSH YOU.

  • sounds like every multiplayer game i've played ever

  • @vortex1991 lol, classic. the acid in the hydration unit prank. {seen the new x-com?

    or...the one that made it to release?}

  • @vortex1991 I was just saying that to myself, what happen to the damn buddy system! What happen to squad TACTICS, bring in a real swat cop or a an experienced veteran to advise and you'll have awesome games.

  • @vortex1991 did you play the first x-com? me i always send 2 to 4 rooky explore alone seperatly and when they find something they try to clear it and if they fail i send the rest of the team, the pro but if a rooky survive then he is no longer a rooky :P

call it the first day test XD

  • does anyone know where i can get a working version of X-com for my PC. I have vista. Cant find it anywhere. plz help.

  • Still Looking for X-Com UFO Defensive? I´m playing it on Vista.

  • The entire series is available on Steam, and that one should work on Vista. It's got a pretty nice price tag too.

  • Damn,.. I never played any of the X-com games, did I miss out on much?

  • You sure did. The original 'UFO: Enemy Unknown' is considered one of the greatest games of all time by most websites and magazines.

  • when x-com:enemy unknown first came out it was the most interesting, thrilling, and scary game out there...it just ran your imagination wild! alot of people still play it today, and online

but the only good xcom, was the first one... all the orthers strayed away from the orignal theme...

I had high hopes in xcom alliance but it just wasnt the same..

  • err, not alliance, but the orther one... forget the name

  • Is there a demo, or is it freeware?

[Amoung the very first pc games I ever played were Hocus Pocus and lemmings. I started to play Doom and as soon as I played Quake I was addicted to the FPS genre]

  • Xcom: Terror from the deep?

  • MY god its X-com enemy unknown or X-com Ufo defense that was the first one ever made Enemy unknown being the european title and Ufo defense the american title for the game

  • Apocalypse?

    The first three games were:

#1: UFO: Enemy Unknown / X-COM: UFO Defence

#2: X-COM: Terror From the Deep

    #3: X-COM: Apocalypse

Just a note for the FPS fans, these are all squad based tactical firefights mixed with some base-building, resource budgetting and personnel management.

Only Alliance was an FPS, and not a very popular one.

  • I think it would have worked out if they could. Take a hint form the guys that made America's Amry. And you could have everyone play x-com team member. And from the point of view from you Pc the other team will always be the emeny. That would have what out just fine.

  • I would have looked forward to the implementation of psychic powers and fighting the Etherals

  • I remember this intro... man I wish this game was released... It would have been awesome to fight in the chryssailds in a FPS!

  • yeah though we would probably die the first time without plasma weapons xD

    X__X

  • thank you for upload!
