  • living with less than $6000 a year is difficult with 2 children. I have the same problem is washington state. I go to an orchard and i have to pay money for equipment ill never use again, and other migrants dont pay a dime... infact they get a free ride there.

  • @Nomoremoney12 Things are very screwed up in this country.

  • im thinknig about robing banks lol

  • @iminsc14 Hmmmm...that MIGHT not be a good idea. ;) lol

  • Your friend must live in California. About 1/3 of the jobs here require you to speak Spanish, especially on SoCal.

  • @laurenoliver23 No it was in DC. That's ridiculous about jobs there. I feel everyone is welcome to come here but they need to learn English. Thanks for commenting.

  • This is true. I also have been seeing a lot of job postings that require Spanish language. Looks like a lot of latinos don't want to learn English. Basically those jobs that require Spanish will go to people that speak Spanish, which in U.S. is mostly Mexicans.

  • smh .. I really do not understand this fucking economy ! unbelievable

  • I need a fkn job....

  • @AngelzCP3 Sad how many people that want to work can't find any.

  • My good sir u deserve a standing ovation u took the words right out of my mouth i have been unemployed for 6mos i have came across at least 50 jobs i qualified for and was turned down only because i quote "I DID NOT SPEAK SPANISH" but yet there spainish ppl on welfare when all the jobs are going to them smfh

  • @krvix305 That's completely unacceptable. This country is jacked up.

  • then learn fukin spanish you retard, we learned english, did your ancestors learn cherokee, apache or seminole when they first came to these lands?

  • @eight18 ok well this is now our ancestors are not being disgusted . the main language in America is ENGLISH. English speakers cant get a job in their own country because they dont speak a foreign language is bullshit.. and we didnt ask Mexico or any other country to learn English. and if i were to go to Mexico i wouldnt assume that everyone should speak English ... you go to Mexico or another country you learn that language

  • Damn. I don't even know English completely yet.

  • I've also downloaded a few Spanish teaching programs on my Ipad to learn Spanish as it doesn't seem like I have any other choice.

  • @Snafu2346 You gotta do what you got to do unfortunately.I hope you are able to find a job soon.

  • @Snafu2346 This is occurring because of NAFTA and the UN....they want to bring the USA down to a third world level and the way to do it is ship jobs overseas, and allow mexico to take over here...they are stealing the wealth of this country and handing it to the bankers......Obama is not the first president to give corporations incentives to move their manufacturing out of the country.....it's only going to get worse.....learning spanish will not help you get a job.....it's by design

  • I was turned down a job at a bank because I didn't speak Spanish. They said they went with somebody with more diverse lingual skills. I actually am bi lingual, just not in Spanish. But this is Texas, and that just isn't good enough. I should have stayed in Michigan.

  • I thought Spanish was the second official language of the U.S? Even if it is though, that shouldn't mean you're required to be fluent in both just to get a job! come on.

Here, french is the second official language, but you'd never get turned down for a job (unless its a bilingual position like in a government office) because you don't speak french! That's craziness. Not cool.

  • @jessomglol

If they want their employees to speak spanish, they should offer basic spanish training of some kind, in my opinion. Are they assuming someone who grew up in the states with (i'm assuming) occasional to frequent exposure to spanish couldn't simply pick it up in a few days? give the guy a chance.

  • @jessomglol The U.S. doesn't have any official languages.

  • @themusicmatterz I'm sure you're writing this out of frustration but it made me laugh. If only we were capable of that level of honesty in our country we wouldn't have the majority of the problems we do. Thanks for commenting.

  • Dude I aint even gonna lie most of the when I go job hunting online some position I would qualify then as I read more of the qualification it says MUST or PERFER spanish speaker/bilingual. What a bunch of bullshit and these jobs I apply mostly are warehousejobs, really I need to speak spanish to work in a warehouse!?

  • @ernesdee2o916 And then they turn around and say Americans don't want these jobs.

  • I so fucking agree.... I'm pissed.

  • @27ljta not one call? You're suppose to call them back for an interview. They never call an applcant

  • @27ljta Things have definitely changed dramatically. I go into some fast food places in DC and am lucky if I hear english being spoken at all.

  • u r sooooo right

  • @drewpdrew2004 Thanks.

  • @gfreakj ..ur welcome friend

  • @inauspiciousominous Happy 4th to you too.

  • I think u are the friend u are talking about-minus the spanish shit

  • @danieldaring I've been at the same job for 7 years. I don't make stuff up.

  • The same crap happened to me. Apparently I didn't speak "enough" Spanish. And this was at a Gold's Gym in Southern California. I agree it's "Bull****"!

  • @MannyZtotheG It's ridiculous. And part of the problem, as the last commenter pointed out, is that we don't have an official language here in the US. We should.

  • Employers will hire people who are best suited for the job. Skill with Spanish is relevant and makes for a better employee in any job where people are likely to come into contact with other people who only speak Spanish. Why would they hire your friend if another applicant had the same qualifications, but also spoke Spanish? Also, the USA doesn't have an official language.

  • Brazilians speak Portuguese.

  • @MikoBambino I realized that after the video was posted. My mistake.

  • @gfreakj Yea np... But man to be honest I don't think it matters. I'm a native Spanish speaker and Speak English fluently (born citizens) and I've been searching for a year without any prevail. I feel like breaking down to be honest, I don't know what else to do.

