Is this a new style? Cause I got a set of power blocks except you have to remove or add inner 5 pound weights and they only slide by 10 pounds and not so smoothly as he was doing it.
Check out the Titan adjustable dumbbell. I have used the PB and played with the selectech at the store. Both weren't good enough for the money to me. I searched the internet and found Titan. Took a chance on the money back guarantee and have been pumping new adjustable iron ever since. I sold all my spin on to a friend and he is saving for a set of Titans himself. These things have a drive shaft running through the handle and are awesome to lift with. Great dumbbells!!
I use these as well, ten times better value than the Bowflex crappy dumbbells. These are all steel, great quality and are small enough to do lots of maneuvers with. Great video demo!
i disagree, i have the 50 lb set and i dont like it. it doesn't feel natural like the bowflex selecttech. Annnnndd, it's too much work to increase by 5 lb increments. Selecttech dumbells are super easy and feel more comfortable. you should try them out!! anyone wanna buy my powerblocks?? 50 lbs!
Just bought a pair of PowerBlock Sport 9.0's (replacing the Elites). These things rock, Nautilus Selectech dont even compare in build quality or ease of use. The Selectech's were rattling peices of junk, even my girlfriend could tell they were built like crap. PowerBlocks are expandable to 130 pounds per side (260lb bench press) and are technically adjustable in 2.5, 5, and 10 pound incriments (2.5lbs but unbalanced, wouldnt make a difference for things like bicep curls). BUY POWERBLOCKS!
I just posted the same thing in the other videos because it is the truth. Just try both and you will see which system is better. The selectechs are great for the casual workout, but anyone who has ever pressed anything heavy can tell the difference between junk (selectech) and something thats engineered/built to last (powerblocks). check my other videos, I dont have anything to do with the Powerblock company. your probably a 150lb goof that just wasted $600 on selectechs and is try to justify it
you wont be sorry, the only thing wrong with the power blocks are 2 handed behind the neck tricep extensions and wrist curls. They also maybe a bit tight on the hands, but im 275lbs at 5'9" and it hasnt been much of an issue. Make sure you chalk up the grip when there new or else there too stick and uncomfortable.
@killerkowalczyk I have SelectTech and after 5 weeks, one of the plastic discs is not being gripped securely by the metal mechanism and falling off - are these wholly metal ?
@SiliconDustCatcher the scenario you just described is the reason why I didnt not buy the selectechs especially after I picked up the powerblocks too. The guy at the shop told me that the selectechs were notorious for not picking up plates. The PowerBlock 9.0's are all metal plates and bars. the inner grips are a high strength resin and a steel/rubber grip. the grips are great and very stong. you cant however drop them like normal dumbells, but I never did that anyways.

How much you selling it for, mate ?

Thanks. I was looking to see these in action. A lot less awkward to use than I thought.

Interesting how you posted the exact same thing on another powerblock video. Do you work for them or something? That is pretty low.

No and No. I'm leaning more towards powerblocks at the moment. Probably getting the sport 9.0's this week.

I thought the newer sport models improved on the space between the grips. That way wrist curls wouldn't be a problem.
airplaneking 2 years ago
the new ones are slightly better than the old ones, however the grip is slightly larger in diameter
killerkowalczyk 2 years ago
how much are they
jef1755 2 years ago
about $650 Canadian for the sportblock 9.0 (5-90lbs)
