TERRIBLE AUDIO. You had the volume too low on the upload or during the original video recording. It's muffled, and you can scarcely understand what the woman is saying!
i was half expecting to hear gene do this interview in french, she studied in europe for two years and spoke the language fluently. of course all those shock treatments ruined a lot of her memory.
listening to her reveals a very intelligent person with a strong sense of honesty and realism. it makes her all the more impressive.
Forty years after I first saw Gene in Laura, the sight of her face still makes me gasp.
Even more wonderful is the resilience and beauty of her spirit. Her autobiography reveals not one trace of vanity, only the desire to work hard and be a good person.
6:03. You are still alive in our hearts and minds. 6::43. Your teeth are just perfect for me. Glad you didn't change them. Drallivehc, so many appreciate this posting. You are wonderful.
I am so happy to have the privilage to see this video you cannot imagine it somehow makes the connection, that none of the tribute work no matter how good.I did not know that Gene had ever given an interview. Thanks FOR POSTING.
@HAPPYTHELEAF Have you seen this tribute of her of Mrs Muir and the Ghost? - oops, you have. How about someone else, who was also quite a girl, Louise Brooks? Good hairdressers vid from England how to make a Louise Brooks bob, different I know, but Louise has almost the same affect on us certain people,
Thank you so much for uploading this! Im a huge Gene Tierney fan and have been looking for an interview of her for ages. The interview is fascinating showing the tragic side of her life as well as her sense of humour. Its great to see the clips of 'Leave her to Heaven' and hear her talk about the film. (I personally think its better than Laura)
(sorry for the delay) Im from England. I recently had the oppurtunity to watch a restored version on the big screen at the British Film Institute. Id previously only seen it on television (it seems to be a weekday afternoon regular), and I was blown away, the colour is stunning and I noticed so many new details ( there is a chess set in the front of shot when Ellen takes Quinton to the library, its a perfect symbol of the confrontation thats about to take place)

It's from a very old tape.
But you're the first one to tell me that. Are your ears or compter ok ? ;o)
As far as I'm concerned, I understantd perfectly what she says, and I'm not Anglophone.

Listen to what cigarettes did to her voice.

@49bobbyk
Early in her career she began smoking to lower her voice, because according to her, "I sounded like an angry Minney Mouse."

Like Laura, she had authentic magnetism.
Thanks for this rare treat.

Hello! Where are you from ?
I'm glad you liked it. "Leave her to heaven" is a Cult movie to me, and like you, I think it's way better than Laura. I watch it regularly.
Drallivehc 1 year ago
@Drallivehc I have to say I like "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir" better than both of them. But she's good in all of them.
