  • Well done. Played the piece how it wanted to be played. Many people take a lovely piece like this and make it a technical exercise of speed not of expression. Thank you.

  • Nice :) Thanks :)

Felicitaciones

  • Precioso!!!

    Buenisimo sonido!!! :)

  • This interpretation shows the difference between a great guitar talent and a true master. I think that Leo Brouwer wrote a sheer poem. Only the essencial notes remain and the rest is stripped.

Of course you would like to play it Rubato and Adagio and Molto Espressivo but . . . Leo said: Andante cantabile and let my notes tell their story. Of course if you feel inspired, go for your own interpretation, but I think a true master like Per-Olov shows us the way of the poet.

  • You are a genius.

    Thank you.

  • This is one of the most beautiful pieces of guitar music that I have ever heard

  • Very nicely done. I am glad you play the third section at a slower pace. I always cringe when it is rushed. Maybe it sounds more playful that way, but it disturbs the mood for me.

Saludos amigo!

  • Hola que tal?

    Muchas gracias.

    Saludos desde Suecia.

    Per-Olov

  • I love the pace of your interpretation, especially in the E major section. Most people rush the crap out of it. I took inspiration from your performance when I played this a few years back! just happened to land on this video again today - no one better on YouTube!

    Take care,

    Sean

  • Maravillosa canción.

  • Because of that I started guitar lesson

  • It' s very romantic and sweet melancholy... isn't it?... I heard it for first time the day I broke up with my boyfriend and I cried a lot... it is amazing...

  • hermosisima canción de verdad.

  • Wow... you play with such feelings, such passion... you really know how to serve emotion with technique and not the opposite. In my opinion this is what makes the difference between guitar technicians and artists... and you definitely belong to the second category ! On this autumn day you really touched me with that wonderful song and almost made me cry... keep doing your amazing work !

  • I've just heard this piece and have become completely enchanted by it. As a 64 year old woman who just returned to classical guitar 3 years ago after a 20 year absence, I find your musicianship very artistic and sensitive. Unlike some guitarists who mechanically perform the notes, you bring them alive with feeling. This will be the next piece that I will try to learn, but listening to your interpretation of guitar music is very inspiring for me.

  • Thank you so much for your kind words. Please keep listening to me. I hope also not only on YouTube but also on my CDs.

    Kindly and ... keep playing!

    Per-Olov

  • I love Mr.peo's sound all of the world.

I did meny meny placticing this song .

    Thanks Mr.Peo.

  • So beautiful, so emotional..

  • magnificent!! i play just the fisrt part ... ill keep practice :)

  • Buena interpretación de guitarra clásica

  • What beautiful playing. Your phrasing is absolutely gorgeous, and as for your tone... it's an inspiration.

  • Great piece - and wonderfully played ! Many thanks !!

  • Thank YOU! I am honored.

Please keep listening to me and... feel!

    Per-Olov

  • Remarkable playing as always Mr. Kingdren! I find it fascinating that Brouwer can compose something so abtract and dissonant as his Tarantos or La Espiral Eterna but at the same time be able to create something as beautiful and romantic as this song! Ive been studying a lot of Brouwer etudes in school and I have to say I love your version of etude 6! But Id love to hear more of your renditions of Brouwers etudes! Best regards from California!

  • Hi there. Thank you. I agree with you. I only know 2 tonal pieces by Brouwer: This and Cancion de Cuna. (wish I have as an mp3 on my web shop). Beautiful pieces.

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo Well,Per-Olov it's not a definite yet because were going to do a concert the 12th of May,and the guitar instructor,He wants to evaluate it for the class first.the name of the piece hes considering is Lamento. On irrelevant news,I just wanted to tell you me and my friend are playing a solo duet for the cpncert i told you about concert :)!!!!

  • @AndanteLargo We are going to play lamento, but its in the process of being looked at right now.we are probably gonna start the piece next year.On orrelvant news.My School is going to have a spring concert, and theres gonna be a Solo duet, and im one of the soloist :)

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo Oh my goodness you replied to my comment!! :) well i have been playing classical guitar for about 6 years now, and it's just amazing. I love classical music. I love playing classical music, it's apart of my life!! Thanks for the good advice, i shall make you proud. I have to do a classical guitar exam in June and i am playing this peace as one of 6 peaces i have to play. Thank you again :)

  • Why do you play everything at the same pace? Give it some freedom to the tempo to explore the true meaning of this piece

    Per-Olov

  • Excellent work.

