This Garden of Eden in the middle of an over-developed wasteland provided refuge for underpriveleged youth and recent immigrants. It was developed to put up some kind of distribution center, supposedly to create jobs. But once the economy tanks, people are no longer going to buy expensive clothing. On the other hand, a nation always needs food, so those jobs will never go away. The farm is better for the economy. When consumers buy the produce, they pay food tax. Bulldozing=abomination
Tens of people's lives taken for the stagnant money of one rich man. It makes me sick, this terrorism thanks to the bourgeois. We will rise one day and have your heads you FUCKS!
its people like you that like to hurt other human beings, this was truly unnecessary, how can people have no heart, We have to stand up and stop this abuse by the city to the poor Americans living here.
this is the most obscene video ive seen recently... really, actually obscene.. there are people that want you to think that a womans pubic hair is obscene, but THIS is what a word like obscene was really invented for, i think..
the system of capitalism has effects on land issues, is the right for land for people? or is it the right for machines 2 destroy? is wat america is about today, this farm is not dead as long u plant those seeds in ur backyard, people. think about it 1 sec, wats holds for the next generation, the farm won't exist unless u plant them, but the evil side of capitalism has its ways in making it bad, or sometimes it can be made harder
yten,I don't think all the families/people who have spend decades of there life, with this place as one true natural place left for there community/culture/well being/nature would include them selves in your "we"... ...If you love warehouses so much...go get locked in one...
i was down there- that is the largest urban farm in the nation- a national land mark. not to mention it feeds over 350 families. and it is in the warehouse district- next to plenty of EMPTY warehouses....i saw them. we don't, iin fact, need another warehouse- we have more than enough.
still- after the LA riots the city of Los Angeles gave the land to the people as a peace offering specifically to be used as a garden. The city is not allowed to sell land unless there is a council vote on it...the SCF was sold under the table, without vote, out from under the people who were told it belonged to them. just because the judge ruled in favor, doesn't make what happened right, legal, or fair.
yeah --ylen13 doesn't know what he's talking about. they can't just give you a place to stay, then sell it. i'm sure they didn't say "oh, by the way, several years from now, your house will be knocked down, and we'll sell the land to a corporation".
hahahaha Mexicans lost hahahahahaha
