I have had severe cystic acne and can tell you what worked best for me. First, have the cysts drained, then injected with a cortical steroid. This will have dramatic effects within a day. I tried every antibiotic, with little change. The miracle for me was Accutane. Extremely strong. It dries your skin, causes your pores to shrink. Also drink lots of water.
hi I did try accutane for 2 years and i still have it unfortunatelly for me accutane didnt work. that cortical injection I also had it done on one cheek but since i am soooo sensitive it hurt so much that i didnt let the dr do my other cheek. :0/ and besides it came back so i dont think its worth the pain. but thanks for your comment :0)
Nothing you apply to the skin will help. Please find a dermatologist who will drain out that painful infection and start you on antibiotics. You are lovely and help is there!
Do you find that you only get the cysts when you ovulate/have a period. This is certainly the case with me. I have a 5 week cycle but my skin is never clear. I get usually 1 cyst on my face every time I ovulate or have a period. These cysts can take weeks to heal and by the time it has gone down I ovulate/have a period again and another cyst appears. Going on the pill made me get them all the time so they must be estrogen related. The redness from one cyst can last for months.
I had to deal with cystic acne the first 4 months of my senior year of high school, then i started taking accutane. it helped me so much. i hope everything clears up for you...i know how tough, painful, and embarassing it is to live with cystic acne. but like i said, accutane cleared it up for me!
i had this literally ALL over my cheeks and chin for about a year,, shit sucked so badly lol. black and red, and sometimes would bleed randomly -__- but yours isnt too bad, and like someone else stated, your beautiful :) good luck with your skin, dont let it get you down cuz it doesnt matter at the end of the day
I dry brush, use glycerine soap, aloe vera, African black soap, lemon juice and coconut oil. Using what's listed, my skin is 1000x better. If I knew how great these worked when I was in high school, my skin would probably be flawless. Highly recommend as they work and are vegan/natural.
P.S. I didn't notice your acne at first because you're cute. Don't let acne get you down. It's much easier to get clear skin than beauty, so you're already ahead.
hi thanks for your comment! I am curious to know, how do I use all of these products? if you can please let me know as I am eager to know and anxious to try it out! thanks *Yazmin*
I wash my skin with aloe vera infused glycerin soap and African black soap. I apply lemon juice at night and use coconut oil to condition my skin (and hair). The ingredients are pure and natural so it's unlikely that these will agitate the acne.
Honestly my cystic acne wasnt as severe as yours but none the less it was still terrible. I used a product Lerosett and within a month I saw improvement within 5 months my acne cleared (in combination with this birth control Trinessa and acne med Solodyn). And I use Dr. Max Powers Intensive Stretch Mark cream (it works well on scars) to clear up now light scarring. This product also works very fast.
I get ran do pimples here and there but I cane across some videos on you tube the acne practice he has great before and afters check them out it may work for you!
Cystic acne has made my life miserable for the last 10 years. NO ONE should go through that in their teens or twenties, we should be having fun! Well I've had periods where my skin gets clear and I feel wonderful, I took ACCUTANE once, without great effects. My skin is super oily, I'm currently using LEROSETT regimen. How's your acne doing??
I totally agree with you!! but unfortunatelly I still have cysts here and there they come and go as the please :( my face has so many marks and scars theres no smoothness anymore! It has gotten worse as the years pass by. I guess Im one of those who has to live with it until I die! what you see in this video is nothing compared to how my skin looks now. I hope you finaly find the cure for your acne. thanks for your comment, have a wonderful day! Yazmin
@mamiposa26 thank you for your reply Yazmin. I feel embarassed that I'm still having this issues now that I'm 31, most of the time I'm the only one with acne in my workplace or group of friends. Some of them are used to seeing me with clear skin because I've managed to hide when I get cysts and pretty nice looking complexion, so the comment about it which makes me more uncomfortable. The Lerosset system did not work, it only worked the 1st week,
@mamiposa26 Don't feel bad, I'm a 27 year old man with cystic acne. I've had cystic acne since I was 15 years old and have multiple scars too. You're not the only one who has to deal with this problem. I too get so depressed where I think about I'd be better off if I were dead, but I persist and keep on going on. I know the embarrassment and pain you go through. I go to work every day with acne on my face and it's so embarrassing because everyone else has clear skin. Have you tried acne diets?
