many thanks to everyone, especially the crew working the turkey rock ranch area. you saved my family's cabin. my donations will get to you as long as i am alive.
What's the name of the first song please? Oh, yeah, and thanks for putting up this video. I remember when i was really little and we were packing our stuff to evacuate. The smell is definitely going to haunt me forever. I couldnt sleep forever. The orange glow at night, the smell, and especially right now when you drive through there. The emptiness just feels evil.
@FullTimeFreak2 I lived in Woodland Park, CO during this mess. I couldn't sleep at all either... due to the same reasons. The orange glow creped me out so much to where I couldn't sleep, the smell was horrid. I am happy that they stopped it before it hit Woodland Park, though... or else my life would have been destroyed as I knew it.
Thanks for uploading this video. It brings back very good memories (And very bad ones, like the fire it's self. It still was a sight to see... it was cool to see)
the fire started because a park ranger(LMAO) had a ring of fire type thing and she was burning a letter from her husband who was, i guess a bad husband(i dont know details) and so it went out of control and started the big fire. She was in jail for twelve years, and whats funny, is that the judge lived around the fire and his house had dense smoke or something so if it wasn't for the judges, house, then she would have been in jail for less years
whats funny is the person who started that huge fire was a park ranger...i was 9 when it happened and i remember everybody thought it was snowing, the entire ground was covered in ash is what it was. the sun was blotted out and it smelled like burning houses and trees for a week.
We got ash in our mouths at Centennial High School in Fort Collins as a result of this fire. I seem to recall another one at the same time in Red Feather, but I could be wrong.
is this the hayman or am i wrong? i remember ash falling down in colorado springs (were i live) one day i was alot younger so of course i was veryw orried and though it was very close heh but the new fire thats going on is pretty bad my friends grandfather donated the land and hes going nuts now that its on fire xD
the fire in the vid is the hayman fire. The question is there's a new fire? In colorado springs? One would think we'd hear about it, I live in Denver now.
i was in littleton (also now known as centennial) and i remembered that when i tried to walk outside, it was almost impossible. even the sun turned a dull orange because the smoke was so thick. and a lot of times when i went to like the super market or something, a lot of the cart attendants had to wear masks. it was terrible.
I am a wildland Firefighter in the Dalles, OR and all I have to say is god bless the firefighters who lost their lives fighting that fire, and I hope that asshole that started this shit gets what's comin to him
I'm glad you liked the video! It was a BIG fire - I walked out my back yard at 7 a.m. on the 9th and it was already a huge column! I think it ran 15 miles and burned approximately 60,000 acres on the 9th.
