The Indigenous players today lack the hardness and skill that the players of old had. Dont get me wrong they are skillful but the level has dropped. The reason for this is because they most probably have grown up playing amongst non-Indigenous players instead of refining their skills amongst Indigenous players. Byron Pickett was the last of a dying breed; left and right footed, outside 50 is no problem, tough, can play anywhere etc. just like the players of old; Stephen Michael, Syd Jackson etc.

Don't know how Essendon won that game. I think there's little doubt that if these two sides played again, the Aboriginals would win.
Plus, the Indigenous players are in great form at the moment. Can't say the same for the Bombers. :Z
