Never knew that PP Arnold sang the original, but hey isn't that what listening to songs on youtube is about, learning about new music, rather than just slating off different singers?!

What an awful performance. The voice is shakey, she is off tune, she doesn't convey real feelings, its pitchym its classic karaoke and ruin of a great song. She was inexperienced, but why are judges not honest with her and more important with themselves. I am sure if Leona checks her rendition, she will find it gross, unappealing and something she is not proud of, if she is honest with herself. Yet when Cat Stevens or Rod Steward sing it, oh my. You're obviously not aware that Leona was suffering from a heavy cold that week and this clearly affected her ability to hit the big notes. This wasn't made public during the main show because she didn't want to make excuses - it was only pointed out on the sister ITV2 show by the presenters. However she still went for it fearlessly as she did throughout the entire series and I have so much respect for her for that. Your comment is negative and uninformed, sorry to say it but it's true.
And she bounced back the following week with her performance of "Summertime" which made the whole world sit up and take notice. Don't tell me you thought that was rubbish as well? Then she was brilliant week after week, then "Bleeding Love" then "Run" but why don't we focus on a slightly sub par performance when she was ill? This girl is a gift to us all from God, yet you have such negativity. It's a sad world.
Arnold recorded it first, but it is still a song attributed to Cat Stevens. He didn't write soley to be performed by others. It's a Stevens' song, that just happened to be released by another artist(s).
actually he wrote it when he was a struggling songwriter.he himself sold this song to Arnold for 30 british pounds.$60,I never said he wrote solely for others,I am merely pointing out that Stevens didn't do the first performance as you stated,that's all.also this version is the Rod Stewart arrangement,if you listen to Stevens version you can here Stewart change the lyrics
well this woman has everythig that a performer has got 2 have , charisma, a wonderfull voice, the looks and above all that overall breathtaking ability to rip ever last bit of breath out of every single spectator around i hope she continues this.
