  • Nice one Paul. I'm getting the front and rear bull bars, lift kit ect as well. There's a mob out of Perth called hardrange. They do all the gear. They're also developing a fasctory style snorkel for the P38. It'll look like a Safari jobby. Nice. Do you have difflocks?

  • Hi Smeary - my car was the original Hard Range prototype. It was owned by the guy who started HRA in Qld before he sold it to Andrew in Perth. It has the HRA lift kit, Arnott Gen III's, extended shocks, sway-bar disconnects and HRA front bar. I had the rear bar custom made by a mob in Melb. It has an ARB rear air-locker but nothing at the front yet.

Drop by the AULRO forums and you'll find heaps of useful info for your Rangie, and some good contacts too.

  • Joined AULRO last night, brother. Just called Smeary. I'm reckoning a couple of my P38 mates and I head down your way to hook up for a drive, a beer and a chat about the Pegasus. I don't mind Canberra. Used to live at Duntroon. Would love to have a go at the Bowl too.

  • yeah, spotted your post in the Rangie forum. Will have a chat with you over there sometime and you can tell me what the Pegasus is.

  • I'll tell you now mate. The Pegasus is our car. The P38A. When it was in development it was referred to as the "Pegasus" project. Most car companies don't name the model until the end. The P38 comes from the building at Land Rover in Sollihull, England, that Pegasus was born. The "A" refers to the first model of the series.

  • Hey, i have a 96 4.6 HSE ..and im looking to do it up..love the tyres...What wheels you got on there? + have you lifted it up? - Mine on high doesnt look that big ha! ....Plus do you know where to get Rangie mod kits/roofracks/ snorkels from?

    cheers matey! happy motoring!

  • Hi 0ggy - I was wondering why my replies were being rejected and then realised that I can't put a web link in here.

In the vid I'm running standard 16" rims with 33" Maxxis Bighorn tyres. It has a 2" lift to allow it run the bigger tyres, Arnott Gen III air-springs and extended Bilstein shocks. It also has sway-bar disconnects for better travel off-road. In Australia, my gear comes from Hard Range. I get stuff from the UK from p38spares, BritishParts and of course eBay.

    Enjoy your Rangie mate.

  • How did you make the 2" lift ? with EAS Unlock sofware ?

What's kind of "extended Bilstein shocks" have you ? the 5150 series ?

    Thanks for your answer.

  • It has 50mm lift blocks and extended bump stops from "Hard Range Australia" (hra4x4DOTcomDOTau), as well as Bilsteins that are based on the 5150 series. I use EASunlock software to adjust the ride heights a bit more. About 125mm of extra travel over a standard P38A Range Rover. Cheers, Paul.

  • cant believe the truck didnt break!! fair play tho, looks good with the lift on it.

  • Cheers mate. The Rangie was nowhere close to breaking. It would probably have gone up better if I had left the air suspension on a low setting to lower the centre of gravity, but yeah, the high setting looked better for the video :)
