@GFRFan12 This is absolutely false. You need to watch Living Legends Mark Farner on the breakup of Grand Funk and you will hear from the horses mouth why is not with them anymore. They tricked him into giving up his rights. Absolutely horrible story. I feel so bad for Farner Don Brewer is a real piece of garbage.

@TheMr360elite This is Don Brewer ! He SINGS the original version ! Also , he does the drumming and he wrote it ! They really dont need Mark for this song... Dons just getting a little older and doesnt sound as strong as he once did.
@47tooter I beg your pardon.....Mark Farner's footprint is all over this song....Brewer rushed this thru publishing before the album was even finished.....Yet Mark came up with the cowbell/drum roll intro and lowered the key from E to D so Don could sing it...And Farner's harmony to Brewer's growl makes this anthem complete...Mark carried GFR musically and lyrically and his shadow will always follow this cover band........"Don't need Mark" my ass!
I wish they could make amends, whatever it was that split them..and Mark return to the band. They are so, so good and this was probably the best rock n rock song ever recorded..well in my humble opinion :)
Ever notice how anyone who covers this might and I emphasize "might"...get the bass, guitar and keys more or less right ? But no one does the drums right, and they are almost always waaayyy off, and over simplify it so it sounds like total crap ? Just wondering.
theyre good but even close as good w/o mark farner or craig frost. mark helped make it exiting and craig was a perfect laid back keys player... god bless gfr.
exuse me the comment below I dident Write.. i forgot to log out and somebody else wrote that not me.. dont hate!
