I remember the same negative reactions to Stephen Hagan's heroic battle to get the Ni*ger Brown Stand taken down at the Toowoomba sports oval. Shame and ignorance caused Australia's politicians to go into damage control mode and try to fob this off and cover up a major embarrassment. They did it by trying to laugh at Hagan and ignorant uneducated people were posting negative comments not unlike what I have seen here in reaction to Charlie Teo. Hagan finally won but not after many threats & hate!
Charlie Teo has done the right thing to bring this up. I know it makes some people feel uncomfortable with guilt & shame when someone like Teo exposes an embarrassing fact like this. Yes it is disgraceful that it exists in Australia but it needs to be addressed. Just like a true doctor, Charlie Teo has made a diagnosis of an illness. Now it's up to the rest of Australia to be the specialist & treat this cancer called racism. God bless you Charlie Teo for your correct diagnosis.

It is absolutely true, although saddening. I am an Australian living abroad in America. I have never seen racism like I do in Australia as a young adult. When you go to bars or clubs, it is not a fight over a girl or a crew / gang or what not like it is in America, but fights over racial minorities. You have Lebanese fighting other groups such as Asians, Islanders, Whites etc. Even the elder Australians will ask you "what is he?" I always replied Australian....go figure.
