This is just my opinion, But i believe that Spore focused too much on creation rather than gameplay. If this game was like Civilisation cross between Animal Planet i'd be happy, but it's not. The game itself is dissapointing with limited gameplay. I mean sure, you get to build a civilisation but it focuses on more how you create your character, but besides this Spore remains a very fun game either way.

You can find planets and then shape them into the planet you want them to be...

Well, you can "modify" your planet. Your spaceship will have in future the technology makeing you able to wake up some volcanos, melting ice-capes - what will in fact change atmosphere, shape of lands, plants that lives on surface of planet and so on

I don't think Will Wright would ever ask players to pay repeatedly for the same game, except by releasing countless expansion packs for it in the future. Lots of people, myself included, have a strict policy of not paying money for anything unless they own it after they pay.

I hope so. It would be a disaster if we were stuck with the 'googaly-eyed' cell phase, and the creature edditor with 2D trees and stuff in the background.

no the new videos show 3d trees and stuff everything is 3D all the created stuff is 3D and its made using proceduaral generation. look it up

Yes, I know that everything in the game itself is 3D. I was referring to the background of the creature editor, stuff which you don't make (?). I hope that the background will be more like it is on that commonly used picture of the 'Battle fish', rather than what is featured in the video titled 'spore game trailer' by Draggan917.
