  • good cover but she'll alway's be a hairy from Bellshill to me.

  • @TheRockingtam she never came from belshill you twat that was sheana easton ,,, lulu came from dennistoun glasgow

  • i might be wrong, but David Bowie plays sax in this song

  • she did a good version of this song - good on her

  • why is she smiling singing this song? out of touch....

  • G8 SONG

  • What a powerful professional voice this artist has....Superb.

  • Lulu....one hot bitch even today. GILF.

  • @TheOmnibot bowie is singing on this version, he actually approached lulu and asked her to do it, not the other way around

  • The more versions you hear, the more you know someone would have to go out of their way to go wrong with this one.

  • Your some kind of cunt aren't you @KingofClothFair

  • It's a good version but she looks like a bowie doppelganger! All she's missing is the shaved eyebrows!

  • I'd rather listen to Lulu than Shitvana

  • @NaturalEmoticon Get off the crack...

  • Lulu's singing and Bowie's original music would have made this a much beter record

  • Your face to face with The Mother who created the World.

  • Today i found out that the song wasn´t of nirvana :l

  • WOW this is good! who knew?

got kind a disco too it

  • God bless class.

  • I Just Love Lulu!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LULU IS THE TYPE OF SCOTTISH LASSIE YOU CAN LET OUT AND SHE WILL NEVER, EVER, LET GLASGOW OR SCOTLAND DOWN. OR BRITAIN. OR EVEN HER GOOD SELF. NOW, COMPARE HER WITH SINEAD "CYANIDE" O'CONNOR AND YOU WILL NO COMPARISON AT ALL, AT ALL, AT ALL. I AM THE SAME AGE AS LULU WHO WILL BE 63 NEXT MONTH OR SO!!!

  • I think this song is so great that Justin Beiber could make it sound good.ok maybe not.this version blows too.

  • I'am sure I read somwhere that the sax player is David Bowie on this version ? any one know or can confirm ?

  • @mosquito1958

"she covered David Bowie's songs "The Man Who Sold the World" and "Watch That Man". Bowie himself produced the recordings, played saxophone and provided back-up vocals. Rumours of a brief affair were confirmed in her 2002 autobiography." from Wikipedia.

  • @xJTxRipperx that is beacause she isn't, Bowie is.

  • super cool!to bowie with love!hehehehe

  • Lulu was never under rated - she was given a few crap songs - but when she got good ones, she showed what she can do...even Sandi Shaw sang some crap like Puppet, but we have Long Live Love and others

  • Lulu is a very under rated people don't give her credit for beening a amazing singer she is fantastic.

  • She is wonderful!!!

  • I've always like this version better than bowie's or Nirvana

  • @sunboy1000

    you joking me rite?

  • prefer this anyday to Nirvana's cover.

  • Great version. Doesn't Lulu look gorgeous. Just look at those eyes.

  • @pienivla Yup.

  • Is this the original?

  • i think her version the best, it tops their greatness Nirvana and the thin white duke (who she shagged whilst making this) - keep on fucking fuckers! x

  • This song is fab and I love both Bowie's and Lulu's versions.

  • The saxophone is good :)

  • @oogie11

    i'm pretty sure it's bowie

  • @SeptimusKincaid I know this is a Bowie song. I was just commenting on how good the saxophone was :)

  • @oogie11

ah sorry, i wasn't very clear. what i meant was that, as far as i know, the saxophonist on this recording is bowie

    it's great, isn't it? :)

  • @SeptimusKincaid Oh wow, really?? I never knew, oooh, sorry for the misunderstanding. That's really good that Bowie is the saxophonist

  • Bowie wrote this sond in the late 60's about his brothers stays in all of the mental houses he had to visit him in.

  • Great version and boy she looks GOOD !

  • Almost an Aladdin Sane haircut !

  • not many people know but Bowie actually rote this originally for her

  • @hughffy88

Seriously?! I always thought it was his song.

  • @WoodRatGirl it is but he wrote it for her but enjoyed it so much he sang it himself and even brought out an album with the same name which came out in 70 in usa, 71 in uk. you might of herd of an singer named lulu who was big in the uk and ( it was said but not confirmed ) was ment to release the song a year before bowie but didn't. but bowie did produce the song, sing back up and play saxophone in her version which if you listen you might make out his voice. also the had a little fling togethe

  • @hughffy88 WOW THNX

    UK/USABOY

  • A great enigmatic pop version of this song, prefer it much more to Nirvanas folky dour version

  • Come on then. Who knew that David Bowie played as part of the backing group for Lulu performing this song. I actually like this version better than Bowie's

  • Wt f Hotratz1962...What does it fukin matter to u if he says it....Yeah its a great song though but i think people should mind their own business...

  • Wtf Chakdhumplat... what does it fukin matter to u if he says it.... Yeah its a controversial opinion but i think people should mind their own business

  • Wonderful classic, I've always wondered though, who was this "man who sold the world" she was singing about??

  • this is trippy.

  • what was she on?

  • @tig1960 ---->cocaine, just like everybody else in the music industry by the mid-'70s

  • no please....my god!!!!?????

  • daves no 1 version

  • Woooah, never knew about this version. Soooo fantastic...

  • Does it fucking matter who did the best version, who cares it's a great song

  • @Hotratz1962 yes it does... and this version is bad...

  • this was made in 74 and the original by bowie in 70 but in 93 the best version of this song came :D

  • this before bowie version??? i think nirvana version was the best

  • bad, bad , bad and ...band just shit music!

  • I love LULU!!!!!!!

  • Not Bowie Not LuLu YES KURT

  • Nice. I love it. Maybe you should change the title become ' The Woman Who Sold the World".

  • LULU♥LULU♥LULU♥

  • buenasa

  • Bowie did play saxophone on the track, as well as producing it.

  • @MrPapaBill Wrong! the man who actually produced and is credited on the 45 is none other than Wes Farrell, the producer most famous for the David Cassidy and Partridge Family records. Its was released on his Chelsea Record Label!

  • No, Wes Farrell produced the album on which it appeared (Heaven and Earth and the Stars). He did not produce this nor the b-side, Watch That Man. Bowie did.

  • Does anyone know if that is Bowie playing sax? It sure sounds like his style. Cool cover of a great song!

  • @bobafettucini yes it's bowie playing guitar sax and backing vocals.

  • one of the few genuinely great glam rock tracks by a female

  • Really love this song. The Sax really sells it and Lulu's wonderful voice. I love all versions of the song. Kind of view them as a trilogy of sorts. Each with it's own unique tone.

  • My old Auntie Madge use to perform a karaoke version of this song. She was in her late 80s but quite a beatnik.

She died last year when she fell off the back of a motorcylist.

  • A motorcyclist?! She sounds like quite a beatnik if she's riding motorcyclists bless her! She sounds cool :)

  • @KingofClothFair who gives a fuck about your auntie vadge

  • @gazzah54 dude have you ever heard of discretion?

  • Thass David singin with her on this!!!!

  • Interesting cover, but the video itself is kind of boring.

  • @nosenipples the song is more important than the video.

  • huge hit in europe and num 3 in britain in1974 gud version buy lulu

  • well, nirvana's unplugged doesn't sucks... It caught me by surprise actually

  • Great version of a great song!

  • love this song, thank you for posting !!!

  • agreed,,, rock on.

try "the sensation 70s box set (lps),, for taste o more of the same era..

  • Without a shadow of a doubt, the best version of this song ever. Better even Than Bowie himself. why? the Guitar+sax work.
