@HarryPotter87 no, star wars does not take place in the future, it happened in the past that is why every opening of star wars says "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." so not only was it in the past but it doesn't even involve our galaxy which is why u don't hear references to earth our sun or any other planets in our solar system.

Alot of you may know but I thought I would just put it out, Return of the Jedi was originally titled Revenge of the Jedi But then at almost last minute changed it to return of the jedi because he though Jedis dont want revenge.

When you look at it, that trailer for the first film made it look less interesting than it actually was. If I was an adult or child 31 years ago, I would not have been too thrilled to see it. We all see were it ended up, nonetheless.
