I hate this so much... this cartoon was so good it was good enough for all ages,... i remember laughing at it when i was little and im 22 now and i still laugh at it because i get the references, but kids now do not get any of it... if ANYBODY wants to help me get this back on the air, not only thumbs up me but contact me, im able to make "shorts" and i can draw these pretty good :)

@123goldenlily heh, no it wasn't. Animanics was aired from 1993 to 1998, whereas Spore came out in 2008.

What the monolith and in fact the whole episode is a reference to is Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film "2001: A Space Odyssey".

The final line "Now there's a Space Oddity!" is a poke at David Bowie's 1969 single by the same name.

how did warner brothers get permission to draw in the "disney" style? wouldn't they have been sued er something?

@pauletteking Sued? nah! The style the warners are based on is whats known as rubber hose, there were lots of charecters drawn in that style during the 20's and 30's by many studios. Disney cant hold a copyright on a drawing style.

@Praylv Not true. My sister was born after this show ended, and when I introduced my sister to this show, she loved it. To this day she still sings Animaniacs songs around the house and quotes the show on a regular basis. The problem is that we don't have quality programing like this on tv anymore, so kids settle for subpar programing.