@MusartJD There are a lot of great books out there, I'm currently using the clear skin prescription book by Nicholas Perricone. The book only reduced my cystic acne very little, but I guess a little help is better than no help. Also you could try using supplements. Zinc is great for cystic acne, but be careful of your intake amount because too much can be toxic. You should not take over 100mg of zinc. There is another alternative called vitamin b5 overdose, or Panathenonaic Acid.
@MusartJD Another book you should check out is Acne free in 3 days, this I haven't tried yet. It's about cleansing your colon and eating apples for 3 days in a row to cleanse your body of any candida. I hope this information can be helpful to you, and don't worry you're not alone. I've had cystic acne since I was 15 and I'll probably have it till the day I die. If you come across any information feel free to share some with me, as I will with you. Have a good day, and God Bless. : )
I have a acne problem myself and tired of it. U should definitely check out "mexusagirl" she had a problem and after a longfggggg time of trials got clear skin.
Hi! Have you had a more comprehensive test for food allergies? I noticed that you said you had testing for gluten allergy, but sometimes acne is a result of another allergy.
Proactiv works really well, but it's not for all skin types. Some people I know said it worked others said it made there acne worse. But if you do use proactiv especially there new regiment. I've noticed using a moisturizer really helps too. Don't put alcohol or oxygen peroxide straight on your face that will make your skin irritated and much worse. I take skin care very seriously so that's why I recommend a moisturizer, but I'm not telling you what to do. Hope it gets much better. :)
i have cystic acne too :( i feel youre pain (literally and emotionally) i have found that Proactiv works pretty thoroughly and quickly although i cant always afford it. I'm trying a technique called oil pulling to help also. look it up.. my heart goes out to ya girl <3 much love
I recommend hydrogen peroxide or other just straight from the bottle anti inflammatory products. I used some on my bad zits and it really brought down the swelling.
I have cysts in my breasts and the docs wanted to stick a needle in them the extract the liquid, and I found out once the cyst is there it will continue to fill up ,unless the sac is removed. Looks like your have" tunnled" cysts somtimes that happens when a cyst has been squeezed and has broken under the skin.
Change your diet, drink a lot of water and no soda. Eat lots of dark leafy greens like kale, spinach, mustard greens, collards and dark leafy lettuce. Stay away from sugar and to much starch. Eat very little meat and make sure the meat is grass fed. Take a multivitamin. Don't wear any make-up till your face clears up,then use all new make-up. No junk food. Junk in, junk out. Good luck!
I know exactly how it feels to have cystic acne.I've tried everything from washes to Acne-Free to retin-A. Nothing could get rid of it completely. Finally I decided to go on Accutane. Best decision ever made, my face is clearing up and I've only been on it a month so far. :) Yes there are side effects, but the worst ones are VERY rare. All i got was dry lips and skin which can be treated. I would recommend it to anyone who has had to fight with acne.
I am glad you finally found a medication that helped you! I took accutane for 2 yrs and it helped me the first 3 months, then my body got used to this medicine so the cysts ccame back unfortunately :( I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you get cured!!
girl, you need to treat it naturally. i've been suffering with adult acne for 4 years and none of that shit worked for me. i'm only using at home treatments now and my skin is finally getting better. it takes time though. research research research. cut sugar, caffeine and grains out of your diet as much as possible. tons of water. <3 acv, omega 3, lemons, manuka honey, coconut oil <3 its internal !!!!!
hey, have to tried Doxycycline 100 mg bid for umm at least 2 weeks then slowly reduce to once every day until you finally stop. try taking the tablet on an empty stomach, but if it causes you to vomit, take it 2 hours after meals or 1 hour before meal. you might see results in 2 days or less . Doxycycline has less side effects than all the other medications but the best outcome for some patients . i also have cystic acne. also try to avoid stress especially emotional.
i went to the dr 2 weeks ago and he prescribed me keflex 500mg, i am on my last day of the 14 day treatment. i also got tretinoin cream for nighttime, and clindamycin 1% for day time. I also got the prescription for doxycycline 100mg!!!
but he put the date for tomorow so that i wouldnt mix them! so tomorrow i will be getting this medication, I am gald you took the time to explain to me how to take it!
i am almost done with this medication,(Doxycycline 100mg) the dr gave me a 60 day one capsule a day twice a day and i have no cysts so far!!!! I am so happy!!! I just hope i can keep it up w/o cysts so that i can get rid of my scars!!! thankyou for this information!
