    You can either think of moving the decimal point and keeping the number "steady"... OR you can think of it as keeping the decimal point "steady" and moving the number. Either way, that is a shortcut to what really happens.

  • OMG thank you sooooo much! I have been doing percentages in my head for the last 20 years & I'm suddenly faced with the need to write it all out on paper again. For the life of me, I couldn't remember what I was supposed to do with all the zeros (besides ignoring them, which works in my head).
