Wow, I remember seeing this AMV back 10 years ago or so! I first saw Kevin Caldwell's AMV for Evangelion at Anime Expo in 1999 and was blown away. His really stood out in a time where people were mostly using two VCRs to make AMVs. I remember he gave out his email address in his award acceptance speech, so I mailed him and he sent me a tape of all of his AMVs to date, which was about 8 or 10 - this Key the Metal was on there. Thanks for posting this - brings back great memories!
I remember the good old days before internet was mainstream. I picked this series up fansubbed and I still own the Laserdisc copy of the series I bought back in 1995. I picked up laserdiscs to give to fansubbers at cons so that they could sub them, then trade for other LDs to aquire different subs and build a library of anime. Of course all of the fansubs were on VHS or Beta max.
Awesome video...the timing is fantastic, and I love the sort of 'connections' within it; like people turning, the eyes moving, the doors opening at the end, and etc. The song is great too, it's so dark and dramatic.
WHOA, that was incredible! Your sense of selection and timing is absolutely amazing. I haven't seen this anime in years, but it's still definitely one of my faves.
Looks like an interesting show!!

^^ This is one of the classic AMV's, frome when it was a major pain in the ass to make'em on the average home computer.

Actually, if I recall correctly, this AMV was edited with a VCR and with a LaserDisc player. Or was it after Kevin started using Premiere?

No idea, I'm relying on my rather weak memory here XD