i have no acne at the moment except for a cyst on my jawline...i have had 3 cysts within the last 6 months...before that, i never had any cysts! im 16..could it be hormones? what causes it?
and you are really pretty, i hope you find a cure :)
it mite help if you dont listen to evenessance. :D wth, accutane didnt work? go on it again. stay on it. try to get on it for 80mg or something like that for 6 months. thats whta i did. helpd for the most part. i no if take it again ill be fine with acne but i still have horrible scars and inflamation. and idk if you belong to any religion or faith but praying about it really helps.but its a little more than just praying,if you want to talk about that im more than willing to give you some insite
I can only tell you that I have had cysts on my face that have devastated me the last 5 years so I know how you feel. I've felt that everyone was looking at me and commenting how ugly I've become. I became quite depressed, but I had to take a look at myself and wonder if my looks were all that mattered or was the REAL person inside of me of any importance at all. I see you as SO pretty and please don't say you are ugly because you aren't!
The asprin has healing agents and the honey takes off bactaria. I do this while in the shower. I do it 2 times a week. But if you have it bad every other day till it clearns up.
The asprin has healing agents and the honey takes off bactaria. I do this while in the shower. I do it 2 times a week. But if you have it bad every other day till it clearns up.
Try 3 asprin in a lid or small cup. Put a drop of water on each. Then add about a 1/2 teaspoon of honey. Better if you use honey from a hive near you. Make a past. Then clean your face pat the paste on and leave for 10 mins. Then rub with your finger in small cyclers all over your face. Raise and pat dry. Your face will fell like a newborns.
Chemical things will not make it better. I v been there. I know this. Your body might not react well to chemicals like me. Propolis and tea tree oil are the best for acne. they will dry the acne naturally. And the most important thing: avoid things that contain citric acid.
i think that you should go see a dermatologist, i suffered from acne for 4 years before i decided to go see a derm. and i wish that i had gone wayyyyy earlier. also try not eating dairy... ive heard that works
go see a dermatologist... you can't treat this with just natural products and raw food. It will clear up with the right products and the advise from the right dermatologist.
i recommend going the natural way---maybe your skin doesnt do well with all these harsh chemicals. Lush face washes/masks/vanishing cream has done wonders for my skin! Chk it out! It's seriously a lot cheaper than these treatments and wont hurt your skin in the process! :) Best WIshes!
im really sorry sweetie but atleast u dont have a lot of them, dont worry theyll clear up with time, eat salads and drink water everyday trust me it makes a difference
First I agree with the others! you are beautiful. You need to go to your doctor and have blood work up. Your hormones may be out of balance. Too much testosterone in your body. This can be treated with low dose birth control. Hormone levels out of whack can cause many more problems. Please have this checked out! I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and one of the signs is severe acne even as an adult! I'm 45. Treated my cystic acne (medicine prescribed by MD) and it cleared . Seek a good doc!
Hey, I haven't got cystic acne again yet (I took my first accutane course last jan - aug) but used to have it much smaller, but all over both cheeks. Smaller acne is kind of returning :(, I was just wondering how long after accutane you relapsed, if you took more than one course, and wat dose u took?
hey girl, yeah i can totally understand what you're going through. i went through the exact same situation like you. my top advices for you is absolutely no picking and drink lots of water. because if you pick or touch with your hands not being clean, that's when bacteria gets in there. definately consult a dermatologist about it. trust me, it's going to get better. best wishes for you.
I have been in your shoes. I know how much this hurts. And I know that neosporin, apple cider vinegar, and herbs will not cure this type of acne. I recommend trying yasmin birth control pills in combination with this drug called spironolactone. It is a wonder prescription for severe, hormonal cystic acne. Seriously, I feel like I wouldn't be able to live a normal life without these drugs (and I've been taking them for 4 years). I think it might work for you, too.
i used Loreal microderm (skip the lotion) every night and then put a thick layer of neosporin, then gauze on top of that and taped it down as I slept. It super works!!! the more neosporin, the more it soaks in and kills the bacteria and heals without scarring!!! it's the only thing that's ever worked for me and now my skin is clear!
