@sniperkid389 the MD-11 has winglets , the DC-10 doesnt, the MD-11 has sorter horizontal tailplanes, a straight cut tail, and is longer ans skinnier, the DC-10 has relativley larger horizontal tailplanes, a round cut tail, and is shorter and fatter
@xxJinraixx As SXM child I'm remembering that during the past most of pilots makes their T-O like that. Without Circular taxi at start of 09 (poorly now 10...) the American Airline pilots were well know to scramble their 757-200 a few only after the middle of the runway. Purely crazy... purely funny ! Now the well times get back, no more P-3C, Il-18D, Yak-42D, Caravelle, 707, DC-8 or 727.
@lufthansa330pilot not really, there are more pilots in emirates and etihad that are american and australian rather than arabic, it's because they're the best airmen in the world!
DC-10, VC-10, VC20, 707's. All planes that sounded like a jet should , unlike their modern counterparts which sound more like washing machines on a spin cycle. Oh well thats progress (I guess)
@jaguarantony yeah, the 777's engine is powerfull because they only have 2 engines and must carry a lot of people and cargo, not like 747s, 747s have a huge body but they have 4 engines
Late afternoon into the early evening are great times for viewing heavy trans-continental jets departing due to the nature of long haul flight schedules (morning arrival)
FANTASTIC VID :P haha i love it manchester is my local airport what are the radios called were you can here the atc and captain ? i want one ::P: :L great vid 5*
@jsb4life I agree! I think all 1986+ Dc-10's can be retrofitted with the latest AC's, APU's, MD11 cockpits, HEPA Air filter, Latest IFE's and wing and engine upgrades and hey presto! you have the latest dc-10!
an aircrat has to use full thrust for takeoff otherwise how can it takeoff? the aircraft need 100% thrust power to takeoff. the 777 engines sounds different from other engines the full thrust hears like a 80% thrust not 100%, but it is 100% takeoff thrust.
They don't need 100% thrust. Almost always (unless of course it is a small runway for that type) it will be around 85-90% thrust. If aircraft like the 777,747, and A380 are constantly going on a runway and revving to full power prior to takeoff you would rip runways apart fairly quick.
Very nice!!! Old aircraft but still amazes. I think bangladesh are very rich because it costs alot to maintain these old dc-10's these days. Great spool up sound!! the md-11 spool up sound seems similar come and look for yourself, just search mef2988 and see for yourself.
The Emirates pilot used Full thrust. I am a 777 pilot. Now, No, not with the same engines because it is a 200 series. However I still know what full thrust sounds like in a 777.
you are american airline pilot? I'm studing aviation here in Puerto Rico to be a Pilot. How long time do you finish your pilot career?. It's a fun job or is a little spooky.
Nice this video! but i dont know if im wrong but why the 2 first planes have to use more distance to take off than the last one that take off very fast?
Nice this video! but i dont know if im wrong but why the 2 first planes have to use more distance to take off than the last one that take off very fast?
It's because the first one was a cargo flight so it will be heavy and loaded with fuel to Hong Kong, the second was Emirates which is a popular airline and was also heavy, but the third one was Biman Bangladesh Airlines which isn't too popular so it wasn't heavy and could take off with less speed than the first two. Also, it's about how much thrust you use and flaps settings etc. Hope this helped :)
i have to agree ek583, it does sound like the 773 doesnt use full trust. it may be the light payload but also it does take off from the runway a fair bit down there (although that is usual for the heavys we get a MAN :])
but the 773 does sound awesome when spooling up (but i prefer the sound of a 752 fitted with RR engines on take off :])
Ok correct me if I am wrong, but when the emirates 777 was spooling up, it didn't sound like it had full thrust. Probably had a light payload, for which it took off at reduced thrust?
geez those Bangladesh people really pushed those CF6 engines too max power, it barely pulled out of tango 1 when it went really fast!!

Bangladesh Air will always spool up to 50% upon entering the runway, unless the tower instructs them to "Position and Hold".
Must be in the airlines' procedure manual.
