  • Or...Well done to Chris Craft for thinking ahead. In 20 years we'll all be driving a version of this.

It's the idea guys...not the application.

  • to me it makes more sense in a coastal fishing boat. especially if you use the top of a fly deck to put solar panels on to charge the system. That way you could troll with the electrical system. Essentially, it would just be a glorified internal trolling motor. Not really worth the money. A biodiesel boat might be more interesting.

  • very interesting hahanot like the hybrid system will be of much use in a boat cause most of the time you are at cruising speed therefore the electric drive will not propell the boat to those speeds. The only time u would use that is if u are pulling back into port so ur really not saving that much fuel

  • It's not about the fuel savings, it is about polution in the harbors.

  • there is alot of technology going into greatly reducing pollution from engines anyway they run very very clean these days, you obviously haven't seen a Evinrude lately have ya? And besides what difference does it make if pollutes in the harbor or in the open water pollution is pollution

  • Of course we have all seen the E-Techs and the FICHT that blew up power heads every week. There is a HUGE difference in polution. 1) boats polute way more at idle than they do running fast 2) there is much less flow in harbors than in open water, so the polution does not get cleaned out as fast. and 3) how about leaving the harbor silently and not disturbng your neibor. But I you are probably a bt self absorbed to worry about how you affect other people.

  • screw that, you like silent boats alot of people I know love the noise, in fact I'm thinking of getting a nice 1999 Cobalt 206 with a 350 Mercruiser in and the first thing I'm doing is putting Captains Call exhaust on it from Corsa Performance. And who says all boats are loud when I drove that 206 with through prop exhaust it really wasn't all that bad, this technology to me is pointless I think we should focus more of the garbage being thrown into freshwater bodies then a little exhaust

  • That is your choice, but you should not be so negative about people trying to make a difference. And by the way, I am leading the way to keep the Zebra mussels off of Tahoe, so I know what you mean about fresh water lakes.

  • yeah they can do some serious damage to things if not taken care of. I do appreciate efforts to go green but I'm not like super worried or over passionate about it for the most part

  • What a joke, they're just jumping on the bandwagon.

  • Dude, you are a joke. New stuff, not bandwagon.

  • hybrid technology isn't new at all maybe to the boat world but not new
