  • Her playing is so sophisticated and splendorous.......I adore her

  • This is the first time in years that I've utterly enjoyed listening to the G minor Ballad.

    Thank you for posting.

  • @uknico Thank you for your comment. I hope that you have visited some of Agi's Bach recordings posted on my site. You will be stunned.

  • This beautiful playing brought tears to my eyes. So modest and clear, with every note articulated, but what really comes across is the long singing melody line and the deep heart of this masterpiece.

  • @johnharmer1943 Thank you for your beautiful comment. Her great talent was matched by her modesty that makes her playing unique. She left us with a treasure of recordings, mostly Bach, and Chopin. Unknown to most, she was also a marimba virtuoso, playing Bach on that instrument.

  • There may be as much true art in a finely detailed miniature portrait painted on ivory and framed in hand chased gold as there is in a gigantic swirling canvas by Peter Paul Rubens.

In his own way Cellini was as great a master as Michelangelo.

And so it is with Agi Jambor whose clean, delicate, finely-wrought, gracious interpretations of Chopin give as much -- or more -- pleasure than the neurotic fervid thunderings of Russian virtuosi.

Agi provides a lovely alternative to mere spectacle.

  • Your comments are music to the ears of Agi's admirers and very true. I can imagine her accepting them with a smile, and her usual humility. Thank you.

  • thank heavens, Agi Jambor is coming back.

    Thanks Stephen for posting.

  • Wonderful!!