First of all, have you gone to a dermatologist, or are you treating it yourself with these products. Also, you should have bloodwork done and other tests to see what is going on internally. Sounds like you have been treating it externally but there also could be some internal reasons at work here.
You need to examine diet, your immune system, etc. Also investigate seeing a professional in the alternative health sector who could recommend cleansing herbs and other approaches.
100 percent that im sure this will help.... use baking soda not baking powder .. just leave it for 2 mins.. well if you feel like burn just wash it with water.. then just .. few weeks later you will lose that cystic pimple.. well i got my pimple but not just like that but it is really weird for me so you must use baking soda it will help.. mix it with water to form a paste and it just tap it on your face.. let me know how it helps you.
I don't really have any advice but I didn't want to say- You are so pretty and I feel so bad that you're having to go through this! I can only imagine how much it sucks.
Wow.. going through this sucks. Don't lose heart! Have you had a look at your diet? I've heard organic apple cyder vinegar is very good diluted in water. Berries and green are also very good. Also, how old are you? Maybe going on the pill may help to reduce the cysts... it has helped me.
You could have food allergies. Dairy products make me break out badly and gluten/ wheat does not suit me either. You have to do a body detox and see what works/ does not work for you. Having these problems is your body's way of telling you something is not in balance/ does not suit you so you have to try and listen to the signs.
Hope that did not sound too preachy...Give it a shot... still trying to see what works for me ....hope it helps you!
try differin i just had a huge cyst like thing on my nose and in 4 days it went straight away no scars it might dry that area out but just mix it with lotion and it wont:)
Surgery... my uncle had painful cystic acne on his back and neck- then he got those suckers lanced out from the source. He has scars of course (just a little darker than his skin color), but they look like little scratches- and they're flat!
I dont think you want a another acne tip but have you seen the doc for your liver that was my problem well still my problem and yes alot of ppl say its not in what you eat but thats a lie.
Hey, have you tried the oil cleansing method?? Evoo and Co ( Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Castor oil) if you google it, you will find it has been a success with alot of people who suffer cystic pimples.
hello yes I bought it but I only have like a week using it so nothing really has happened but i will continue using it to see if it helps me improve my skin.
AWESOME ! THANKS i ALREADY TRIED MINOCYCLINE AND DIFFERIN AND IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME. I HAVE NEVER TRIED ACNE FREE TO BE SINCERE, I WILL BUY IT THIS AFTERNOON WHEN I GO TO WALMART. THANKS!
hi, Well You can try "Acne free" for severe acne it's an orange box, they sell it in target or walmart. I have cystic acne, well not anymore because it's under control. I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed minocycline which worked great! I have to take it daily so it can keep my face clear, and I also used differin at night, it helped a lot!...now im using the acne free for severe acne system and its working fine...hope this helps
I love evanescence well thank God that is only on one spot but i feel your pain. How many dermatologist you been to. But they give away prescriptions like free candy i hate them. Anyways it seems you have a bacteria infection and i am surprised accutane din't work. I just wanted to say you very pretty : ) and stay positive , there is always light at the end of a tunnel.
Just a quick suggestion. My dermatologist mentioned laser treatment as a final option. Is this something you've looked into or considered? I wish you the best of luck... cystic acne can be devastating... not only physically, but emotionally as well. I'm hoping you find a cure!!!
Oh sweetie... I am so sorry. I definitely feel your pain. I'm on BC right now and it's not touching my cysts. I'm considering accutane as a VERY LAST resort.
Join popthatzitDOTcom. Not because they are weirdos, but they as a group have an amazing collective knowledge and could offer some really good advice on treatments. You don't have regular acne. I noticed on your other vid some open comedones/giant blackheads, as well as the sebaceous cysts. Sebaceous cysts will not go away without surgery most of the time - the actual "sack" must be removed so it doesn't refill and return. Go to PTZ. I promise they can help!
have you tried spironolactone? This is what helped with my cystic acne. I have a video titled "bye-bye acne" or something like that, lol, showing before and after pics. It has not cleared me 100% but it helped a ton!! If you haven't tried it, google it so you can read up on how it helps with hormonal acne.
it is 2012 and that cyst from 0:20-0:33 I have it again!!!! its annoying and frustrating!!

