I MUST say that i'm SO happy that the poster has realized that Mariah really has given and risk her voice because she knows how much it means to the fans, she DOES NOT NEED the money, while the money doesn't hurt it's not her main purpose she sings because she loves it and loves inspiering people, i hate when people insult an artist, not just Mariah, but ANY artist who is doing somthing POSITIVE with thier life cause it's like WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THATS SO MUCH BETTER, except bitching!

do come at me with defense because i am the biggest lamb youll ever meet trust me. i just think that her vocals are related to a lot more then just what has been said. how ever she is still an amazing song writer producer composer and she is on top. i dont get why just because she had number 1's every year of the 90's why everyone expects perfection i mean that does cause a lot of strees to have that wieght on your shoulders. at least she sings live unlike britney give it a rest and let her be

MC is the best vocalist ever. I love this video. That pic is from SNL I think that was her thinnest ever and I remember seeing Touch My Body and I thought wow, she is thin!, I like her any size and I love that performance of TMB)

yeah!..we have the same thoughts about her, why she still sing although sometimes she's not good to sing, but i appreciate her always, especially her last TAOM concert tour..that's why i'd still love her no matter what!!! go MC, i love you!

The whistle register does not hurt or damage the voice once it is used correctly and the chords are exercised regularly. She does it with ease, sometimes while speaking or even for fun. The use of superhead had nothing to do with her vocal condition.

And you do? Care to share your knowledge? You may not agree with me but that does not mean that I have no idea what I am talking about. Betty Wright has been singing in the 7th octave long before Mariah and with less control yet she voice has shown almost no sign of decline. Bret Manning has highlighted that the whistle register does not damage the voice once it is a natural part of the vocal range and is not forced. Shanice, Cante Moore and Deniece Williams show no decline either.

Did you consider that her vocal issues may be related to nodules on her chords? She has repeatedly admitted to having nodules that allow her to possess a very raspy tone but have the negative effect of making her voice very sensitive. Also, it may be age. Her tessitura clearly lies in the 3rd octave yet she has been belting in the 5th octave for many years. Did you consider that, like most Altos, her voice is developing a darker timbre with age and that singing beyond that is becoming harder?

whistle notes don't hurt.
{unless u do them wrong, then they can be dangerous and hurt a lot} im pretty sure that she just talked to much and sang to much and thats why she lost her voice

I LOVE MARIAH CAREY!!!...just so you know that the whistle register is F-ing up her voice...she just really needs rest...but that is a plausible statement, because when she does hit those notes her vocals vibrate 3000 times per sec...so with that she needs rest that's all.
