actually, this is not entirely true. there are bad hookahs, I have owned a few. it depends on where and how it was made, the type of hose, the size of the bowl and how much charcoal or heat you apply to it. some hookahs do not give you the true taste of a flavor and there are different types of tobacco brands, like StarBuzz, fantasia, hookah hookah and so on. I might have to make a video response to this one.

tips from a hookah expert:

1- the coal, spread it on the edges, and Never on the center, 3-4 pieces is the best.

2- do NOT press the tobaco, spread it instead, using ur HANDS (this is important).

3- check for leaks.

also, u can use the same amount of coal with every tobaco flavor, Mint for example, needs a lil bit of coal, if u put too much, u will ruin the taste.

most of em are made with 1 cigarette vs 1 shisha. 1 shisha is about 45-60 min. a cigarette about 5-7 min.

generally, if u smoke 5 min shisha, not too fast. and 5 min a cigarette, the shisha is not than unhealthy.

but i would say (dont know, but really can be) 1 shisha with 2 people (45-60min) (each 22,5-30) is about 1,5-2 cigarettes.

There are strong debates about this health issue... Maybe these debates are forced by "business", competition between cigarette manufacturers and hookah producers. I tell you a simple and fast way to check this thing out. Take a paper handkerchief and take the layers apart (you will find that each sheet is made from 2 or 4 thin layers). Now place this thin layer of paper on the filter of the cigarette and draw the cigarette for 3 times. You'll see tar and smoke residues left on the paper.

The duration of smoking a hookah is far longer, but I knew some very old men (i mean 95 an 97 years old, who were smoking pipes, and pipe smoking is more "harmful" than a hookah), but I haven't heard of people this old who were cigarette smokers. What could be dangerous(!) is when hookas are cheap, badly made or rust easily.. If there are rust on your hookah, DONT smoke it.
