I agree with the uploader, Interpol sucks now. Their quality dropped in equal increments with each subsequent album following their debut. TOTBL however is one of the best albums of all time.
Seeing them all together like this brought me to tears. They were barely getting in the spotlight around this time and I was so happy for them too. They deserved it since Fcked ID came out. Interpol is legitimately what helped me through depression and helped me push through the hardest of days. By far, one of the best bands of all time.
I suppose it all comes down to opinion but i think this is one of the lesser performances played. something was up with pauls voice which you can tell because he got self conscious and didn't do the falsetto before the last bit. it didn't sound as together as it should have.
I also saw them a few weeks ago and they were amazing!!
our love to admire has a few great songs on it and julian plenti is also pretty good. not stupendous but it is decentstuff.
No need to get feisty, now. I partially agree with Grox. I absolutely adore Bright Lights with a passion, and Antics almost as much. But OLTA just falls short. I've been trying to get into it, but aside from Rest My Chemistry and The Lighthouse, that simply requires great effort. The songs are slightly dull and the hooks don't stick. It has a certain positivity whose abscence made the previous records dark and unique. I'm hoping Lights doesn't set the tone for the new album.
That is a truly horrible sound system. The bad thing is, the average person sitting at home will get an impression of the band partly based on the sound.
I think OLTA is just as good as TOTBL and Antics, just a bit different. Pioneer to the Falls, No I in Threesome, The Heinrich Maneuever, Mammoth, Pace is the Trick, All Fired Up, Rest My Chemistry, and Wrecking Ball can definitely hold a candle to candle to Next Exit, Evil, Take You on a Cruise, Slow Hands, Not Even Jail, Public Pervert, C'Mere, A Time to Be So Small, Untitled, Obstacle 1, NYC, PDA, SHTTA, Stella, Roland, The New, Leif Erikson, and Specialist.
all there albums are great man.. you got to appreciate their music.. if you liked their first two albums how could you not like Our love to admire.. i mean theres a F*%king deer on the cover man!!!..

Our love to admire is terrible. I was extremely disappointed but hopefully they clean up their half-assed attempts very soon. Julian Plenti has a few good songs, but again, disappointment. I'm praying they make a comeback.
dont have the cd but ive heard a couple of songs off it: Pioneer to the Falls, Pace is the Trick, The Scale, Rest My Chemistry are all good songs. Being how fucken amazing TotBL, its pretty hard to top their first album, and im surprised that they were still able to dish out amazing songs in their 2nd and 3rd albums too. All bands change, but i think interpol have remained amazingly loyal to their unique style.... but if they didnt, i would agree with you and say they now suck.
julian plenti IS NOT INTERPOL... that's like saying Interpol is the same as Magnetic Morning. Our Love to Admire isn't their best album, but it doesn't fuckin suck -
@THECLAYSTER I hate it when people use the "well, you can't do it better yourself" argument. You don't need to be a world class chef to know whether or not something tastes good. Same with music.
@dandelionhero ; Well then in all honesty, to both of you, you don't have to listen to it. Your comparison of music to food was good, and clever, but the fact still stands, OLTA is an acquired taste. I hated it the first few listens, but ever since the news of a new album and touring, it's caught me, and I can listen to it the same way I listen to Antics and Bright Lights. I didn't like Antics first few listens either, oh well.
To state that Interpol sucks, when they clearly don't is BS.
@Grox Skyscraper is related to interpol of course, but it's just Paul Banks dude, and Julian Plenti is as old or even older than interpol, and OLTA doesn't suck it sounds interpol from the first to the last minute, besides, bands evolve or would you like to see interpol ten years from now like scorpions or guns and roses, releasing the same prefabricated shit over and over?

Haha, actually OLTA was a masterpiece.
Your opinion is flawed, and you are no Interpol fan, don't bother buying their upcoming CD's because you don't deserve them in any respect. Get lost.

@Grox
So what exactly is wrong with either of those albums?
Go make an album half as good as Julian Plenti or OLTA and then you can have an opinion.
