Pleading Thick , In the background you have a silver rod with your coax looped is this for a reason ? I have read it stops RF and does it help you get out any better as my silver rod is spot on by my digital SWR meter ( Ch1 1.0 Ch40 1.1) but i just can't get out very far like i used to years back and my antenna ( New ) is in the same place, Cheers
Had the Sirio 827 for a few years now , great on 11m and works ok on 20m , mine will not tune on 40m at all , , (all equipment is earthed)
i found the Imax-2000 had a better bandwith , but this antenna out performed it on the resonant bands hands down , but i found the A-99 wiv the added GP kit better than the imax in my location ,, everyone to their own i suppose
The 20m vertical is a hybrid robbed from an old HF multibander - it's just over 16' high and loads up very well with 3 x 16.5 feet groundplanes. The 20m vertical is better on 20m than the 827 by an S point or two fairly consistently. The 827 however is excellent on 40m when tuned with an ATU - I was amazed how good it was. At the moment both antennas are down and I have a Hustler 4BTV and Imax 99 up in both positions. 73s Jon
I have a Norwalk Electronics Dominator 6, which is a Sirio S-827 cut down and retuned as a 5/8-wave for 6 Meters. It is a fantastic performer during Es openings. A very special antenna.
I have an 827.Will tune down to 40, superb build quality, much better than my Hustler 6btv and out performs it too. A very cheap good quality vertical.. exellent.

Why do you have the Imax 99 up now? Is the Imax 99 better on 10 meters?

Will this antenna tune up for 6 or 4 metres?
Is the antenna heavy & what is it like in the wind? regards Tony.

Could I ask a question, how does your 20m Vertical compare to the 827 on 20m ? If its better, what model is it? Thanks, Matt

Maybe with them being so close there is some coupling or reactance? Be interesting to see what they do at leas a wavelength apart...
