Love the sound to this, where did this come from? Accept no substitute, other bands pale into insignificance when we hear how rock n' roll should be played. Long live The Who.
Who doesn't agree the Who beats the Stones and at times the Beatles? The Who is blue collar rock mixed with philosophy...a hard act to follow! Moon beats Starr...Entwistle beats Wyman...Townshend beats Richards...Daltrey beats Jagger...The Beatles take you on a trip...The Who tells it like it is...The Stones copy everyone...
shut up thegringoloco!!!!!! u know nothing about music, go listen to the jonas bros, maybe according to u, they have a groove and so do all those bullshit rappers and crap artists of today!!!!!!
Old school crazy bastards... no contemporary band is even near to their energy and their frenzy groove, they were, are and will be the fucking monolith of rock music!
Unfortunately, this is the ONLY song The Who ever had, that had a "groove" to its rhythm. Most of their songs never grooved the way Zeppelin's did. Then again, I guess that's not what the Who was about. I'm a total groove-junkie. I prefer Zeppelin, Sabbath and the old Aerosmith from the 70's. The song: "Bitch", by the Rolling Stones, was about as close as those guys ever got to hitting the mark as well. Just my thoughts.
Sit down in a chair, listen to: "When The Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin, and you'll feel the urge to move your head neck and shoulders back and forth to the feel, the "groove" of the song. That song is a great example of what defines "groove". Are we clear now?
Define "groove"? Do you understand anything about music and "rhythm"? A "groove" is a rhythmic "pocket" that the feel and the sound of the song falls into, usually to the point, where the musicians playing the music and the people listening to it, feel an "undulation" come over their body.....from the head, neck, shoulders, traveling down your back, like a belly dancer or a snake does.
Dude, your "groove-junkiness" is substandard if you actually believe that the Rolling Stones landed on the mark only once with, "Bitch". Ever heard of, "Jumpin Jack Flash"? "Honky Tonk Woman"?? Also, the band Free had much more of a groove to them than Zeppelin or Aerosmith did. You should check them out. Also, if you think that this is the ONLY Who song that has groove then you're not too familiar with their catalog of music. Zeppelin may have had more a groove than The Who, but so what?
i see, somebody who claims that only one Who song has a "groove", which centres around the rhythm, and you ask me if i know nothing about music? have you ever listened to the who? and yous ay the stones lack this "groove"?
you chat shit. you've basically said that this "groove" that the who do not have centres around rhythm, and you claim that neither the who or the rolling stones have this "groove", therefore neither of these 2 bands have much in the way of rhythm.
dont try and tell me i dont know anything about music when youre trying to argue that point, it just makes me laugh.
great rock n roll, we don't have music like this anymore, all we have today is shit!!!!!! truly the golden age of rock n roll!!!!!! btw, the guitar solo in this song seems to have been inspired by the guitar playing style of chuck berry, it just seems to me that way, however, i very welll might be wrong
This is just one of their greatest Songs they put between brilliant Albums....This happened further on with Join Together. Lets see Action. Relay etc...
