always amazes me how those d#$%heads bash marijuana use... u smoke a joint and u relax.. that's wat it's for... .. r we supposed to work our as#$s off all day and make the boss richer for the rest of our lifes... ??? take a break and smoke a bit why don't ya??? .. or vice versa...
Last guy was talking about greatest prosperity, because of floating fiat currencies. *lol* The greatest prosperity was the 19th century, especially the latter part. From 1870 to 1900 prices dropped about 33%. I hope we can see that in our lifetimes - that which comes only with hard money.
Kudlow used to croon (1999) that there wasn't any financial trouble in USA because the price of gold was low. Now he agrees with Michael Metz, who says the price of gold is inconsequential. Kudlow is a moron. Makes Cramer look downright brilliant. Of course we've had financial prosperity since we've had floating currency. We've maxed out the national credit card. Now what? Moron!!!
The Fed/CFR/CIA/NWO criminals probably WOULD kill a president Ron Paul just like they did JFK who authorized silver certificates to compete w/fiat toilet paper FRNs.
The Fed has been robbing Americans since 1913, is privately owned and for profit, and unlike before it's creation, charges us interest for using OUR OWN MONEY!!!
The same bankers were behind big govt Hamilton as well as Jackson's, Lincoln's, Garfield's & JFK's assassins, were also behind the Federal Reserve - the Rothschilds.
if the gov supports competing currency, why did they raid and confiscate the gold that was backing the liberty dollar? each liberty dollar could be redeemed for an amount of gold, or silver.
Since our money is not redeemable in gold anymore, I guess the price of gold has no bearing on inflation. However, if it were based on the price of gold, inflation would have long since scared the shit out of us so badly that toilets would be relegated to the history books.
I mean, if you want, there's an open market for gold. You can purchase gold, and sell gold. Or you can purchase certificates indexed to the price of gold, and sell those. All online if you wish, as well. I know it's not the same thing, though.
Does anybody know why America's gold reserves "have not been audited for years and years"? I don't get it. Seems like knowing what's there (gold AND silver) would be rather important, even if our currency is not tied to those quantities of metal. If "Fort Knox" were robbed, would the government even know what was taken?
As a kid I use to walk around with pockets full of silver, pre 1965 coins. Today I can get about $15 in federal reserve notes for one dollar in silver. Thats how devalued our dollar has become.
Until 1776, beaver and deer skins as well as tobacco were used for currency. If we allowed a commodity other than paper bills to function as currency today, what would it be? My roommate thinks it would be gasoline, a pretty decent guess. In case you're thinking, "Food," note that the colonials couldn't eat pelts, skins, or tobacco. So, it would be something we can live without--but don't want to. In my case, wine. WHAT SAY YOU ALL?
Addendum: When pelts, skins, and tobacco were used as currency, actual specie (British sterling, Spanish dollars, and any number of other currencies) were also used. So, to clarify, my question is this: What one thing do you need or want so much that, if someone gave it to you in exchange for a good or service you provided, it would be as good (to you) as getting actual dollars. See what I mean? My curiosity is raging. Speak, my friends.
I vote for silver. Americas gold reserves have not been audited in years and years and years, making the existence of what we used to believe was 'stored in Ft. Knox' is not longer our and therefor subject to the whims and manipulations of the foreign powers/elites who've presumably absconded with it and hoarded.
you can guarantee Ron Paul wouldnt abuse his presidential powers. He would be in the congress 99% of the time trying to get things passed. With constitutional lawyers next to him (ow wait he doesn't need any of those)
In 1960, the dollar was still tied to 1 oz of silver--in fact, you can still get 1-oz Silver Eagles, and they're still marked $1, but you'll pay over $14 for them because of the price of silver.
In 1960, $1--or one ounce of silver--would buy: a movie with popcorn, four gallons of gas, or three gallons of milk.
In 2007, one ounce of silver will buy you a movie with popcorn, four gallons of gas, or three gallons of milk.
Ron Paul's economic plan is brilliant. Competitive currency will ultimately bring the Federal Reserve bank to it's knees. That sounds good to me. I've donated so far $250...I plan to give on Dec 16th...Let's make this HUGE!
Imagine this on a small scale in your household. Your spouse runs up a $100,000 credit card bill and when you suggest paying it off, living on a budget, saving and investing..he/she says "NO, look at all the nice stuff we have. We have never been seen so much prosperity before I started running up debt."
Aw man, I wish they would've let that last guy talk for a little longer so I could hear some more hilarious and original jokes. All libertarians smoke weed? Hahaha, I've never heard that joke before!
He doesn't agree with Ron paul on foriegn policy? Thats what is bankrupting our country. We waste billions driving up our massive debt overseas. if you want to save billions tax payers, get out of Iraq ASAP.
ya funny its a round table of monetary talk and the one key element to the fall of our markets is the billions of dollars a day we borrow overseas. TIME TO WISE UP. Greed takes over the logical part of the brain im sorry to say.....VOTE RON PAUL!
Money is great, but not everything. I gave on Nov5 and will give again. Starting Nov. 15 everyone must wear Ron Paul gear. I mean everyone. We need to increase his name recognition to everyone without internet or youtube use. We need to increase his voting base. We can make the hats ourselves or buy them or whatever. But I want to see everyone wearing his hats. I'm the only one where I live wearing them, and I kid you not people ask me who is Ron Paul. This works, I'm telling you.
The power to print money is always too tempting for congressmen whom are eager to buy votes with through government programs. The power to print money can not be kept in check. History has shown it over and over again!
At least if Congress printed the money, they wouldn't have to pay interest for the money printed, which is what the income tax is for, to pay off the interest, only that. A debt that is impossible to pay because for every dollar printed by the fed, interest is charged. A gold backed currency would limit the amount of money that can be printed.

Ron Paul is amazing. If he does this he'll get rid of the central bank, federal reserve, and shoot our dollar value through the roof! Also we won't have to pay property tax, and INCOME TAX and so many other crazy ones! He is America's last hope!
Caution. He endorsed one specific aspect of Dr Paul's fiscal policy, the need for a currency to be backed by gold. That's not a full endorsement. But it does go a way to shutting up those that call him "crazy", and "kooky". Perhaps the networks won't be so quick to use those terms now.
Kudlow thinks Muslim radicals attack us because we're free. LOL
And the guy in the bottom right believes $60 trillion in debt is "great prosperity". Apparently borrowing $2 billion a day from China doesn't matter either. What a jackass.
I think Ron Paul is the only candidate who knows his economics well. If I were him, I'll keep bringing economic topics up and the other candidates will go, huh?
He knew that too, I think he was just trying to twist words around to make it sound Ron Paul was wrong. That idiot in the bottom right square probably doesn't even follow the gold market.
LeCamp and Metz are buffoonish mouthpieces for the central bankers. Keynesian monetary policy fails on it's face and the incredible debt of the neocon war machine is devastating our nation. You can not spend your way to growth. Central planning of socialism has failed. So stop resurrecting it. Free markets and sound money are the way to achieve financial stability. These idiots are leading you astray. Look no further than BOA, and now Citi to see the criminal stupidity.
