I like this video. I didn't know to stack the blades to check for a bent blade. Good stuff. I'm buying an oregon balancer for around $5 from Amazon.com. The vise is ok to hold the blades but the sparks make a mess in my basement. I prefer to use a workmate to hold the blade and take it outside so the sparks land on the ground.
@garylegg I got a balancer from my great grandfather (nail on the wall) After balancing you hang the blade on the nail by the center hole. The blade will move back and fourth from left to right and then center itself in the middle if balanced (just like a scale). If it turns to one side and doesn't come back to center itself then it is out of balance and needs more off that side. Has worked for my family for 100+ years.
