  • Wow you got hurricane force gusts

  • @JerseyShore117 yea worst winds Ive been in :-)

  • @themuss28 That's so cool. I love being in high winds. The fastest i've experienced (if this counts) is on Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure which goes 128 mph so that was powerful. Just a question about the anemometer, what happens if the limit is say, 65 mph and you stick it out the car window going like 72 mph, would it read 72 mph or would it say error or something since it only measures up to 65 mph?

  • @JerseyShore117 LOL it can count if you want it too lol think the max on the anemometer is 135mph its never been that fast, fastest is what u seen in this vid. I've been 179mph on a Suzuki GSXR1000 but hid behing the screen you dont feel the wind lol great fun though, obviously on private land LMAO (maybe)

  • @themuss28 WOW thats very fast! aha yea that anemometer looks prettttty cool

  • Nice

  • @flipnotize211 glad you liked cheers

  • Hey guys its great to see you out having fun. Tough testing for any tent!

  • @TOMHEANEY100 yea it was tough even for the akto back out this weekend hopefully get another vid on soon

  • EXTREME !!! :-)

  • @Deanread cheers mate

  • LOL

Just gotta wuv being whipped by rain droplets at that velocity!! Hurts like f**k.!

Yeah, so glad that you got your GPS unit back.

Just love the sound of this video....tells the story.

You guys are a couple of hatters that is for F***ing sure Muss.

  • @BarefootsChild yea i sat there getting abused by rain andwind while dave made his vid lol

  • Thanks for the great video Paul...been waiting to see this ever since Dave uploaded his.

And it wasn't even raining either! LOL

  • @BarefootsChild it did rain mate when Dave got into his tent to do a bit of footage what felt like an hour lol I got lashed with 70mph rain I was cold to say the least and happy to get the fuck back home to get hammered lol

  • Another classic video! You are the only 2 on the entire web that would attempt a 'nice night under canvas' in 70+ mph winds - fantastic! That little Akto is amazing and puts a lot of other tents to shame. Great news on finding the Satmap as it would of been a real downer. So you used a GPS to find your lost GPS - gotta love those gadgets. That wind thingy is very cool indeed. Top vid and look forward to getting out into the hills with you boys soon

  • @chriscox303 if I had your tent mate I would push the boundaries even further maybe 1 day I shall have 1 or even the allak my hunt for 1 of these is on lol. I didnt use the satmap to find it I knew where i had dropped it getting back in the car but a couple had picked it up and left a note with number which was very kind of them. You should have been coming to the October wild camp going to be fun

  • @themuss28 I reckon the Jannu would do well in those winds but 1 freak gust and it still makes a pretty good parachute. I was referring to your Tom Tom on the windscreen mate, guiding you in. Gutted about October but I cant see me getting away - just too manic at present with work and family stuff. Looking forward to the snow though this winter. Planning to do a couple snow topped peaks in the Lakes and Wales so will be sure to give you boys a shout.

  • Welcome to the lost and found Satmap club, lost mine in snow with full GB card in it,about £450 to replace. Three sleepless nights later and with the help of a hired metal detector I managed to find it again. Its now lashed to my pack with paracord so I dont drop it again!

Only u can summon weather like that.

Puts a big smile on u'r face watching it.

  • @kilburnicus yea it was something else mate wish I took my voyager at least I could have errected the damn thing and got inside and watch the wind do its thang lol

  • I love all the hi tech gear you guys use....

When the wind hit 70 I would have had enough difficulty just walking never mind trying to pitch a bloody tent....Can't wait to see what you guys get up to next time out....You'll have to go some to beat that effort..............I'm glad you got your satmap back it made the whole trip worthwhile................take care.and good luck next time out.....

  • @MrJimmywalton cheers mate not too sure I'll beat it till I get a totally storm proof tent that I can actaully errect in a storm not VANGO thats for sure thanks for the comment

  • mad men just think yourselfs lucky it was`nt raining aswell ,nice try boys

  • @toffy63 actually it tried a few times but whiel Dave was playing with his camcoder in his tent with me sitting on the summit cairn it rained and it wasnt fun to be sitting there getting lashed with it lol it was cold too I measuerd 3c in the winds

  • Classic mate, great seeing your account of the trip and seeing the hunk with you haha, I will put a link to this at the end of my video.

  • @daveswildcamping if you video response it mate be better

  • Mad-eds the both of you, thank god you got the sat-map back. Take it you'll stay clear from vango from now on?

  • @northender2006 yea there a canny tent for car camping in the summer like a wild camper wanna be tent but it just aint got the minerals lol think my next tent will be a hilleberg one of the dome ones

  • @ahumberston thanks glad you liked it lol

  • Bloody brilliant video mate. Bloody brilliant!!! Welcome to the club :) Told you it would be bad out. Doubt Vango will help mate - you're the liability LOL How was Daves Akto? Pole bent? Misshapen? Any stronger and it looked like it take off in them winds LOL

  • @terrybnd surprisingly it never bent I don't know how much more it could have taken mind if it got stronger lol maybe shot off like his peg bag (sorry Dave) but that thing didn't hit the deck just flew with the wind

  • @themuss28 I am glad to say i was there when his bag blew out of his hands.....couldnt help but laugh :-)

  • Jesus, Have you spoke to Vango yet mate or not bothering ?

that Akto seems to stand up in anything although the pole towards the end looked like it was going to snap !! ..but never

loved it !! wish i would have been there

  • @chris25119600 they tweeted me giving a link so I could get it repaired but my reply to that was "I don't want to spend any money on a tent" 2 campers cant pitch in high winds when the tent is made to take storms???

  • Brilliant mate, you confirmed your mental status, lol.

  • @twighiker lol yea sane normal as they come lol
