I have to agree with dvarblo (except for the "gay" part... such an overused word)... I left the theater after seeing Alien 3 and was so disappointed... When I was young I never appreciated the character building that goes on in the first half hour of this film. Those no characters you don't care about. Even Gorman comes off as a guy tragically out of his depth. Hell, even BURKE is the guy you love to hate.

What the hell was that turd at the end, that alien-human hybrid had to be the shittiest movie monster of the 90's (and a lot of shit came out back then). That movie was an insult to the quadrilogy.
Alien 3 had more than just a couple of problems. Newt and Hick were killed during the opening credits. YOU DON'T DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS EVER! Imagine you're watching Star Wars Episode V and just in the opening it says "oh yeah, by the way, Han and Leia died in a fire on the Milenium Falcon." Thats lame. The characters were all flat: Not every one with double y-chromosomes is a sexual-delinquent. And I'm not even mentioning the plot holes between Alien 3 and 4.

alien 3 was a fuckup because of too many rewrites and producer meddling. would have really liked to see david fincher make a good alien movie that would have been closer to ridley scott's original.

Meh, the third movie still left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. Besides to remake the third movie the studio execs would want them to remake the first two as well and possibly shit all over the classics in the process.
Just do what I do, pretend 3 never happened, Ripley and the survivors of the second movie got picked up by the Marines and everyone lived a xenomorph free happy life.
Or Newt grew up to be a bad ass Xenomorph hunter, take your pick.

About Newt meeting Predators: That would be an interesting idea but I gave up on an Alien vs. Predator movie after everyone hated both the AVPs.
You know, I'm writing an Aliens story that takes up after Alien and Aliens only while ignoring the others, with Newt and Hicks as the main characters.

@FNGLHR Ripley is alive and well, she's back on Earth while Newt and Hicks are off world, Ripley will appear in my story but it will only be in a cameo, a very short role
