I play a lot of hard rock, and technical metal. I used to have so many issues with all of my instrument and vocal tracks conflicting. This tips have DRASTICALLY improved my mixes. Just wanted to give you my thanks. Hope you end up doing more of these videos.
With your setup, the vocal wet/dry balance will change, unless you also route the fx returns to the vocal subgroup. And you better hope that no non-vocal channels are also being sent to those same effects!
Thanks a lot!. Really. I just knew about your first mixing tips last December, and when you posted that you where doing it again I was really happy to find all this tips you've shared with us. I trully respect and admire what you do, based on the examples you gave. And I can just say thanks again :D.
You've helped more than those eternal tutorials I've seen before, and with just 5-minute videos -o-
Now I'm defenitely saving money to buy your dvd's.
Thanks soo much for these great tips. I was wondering what band and song was used in this video?? I've seen you use it before, but I really wanna hear a full version of this song. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO IT IS! THANKS
Thank you for making this series which I have followed, enjoyed, and learnt from. I know that I'll continue to have in my mind very much of what you have had to impart as a trusted constituent in the acoustic foundation on which to base my presentation of music. Its been really practical, consumable and valued by it seems many people so I hope too perhaps revise and further our continued experience in your next program. Thanks.
Thank You For all your amazing tips n tricks they have been really helpful my mixes already sound great looking forward to 5 minutes to a better mix III :) if u have the time
I've thoroughly enjoyed all these 31 videos, and i'm kinda sad that this series is over. I look forward to your future videos and thank you oh so much for sharing!
Thank you for the greater info! Every video either had a little bit of something that I hadn't thought of or inspired me to think of new things and it was so great to know! I'm gonna go watch it all over again to get the most out of it!
I have two more questions. First, What song is this? I've heard it before. I noticed that all of the songs you used were common worship songs, btw. That was pretty cool to me! And second, how did you get the original mixes for it?
Thanks for all of your videos and tips included. Some of them have opened a new door in my mind to new ideas. :) Keep the good stuff comin' ;) God bless you
Graham, seriously thank you fro all your time and the tips you give out to all of us. really grateful I stumbled on your web site and learned about 5 minutes to a better mix. I have learned so much from you. Again, you are "The Man!"
Hey Graham, thought I would tell you that I went back and watched the "key input sidechain compressor" vid, as I applied it to a friends podcast audio! It is a new itunes podcast, with music as an intro, and then he starts talikng like a radio d.j. Thanks for making ducking audio so easy! Weekly photo tips is the podcast, if you check it out in the near future!
Can you do a video talking about how to set input levels when you're doing the initial recording?