Then only twice a week for preventive.

Hello,
Chemical things will not make it better. I v been there. I know this. Your body might not react well to chemicals like me. Propolis and tea tree oil are the best for acne. they will dry the acne naturally. And the most important thing: avoid things that contain citric acid.
Take care

i think that you should go see a dermatologist, i suffered from acne for 4 years before i decided to go see a derm. and i wish that i had gone wayyyyy earlier. also try not eating dairy... ive heard that works
patiolanternns13 1 year ago
go see a dermatologist... you can't treat this with just natural products and raw food. It will clear up with the right products and the advise from the right dermatologist.
GibsonPure024 1 year ago
i recommend going the natural way---maybe your skin doesnt do well with all these harsh chemicals. Lush face washes/masks/vanishing cream has done wonders for my skin! Chk it out! It's seriously a lot cheaper than these treatments and wont hurt your skin in the process! :) Best WIshes!

Smaller acne is kind of returning :(, I was just wondering how long after accutane you relapsed, if you took more than one course, and wat dose u took?
mhodgkin 2 years ago
hey girl, yeah i can totally understand what you're going through. i went through the exact same situation like you. my top advices for you is absolutely no picking and drink lots of water. because if you pick or touch with your hands not being clean, that's when bacteria gets in there. definately consult a dermatologist about it. trust me, it's going to get better. best wishes for you.

Gotta say, accutane would probably be the best for you, if you really have tried everything else.

ProsaicDream 2 years ago
i used Loreal microderm (skip the lotion) every night and then put a thick layer of neosporin, then gauze on top of that and taped it down as I slept.

Wow.. going through this sucks. Don't lose heart! Have you had a look at your diet? I've heard organic apple cyder vinegar is very good diluted in water. Berries and green are also very good. Also, how old are you? Maybe going on the pill may help to reduce the cysts... it has helped me.
malika585 2 years ago
You could have food allergies. Dairy products make me break out badly and gluten/ wheat does not suit me either. You have to do a body detox and see what works/ does not work for you. Having these problems is your body's way of telling you something is not in balance/ does not suit you so you have to try and listen to the signs.
Hope that did not sound too preachy...Give it a shot... still trying to see what works for me ....hope it helps you!

Surgery... my uncle had painful cystic acne on his back and neck- then he got those suckers lanced out from the source. He has scars of course (just a little darker than his skin color), but they look like little scratches- and they're flat!

I'm hoping you find a cure!!!

thanks i will look on to that!!

Oh sweetie... I am so sorry. I definitely feel your pain. I'm on BC right now and it's not touching my cysts. I'm considering accutane as a VERY LAST resort.

I already took accutane but it didnt help me :( good luck to you I hope something less powerful helps you!!
thanks