  • Thank you for this video. I really enjoy your playing.

  • Great execution, thanks a lot.. you put good feelings in your kind of playing.

  • Serieus you are awesome... normally im listening to Rock/Metal and Trance/Hardstyle and go wild on it...

You man... make my heart stop every time you post a music piece.. You make my heart get some rest...

    B-E-A-U tifull!

    Peace!

  • I play electric guitar but when I heard this song I knew I had to learn it.It took me 2 weeks to reach 1:30.Beautiful song

  • Lovely tone...

  • Nicely played! I'm doing this same piece for college right now! I really like the way you've done the phrasing! Your interpretation is beautiful! Thanks for putting this up!

  • wonderful!

  • Great!!! thanks a lot. You're fantastic.

God bless you and all people like you!

  • H AndanteLargo! I relly searched for an interpretation like yours on the internet!!!

Soryy, but I'm honest: your sound in part A ist 'perfect' - really!

But in part B (turning to major) you don't play as free as it could be. Hm......but my opinion is truly my personal opinion.....

I am so intrested in what you think about that!

All the versions I could find in internet were really too "romantic", the simplicity of the melody is killed in most of the interpretations. But not in yours!

    Lisi

  • Have to admit i didnt particularly like this piece when i 1st heard it. However after more & more listenings i gradually grew to appreciate it. So strange that it took so long to love & feel the beauty of this piece. I guess its 1 of those things which slowly grow on you. & yes, Peo, you played it beautifully.

  • it make me cry (sy if my english is bad)

  • Isn't it strange that Brouwer's tonal pieces are actually really well written? His works are brilliant, but ones like this tend to stick around in my head for a while. Great interpretation!

  • WHY U CAN PLAY SOOO GOOD LIKE THAT

  • Wunderful, maybe the best, version, just bought the scores hope it is not to difficult! You are a great source of inspiriation!

    Thanks

  • hi !

this is a great song, and interpretation, well done !

I'm actually working on this piece, could i ask for some advices, i just posted a video of my interpretation on my youtube channel :-)

  • this is the best!

  • This is a romantic piece made very romantic by Per-Olov. Sir, you have incredibly gifted hands!

  • beautiful! would you mind sending me this partiture/tab?

  • Isn't it kind of slow? or is just me?

  • vary badly play sorry but is true

  • @MultiSuperFra i think so too. Your quality is near perfect. But work on the speed. It's a bit faster go to dimitri's version and that is perfect

  • @UuDonKnowMe Well i think that Dimitri's version is not exactly perfect because it's to fast and you can enjoy as well as this version

  • @RodPEBil I agree, I really like this mellow tempo.

  • Well chilled out music.

  • Great performance, astonishing sound, and what a lovely piece by Leo Brouwer.

  • @eltrek00 Did you get the music from his site or is this Jesús Ortega's transcripsion?

  • I have no words...

  • great job!

  • Wonderful sound. Great work.

As an aside, Damien Rice's 9 Crimes seems to share some melodic similarities. Just popped into my head as I was listening. Curious thought.

  • It's my favourite song of Leo Brouwer.

    Are you have note??

  • The best rendition of this tune I have ever heard. Excellent.

  • Love it! You play with so much feeling.

    5*'s

  • very good i like your sound ... but it's a little bit slow isn't it ?:/ . nice play

  • i don't think so ... this masterpiece could be even slower and it would still be nice ;-)

    gracias! excelente sonido!!!

  • i heard Leo Brouwer composed this piece when he was 15! :o no waaaay xDDD your playing is just awesome peo! No words can describe it's beauty. =)

  • Tres belle interpretation !

  • Just love this piece Peo, you give it so much feeling. Definitely the best and fullest version I've seen. Tempted to learn this myself but I've got a shortened version, what's your source?
