  • I don't know what mode I'm playing in, but guitar is tuned to B A M F. I took out the two low strings because they don't sound good.

  • @GuitarSlinger2112 M? seriously?

  • @GuitarSlinger2112 Now that the last commenter commented on the M, I got to say that, be careful, that the neck doesn't bend. You shouldn't take too much strings off from one side of the neck or the tension on the other side will bend the neck and that is not a good thing. I say that you shouldn't take any strings off the guitar and as quick as one snaps you should replace it. Even better if you replace them all.

  • Both the G Phrygian and G dorian seem to work for me, even going back and forth. No, I don't know why, he he, ugh.

  • @MrDrunken1 You can get really weird with D sharp lydian, (E flat lydian). Just the 4th mode of the relative major (A sharp)...

  • OMG this is sooooo much fun!!!! (playing it!)

  • Is it me or do the drums sound like.....

  • go as yourself and and the mask

  • great track to jam to just beginning to try and play blues and loving it............!

  • use the minor and the major...for they are one in the same beautiful person

  • anyone know the tempo?

  • Great and helpful backing track by the way!

  • sick jam man!

  • awwwwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaaa

  • guys, dont respond to roge69charger. he's obviously a guitar player. not a music lover. very huge difference. who cares if everyone plays the same instrument. the more people doing it the better music our race will make.

  • Hi friend CreamerMusic,

Thanks for all these backing tracks... They are very helpful and great Dude!

KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD!

    Cheers from Brazil! =D

  • @roge69charger Are you serious dude? There are these things called hobbies; they're things people enjoy doing when they have free time, apart from the other things in their life. Guitar playing just happens to be a very popular hobby, and I'm sure there are millions of people in the world who would love to enjoy this hobby without some asshole telling them that they should not enjoy it because they can't do it professionally. Odds are, most of them probably don't plan on doing it professionally.

  • i like to jam to this backtrack naked and with the fan blowing my pubes..

  • I just did some really tasty fusion licks using G Dorian. Try that shit!

  • I hope most of you realize that none of you are going to make a life out of being a Guitar Player, There are over 50,000,000, Players at least, And less than 5 percent, Know theory and can read.

Most of you need to get a job, And, Stop dreamming.

  • @roge69charger

Just because we play guitar and aspire to greatness, doesn't mean we just give up on our dream.

Sure, it may not come soon or easily. It may not come at all.

But there still remains that dream.

  • @roge69charger Maybe everyone who likes to play guitar doesn't make it to be a guitar player in a famous band, but that doesnt stop one from working with music as a profession.

  • @stillbadz If you call it anymore a Profession, I reside here in New York City, And, Previously taught for the "Arts For Living Center" In Manhattan for 7 Yrs.

If I went out playing it wasn't in New York City and places near by.

I notice the average and above par So-Called Guitarist, Can't , Not only read a note; But, Can't follow anything, Many of you aspiring R&R, Have demised the art.

  • @roge69charger Negative-nancy.

  • @roge69charger You should totally become a motivational speaker.

  • @roge69charger Somebody's a little self conscious. Im sure you're pretty good, but if you were happy with your playing, you'd probably a lot less of a douche.

  • @roge69charger PS. BB King, Jimi Hendrix, T-Bone Walker, Slash, Dave Matthews, Trey Anastasio to name a few- all people who made lives out of being guitar players without knowing how to sight read and knowing little or nothing of music theory.

  • Comment removed

  • @DylanGalvinMusic Sorry to break your myth, but that is far from true. Now I don't know exact details of every guitarist you mention, but at least Slash is a music acadamy student and definitely knows his theory and stuff. You may want to look up the others yourself before making grand claims. And just dive into theory, don't let it chicken you out.

  • @Bartolomeus9 Ah, damn, well Im positive BB doesnt know his theory. I had a friend who was working sound and overheard someone saying to him "hey man this one's in Bb right?" BB replied, "uh, I don't know I just play, man". I actually know my theory, Im a Berklee grad, they made us drill theory for a few years, which I think everyone should do. Theory is the most helpful thing Ive ever learned besides intense ear training.

  • @DylanGalvinMusic hehe, well then I'm kinda jealous of you I guess :-). I've still got loads of theory to learns, and no acadamy disciplining my ass. So what do you do with your musical skills? Got a band to promote perhaps? Always interested!

  • @Bartolomeus9 yeah, that damn theory, haha. Actually was in over my head at Berklee and really didn't digest anything. Im just now catching up with everything I learned there and trying to integrate it into my playing. I play solo acoustic stuff (pop rock - beatles, john mayer, easy stuff) as a full time job but I just got into a funk rock band with this awesome cat from STOMP named Justin Myles.

  • Great! i love the keyboard

  • nice!

  • Gm7b5 pentatonic is another great one to play over the main drag :)

  • Not Minor....Not Major....BOTH!

Instead off worrying about riffing a single scale to this jam, try thinking about adapting to the changes as they occur

This is something hendrix did alot and it works in this song:

try doing some G to B transitions (as opposed to G to Bb) for the section where the jam stays on G and then switch to incorporating the Bb as the backing modulates to the C..

