I like the scene where she first takes off her face mask at 5:57 the way her hair flows out of the mask is just gorgeous. This scene with Tiara proves on can be a strong warrior and feminine at the same time.
I know Graham was flawed and had a warped sense of right and wrong but I don't think Kagetsu had to go as far as killing him. That what made me feel bad for him. He had good intentions but he didn't know how to act on them. Even if the relationship was unbalanced, Tiara could've stepped up and taught Graham that they were equals.
I don't feel sorry for Graham because I thought he and Tiara were suited to each other - it would NOT work out. But it wouldn't work out for the same reasons I feel pity him. Graham came into the world traumatized and hurt. This was never corrected. Without no say in the matter, he was thrust into a relationship that required him to exist solely for one person. Nobody supported him; to Tiara, he was a pet, not a partner. It's no wonder he snapped. What he did was wrong, but it's still tragic.
Seeing him in an abusive, inequal relationship, traumatized to begin with, and never allowed to heal or given a way to cope, it's sad. Remember what the Throne said: partnership wasn't equal, and it decided that arbitrarily. Graham was a confused sentient being with actual feelings unfairly forced to depend entirely on Tiara, so it's unsurprising that he became violently attached. I'm NOT saying they should've been together; that would have been just as unhealthy for both of them.
I can't really feel sorry for Graham because I find him very creepy, and I do agree that Kagetsu is a better fit for Tiara... But I'm not saying I like Kagetsu. He pisses me off. All the girlies are sooo in love with him, and also he completely disregards the "partners". Japolo mentioned as much and Leon agreed and Kagetsu STILL didn't acknowledge that either of them existed.
Overall, I believe Japalo is the very best character in this series. Because Japalo is amazing.

It feels to me like Tiara and Graham feels more like master and servant than partners. Probably due to the fact that neither Graham or Tiara recognized each other as equals. Graham treated her like some divine being. Tiara took responsibility for him like he's some pet under her control.
I only have Tiara-Japolo and Lena-Leon to compare with, but both relationship are more partner like. These two pairs have effective communication at least even though the actual contract isn't really equal.
I find how heartless people are to be quite amusing, after reading these comments its just further shows how the moment something that is deemed as imperfect comes around people freak out, does no one understand that Graham was brought into the world flawed, its quite evident in the way he acts and in the fact that he rarely speaks, its the equivalent of walking into an asylum and torching the place because it is filled with people you dont understand, you people all sicken me
Also, lol at all the "my poor bb Graham" comments. Really? His episodes proved what a contrast he is to Japolo: Instead of supporting Tiara and complementing her moody nature all he did was show that he was unable to respect boundaries and had a warped idea of what "protecting Tiara" meant, coming onto her and killing the guards. He was angry with Kagetsu for leaving Tiara even after he explained why, so he thinks killing Kagetsu is going to make Tiara happier? Graham needed to go.

Just a quick note to some commenters, I saw a lot of people referring to Tiara's "demon form" in the comments, but back when the show was first released most fans were calling it her "summon form." Which I think fits better with the show and what the powerful Magic Users like Tiara and Lena actually do with their powers.

I'm always amazed by this anime- the amount you can know and care about Graham in just TWO episodes (only one of which he's grown up in) is amazing. It makes me tear up EVERY time when he disappears :( one of my fav animes~!

Graham is pretty much the best character on this show, next to Japolo. Now, I'm just watching all this for the first time and is it just me or do things seem awfully rushed? Theres just not enough explanation for all the things going on in here and consistency is minimal. Like, why the hell did Tiara hate Lena so much?? And why is Lena in all the credits? She wasn't a very central character. The story was good and the animation was rock out, but I think the story was conveyed poorly.

I think it's just because most people know what it's like to feel that much love for someone only to be dumped for someone who doesn't care nearly as much. They're probably just over identifying.
That being said Graham is my fav character and Kagetsu is my least favorite. However thinking logically I do think Graham went overboard in trying to kill Kagetsu, and Kagetsu only killed him in self defense so I honestly can't hold that against him.

The canon couples are Tiara/Sara or Tiara/Kagetsu. He's treated like an animal, by Tiara, the supposed hero of the story, and for that he should be pitied. His character's situation highlights the setting's disturbing caste system, and yet, you guys prefer shipping over plot. Geez, I hate ship wars.
You can't force your heart to love someone, so Tiara couldn't just say: Hey Graham is loyal so I love him. Also if they would've become a couple it wouldn't last long, well in the real world though, hence women can't handle guys, who do all for them, they getting bored of them pretty quick... sad but true.
So sad... Since Tiara were to selfish with her feelings for Kagetsu she didn't realized Grahams loyality nor his feelings for her. Really sad. I'm impressed how they put that in mere 6 episodes, wonder if the cash decided the length of the Anime or if it was 6 episodes to begin with.
This is so sad! I think it terrible that Graham was killed after two episodes, did Tiara know how he felt for her? I would have liked it if he lived even just an episode longer, I'd want her to know and be in a predicament

CLAMP has nothing to do with Shamanic Princess. It just so happens that the woman who did the character designs for anime based on one of their manga, did the character designs for Shamanic Princess.
The only thing in common is like one of the guys that did character design or something for Shamanic Princess also did character design (or something) for Magic Knight Rayearth. This anime came out in like...'96-'98 or something, and it's nothing like CLAMP's style.
It's a lot like CLAMP's older style actually. It really makes me reminiscent of their old goodies like RG Veda...man I wish CLAMP could go back to writing awesome stories like that one...
Thats just how they decided to order the episodes lol.
I guess Sarah was also a nutralizer, same with Kagetsu, and they need nutralizers to sustain the throne of yord, and I guess the Nutralizers end their life within the Throne.

The writing for the 1st 4 episodes are kinda shallow but the last 2 are pretty good.
Strange that Kagetsu never apologise to Tiara about Gharam.
Or that Tiara didn't even say anything about Kagetsu killing Graham...its like he didn't exist in the 1st 4 episodes.

Clamp is so infamous for wonderful series like this, especially magical girl ones heehee!

CLAMP has nothing to do with Shamanic Princess. It just so happens that the woman who did the character designs for anime based on one of their manga, did the character designs for Shamanic Princess.

Oh I read "a must see for clamp fans" on a DVD of this anime once, so I made an assumption. Thanks for clearing that up.

The only thing in common is like one of the guys that did character design or something for Shamanic Princess also did character design (or something) for Magic Knight Rayearth. This anime came out in like...'96-'98 or something, and it's nothing like CLAMP's style.

It's a lot like CLAMP's older style actually. It really makes me reminiscent of their old goodies like RG Veda...man I wish CLAMP could go back to writing awesome stories like that one...

shouldnt the 2 last episodes be episode 1 and 2?
it would of made more sence from the beginning, and i probablky wasnt listening or something but how did Sara suddeny get trapped in to the painting

Nope, episode 5 and 6 are just a flash back.
Thats just how they decided to order the episodes lol.
I guess Sarah was also a nutralizer, same with Kagetsu, and they need nutralizers to sustain the throne of yord, and I guess the Nutralizers end their life within the Throne.
I'm pretty sure thats how it goes.
And I also love this anime!
