I ve lived n worked in west for long time..And often seen my western collegues gettng baffled by me not understanding d languages of my othr collegues,n yet get along as a hand in glove ...well ..thats wt india is all abt. So, i wud say ,perception is grossly wrong.
@ shuaybjethro, Ths is 1st time on youtube, ive noticed different opinions or disputes penned in such a respectable fashion..kuddos to all u writers....
i want to ask shuaybjethro, did u hv previlage of visiting/staying in India anytime?
We donot think delhi or bombay is India! NO Sir,this doesnot hpn in corporate ,media or any other worlds... This is huge misleading statement..
the only part in the song that i liked a lot is the beginning where the girl is singing the hai khuda hafiz, its so relaxing and calm, loved the whole slow motion slapping and hair flowing too XD
I watched both Yuva and Ayutha Ezhuthu and honestly, no hard feelings and I am not saying this because I am a tamil or whatsoever, I feel that Ayutha Ezhuthu is one step a better movie than Yuva. I prefered Trisha and Siddharth as compared to Vivek and Kareena. They had better chemistry I think. And Surya was one class above. Devgan looked too old to play the role. But all in all, both movies were good and deserves a round of applause. Hats off to Mani Ratnam....
i see hindi and telugu movies.....Yuva in telugu is better than hindi, Surya is more suitable than ajaydevgan. It is same with Sakhi movie, it is better in telugu.
I noticed long time ago that people from different regions of India don't really know the cinema of neighbouring regions and languages. I know only a small fraction of Indian cinema, but I watch films in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayam with Eng sub, . For me it's really strange this trend of remaking films in so many languages, instead of using dubbing. But I'm aware that is connected with regional stars and aesthetics, but damps creativity of scriptwriters.
The biggest blockbuster Ghajini is a frame-to frame remake of Tamil film. The only differences are songs and the ending. The same director, lead actress, villain, and supporting actor (that who play an inspector). Watching both films I can only say, that bollywoodk remake is superficially and techcnically better. People who praise "Ghajini" 2008, haven't watched original film from 2005. Tamil version was a very good and creative remake of Memento, it wasn't such a boring copy, sort of deja vu.
shuaybjethro: Why do you say that "Yuva" is better and more refined when you admit that you haven't seen it? "Yuva" is a good movie, but is less authentic and Ajay Devgan is too old to play his part. "Yuva" as a bollywood production was better marketed, and therefore is more known, but sincerely it looks like a Tamil movie in Bollywood package. It's different from other Bollywood films, but if you see "Aayutha Ezhuthu" than you'll understand which movie is more moving and simply better.
Mani Ratnam shot two film versions of the same story at the same time: "Yuva" and "Ayitha Ezhuthu." The Tamil version was better, "Yuva" simly looked like its remake. But, I like more Kareena Kapoor's Mira and "Khuda Hafiz". Though the music is the same and picturisation almost identical, I like it more.:) I like its energy and the feeling of falling in love that it expresses so powerfully. It's simply a great song.:)
the pictuarization is awesome

In the first sentence I meant: "when you haven't seen "Aayutha Ezhuthu""
Btw, when you see both versions (full versions/not fragments), then we can talk, discuss and compare them.:)
