  • Seitz is a VERY good lawyer

  • A federal court has ruled that Seitz's perspective is correct: that under the "double jeopardy" rule Lt. Watada cannot be tried twice. Judge Settle dismissed 3 of the 5 charges.

  • Ehren Watada = My Hero

  • my last name is seitz too...

  • Eric Seitz is a hero to me and my family, and always will be.

  • MY name is Eric Seitz! This is coincidental

  • Thank you very much, Mr. Eric Seitz!!!

    What a victory!!!

    We love you, Lt. Watada!!!

    Jane Jin

  • thanks to all who stand up for those of us sitting

  • Watada is exemplary in his convictions and moral standards. He should be commended not imprisonned.

    Free America, Impeach Bush !

  • Lt. Watada is what heros are made of. A HUGE THANK YOU. I SALUTE YOU!! THIS IS WHAT A PATRIOT LOOKS LIKE!

  • Lt. Watada shows TRUE courage. It is much harder to stand up for your principles than it is to go along with the crowd, especially given the pressure that this current administration applies upon dissenters. Bravo, Lt. Watada--I hope this is the end of this ridiculous action against you.

  • Bush is a liar.

I firmly believe this aggresion was perpetrated on the poor 3rd world peace loving people of Iraq so a certain few wealthy people would become even more wealthy.

Lt. Watada is a brave man that is for sure as he will be persecuted for the rest of his days as will anyone with the same surname, for standing up for what he believes in and not beoming a leming.

By the way I was raised in a military houshold and I salute him.

  • Just following orders is not a defense, and each person has a duty to their country to be able to recognize right from wrong. It's so great to see someone in the military with such a deep sense of honor as to risk so much, just to not be part of the problem.

Go Lt. Watada! Go rules of engagement! Go humanity!!! I have been dreaming that a true hero would be thoughtful and brave enough to stand up and refuse to obey an order to become a war criminal.

  • We've written dozens of letters on Ehren's behalf to the elite in Washington demanding they stand down. Our front yards, cars & emails all carry the same message. We're sick of this illegal war & the wanton slaughter of Iraqis at the behest of Israel.

As an American, I nominate Ehren Watada for President! Imagine real leadership from a real man with moral fiber. Together we could rid our country of the rats that infect America.

Thank you Lieutenant - you stand for us and we stand with you!

  • He has my vote.

  • Ummm... you know a mistrial can be retried... right? It's only subject to double jeopardy laws if the court erroneously declares a mistrial, or if prosecutorial misconduct goaded the defendant into moving for a mistrial, and the defendant's attorney actually did NOT want the mistrial. Soooo... if it DOES go back to trial, it will be b/c of Seitz...

  • Eric Seitz did an outstanding job! I don't think the government saw him coming. They wove a web in which they themselves got caught. And it was through clever manipulation on the part of Seitz that we got this wonderful outcome. There is hope now.

  • Good for Lt Watada!!! Hopefully, after he is vindicated, more and more military officers and enlisted with have the courage to stand up and do what's right!

  • Thank you for your bravery, Lt. Watada! You make real a saying from the resistance to the war in Viet Nam:

WHAT IF THEY GAVE A WAR AND NOBODY CAME?

  • Americans can be proud of Lt. Watada!
