But he seems to prefer Bayern, not Barca. And why wouldn't he: at Barca, he couldn't be sure whether he can dislodge Dani Alves. At Bayern there's a place for him, as Lahm would move to the left side again. And he'd be meeting quite a few fellow countrymen there.

He helped out on that position in both the national team and the club, but's it's certainly not his ideal position, you could see that against Manchester. Instead, it looks like Bayern will trust Diego Contento with the job, a 20 year-old who came out of Bayern's youth academy. Contento isn't bad but I'm not excited about the prospect. Youth obsession.