Its a Major Minor thing and i dont know if it has a name i am ignorant of but all I know is it works..

  • any place i could download this?

  • Lydian Dominant is pretty awesome of this :)

  • G Lydian Dominant that would be

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist Lydian Dominant is a major scale (1 2 3 #4 5 6 7b 8), this song is obv in minor. Can you explain how you use this scale?

  • @JDarkooJDarkoo

G Dorian #4 is also pretty cool with it

  • I have that Tele!

  • so i guess this track isn't made for clarinets to jam on :( haha

  • Great Jam Track. Awesome To Jam On.

  • totaly awesome track

  • Thank you so much! I've been jamming to this same track for an hour now. and its really helped me with my legato.

  • These tracks are so good, I really enjoy playing to them. Thanks for uploading these killer jams.

  • This is really nice, one of my instant favorites

  • perfect!

  • It seems like G dorian sounds best over this backing

  • @shawnlane88

    or C pent minor

  • Sound's very similar to frankenstein, considering the chords are used in the song frankenstein haha. Really cool track.

  • Oh this is hella fun to jam to

  • oh thats good

  • it's FUNk track! thanks!

  • good!!

  • this backingtrack is really cool^^ but not for my guitarstrings:D:D

  • hey this is a great track i even posted a video of me playing along with it check it out

  • Well done. Great track and well recorded. Great energy. Thanks, 5 stars!

  • im loving the open g and d strings oh yeah!

  • I prefer the J contritic semitone eggs-over-easy scale for this one

  • Playing this in whole step down, ohmygod giant bends on the chorus :D

  • G Mixolydian seems to work for me as well

  • Comment removed

  • Posted a video response! It's also under my videos. Check it out if you get the chance! Thanks

  • chorus look alike stone cold bush - rhcp

  • Thats what I thought

  • It's a nice jamtrack, but it's too dominant to actually play over. I like listening to it without lead :)

  • I sincerely appreciate these backtrack and I just wanted to say thanks for all of them.

  • can anyone tell me the chords of this song? Wanted to show my guitar instructor track to play mixo and dorian over

  • fastest 3 minutes of my life. god that was fun

  • This jam track so nice

  • Try C Harmonic Minor over this. Sounds fuckin awesome

  • Holy Crap! It worked! Do you have any more tricks up your sleeves to share? Very cool indeed! In fact... I'm going to start using the harmonic minor off the 4th in minor progressions... it really works! LOL

  • I was just jamming and i hit the flat seventh and it sounded like it should be a major seventh, so I tried it and it sounded pretty sweet haha

  • thanks for the tip

  • how do i play that?

  • C harmonic minor is (C D Eb F G Ab B C). Harmonic minor in general is comprised of these steps, (Root, M2nd, m3rd, P4th, P5th, m6th, M7th). large M standing for major and little m standing for minor. So as far as steps are concerned you'd go C, two steps, one step, two steps, two steps, one step, three steps, and one step to return to C.

So yeah start on any C and keep going up those steps and you have you're C harmonic minor. Hope that helps.

  • Harmonic minor only differs from ordinary minor by a raised seventh, so instead of a minor seventh it has a major seventh. This increases the tension and causes a strong pull to the root. You know when you're listening to a song and you just know what note is going to happen next? Well that's what this creates, a stronger pull to the root.

  • The raised seventh is also used to create a major, or dominant five chord since it is much more powerful sounding than a minor five chord.

  • Indeed. Thanks...

  • Check out my solo jamming to this track on my channel!

  • this is exactly what i've been looking for!

  • amazing :O

  • what a beauty!!! fender rocks!!!

  • Love this jam track! Is it original?

  • Aw man I broke a string jamming to this :(

  • to RsGhost1 its a good sign brother,... reason 1) you must have been playing your ass off to break the string and reason 2) you get to give your guitar a bit of a birthday with a shiny new set of strings!!:)

  • Yea, I have to admit I was kind of pissed at first but I bought brand new elixirs and they're awesome :)

  • Birthday? I change my strings damn near every week.

  • Best backingtrack ever it's so groovy!! Great job!!!

  • Hi...this backing track is really good...I really like it...I've done an improvisation on it...if you want to hear it go to my channel ;)...P.S. also other backing track are beautiful!!

  • amazing

  • im pretty sure its minor, top class track tho!

  • Thanks for the message, was a mistake made by me, yes, it is minor.

  • @CreamerMusic try G mixolydian, which is a Major mode. or you could play in G Dorian which is a minor mode. It is definately not natural minor (aeolian) though because there is clearly a major 6 sound, not a flat 6.

  • @DannyLoef1 This is NOT minor. The tonality is not defined, powerchords are played all the time on step I IV and V so this can either be G minor OR G major. Try both scales - will work.

  • @guitar789 You may be right, havn't take the time to play the chords, I'm a minor solist, so minor sounded better for me.

    thanks for correcting

  • @guitar789 Sorry bud that's a IV iii with the Bb not a V IV with the B natural; it's minor
