The actual game graphics look much better on a TV than on YouTube.

On YouTube, it looks like a Nintendo DS game.

On a modern television, it looks more like a GameCube game.

Sure, it's far from the Wii's most impressive-looking game, but it's supposed to be. It's supposed to maintain the classic look, and have a nostalgic appearance. After playing the original SMB for NES, I felt right at home just by looking at this game.

yep, it is ice flower's 3rd game appearance but first sidescrolling appearance. Thats why toads only throw propeler suits and penguen suits in the intro.

Whenever I play this game, I always try to do a sidestep backflip. Like in SM64 how you run, turn the other way, and jump. I have no idea why. Much be too much Donkey Kong on the Gameboy. But the lack of Classic Controller support is fucking the dumbest most obvious mistake this game has.

@40PrettyLame Good choice. This game is good, no doubt...but it's not something I'm dying to play every day. It's not one of those games that I constantly want to come back to. It's good, and there's nothing wrong with it, but it's not awesome. I think they focused too much on the local multiplayer, and forgot to make it fun, the same way New Super Mario Bros. on the DS was fun.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like this might be the best 2D Mario of them all. I mean, I love me some Mario 3, but this has basically everything Mario 3 has and more. It is a bit on the easy side though; I'm on the world 7 castle and I haven't gotten a game over or received the option to use Super Guide yet.

Tomorrow, I'm starting this game from scratch and I'm going to try and look past the frustrations. When I first played I was aggravated by the difficulty and I'll admit, I threw the Wii Remote frequently and at one point even bit into it like a toddler in anger, but now I know how hard the game is I'll overwrite my failed 2nd-world file and try it all again.

When you're in world 9, you can die as many times as you want, you'll never get super guide. & there is no checkpoints either. & 2 levels have the hardest star coins to get in the entire game & 5/8 of the levels are oddly long, & 2 are moving screens (slow) . But, after you finish the game 100% you'll reward yourself greatly.