  • @MikoBambino I agree it seems to be a problem no matter how many languages people speak. And the government keeps telling how much BETTER everything is getting. Very uncertain future for many people in this country and for our country in general. I am lucky , in a way, to live in DC. Still more jobs here then in most of the country. But my business is way off from where it was a few years ago. Depression seems to be getting to a lot of people. I pray you find something soon.

  • @gfreakj Thx. I appreciate that.

  • @MikoBambino You're welcome.

  • teach english online from your home. goodooga.com

  • lol you screwed up at the end. Of course he can't get a job if he doesn't speak english.

  • @wendy2212 Ooops. Thanks.

  • pues porque que el vato empiese a hablar espanol...........duh!!!

  • Yep, we're being overrun by foreigners and our society is just accepting it. I mean I understand why they're fleeing their shitty countries and coming here, and I can't say I wouldn't do the same in their shoes. It's just bringing our country down and it sucks because there isn't any obvious solution.

  • @lasoogneypubes Seems like bringing us down is the goal.

  • @gfreakj Think about it like this. If the United States went TOTALLY down the toilet, would you border hop to Canada if they were doing great? Or would you stay here and stick it out because you don't want to bring the Canadians down? You might say that you would, but most people wouldn't. If you had a chance to better your life with an easy solution most people would take it. I do think that you should have to speak fluent english to get ANY jobs here though.

  • @lasoogneypubes I agree with your last statement and , realistically, I would probably do what you describe here though I like to believe I wouldn't as far as getting out. .

  • @gfreakj This type of thing just won't be solved until (I think) it's harder for foreigners to get jobs here or the economy picks up and there are jobs for almost everyone or both.

  • @lasoogneypubes I say both.

  • chill brah.

  • I just turned 20 today and I moved to California for independence and I never had a day job before and can't seem to land a entry level job for that same reason!

I mean I have my High School Diploma,I'm willing to learn and to work hard. Why must I learn another language to get a job? I understand respecting culture but isn't disrespectful to come into a country not knowing their native language of the U.S. expecting to get a job? SMH....

  • @Moog168 SMH too. It isn't right.

  • @Moog168 You moved to another state with only a high school in a depressed economy and expect to get work? Bad move. Get a degree or skill at the least in demanded fields.

  • @giftedindividuals First of all it wasn't a bad move it's been proven having a College/University degree here DOES NOT guarantee a job. At some places I applied to there were even college students with BA's,etc. were out there looking for work longer than I have.

It's all in who you know over what you know from what I see. FYI I moved back to my town and I have a job (with a high school diploma FYI) as a working musician and working at a professional drumshop full time and the pay is great.

  • Is there anyone one this board who is non-Hispanic? Is it so very hard to understand that acceptance of the practice of requiring Spanish for employment can EASILY be perverted to outright racist hiring practices? Hasnt anyone of you learned from history? Ever heard of the saying "Give them an inch, and they take a mile?" This view that "Oh its a global market, learning Spanish is "good for you" are statements that you and your grandchildren will regret.

  • @Upjohn252 Agreed. Well said.

  • that is a BITCH. especially in texas. it is some STRAIGHT BULLSHIT. im all for getting rid of illegals. I actually know a family that has great jobs at a local bank that are illegal

  • @0119alt Indeed it is bullshit. American jobs for AMERICANS! Doesn't seem like too much to ask.

  • Oh by the way!! They don't speak Spanish in Brazil..!

  • @someancreek1 My mistake.

  • Herd that brotha !!!!!! same bs happend to me just the other day =/

    National city /CA

  • @tykx104 Total bullshit. Good luck in your continued job search.

  • Herd that brotha !!!!!! same bs happend to me just the other day =/

    National city /CA

  • I am from a German background and in Germany they try very hard not to make the mistake they are making in the US. In Germany ALL foreigners must learn the language and integrate. They dont even allow people from similar nationalities to live close to each other, coz if they do sooner or later they will create a ghetto with its own rules and norms. This is unacceptable.

  • Comment removed

  • yah it happens, and its frustrating but then there are sometimes situations where they will tell u that the reason they dont wanna to hire u is coz u dont speak a language but the reason lies elsewhere, but they cant tell u coz you might sue them hehehe

But really I think all foreigners should be forced to learn the national language or get out, coz without a language they just wont be able to integrate and will live in closed communities and create sub-societies within the country.....

  • @TheFallen1978 Agreed. That is exactly what is happening and has been since I was a child. Divided we fall. Thanks for commenting.

  • it's america, speak english or go back to your country!!!!!!

  • @lrrlrr RIGHT ON!

  • You are an idiot!

  • THANK YOU! we fukin live in america and all these fucked up mexicans come to our fuckin country and get over. Fuckers have their own businesses and work shops while AMERICANS are struggling to get work... I MEAN SERIOUSLY!!! the fucking mexicans even have their own tv stations... AINT THAT A BITCH!!!??!?!?!

  • @lockedupletmeout You're welcome. Things seem to be totally ass backwards in the world, and our country, now a days.

  • @lockedupletmeout

how about you shut the fuck up you worthless piece of shit..

go fuck yourself and stop being a racist redneck bitch...

  • OMG That has happened to me! I applied at a salon next to my house and the FIRST thing they asked me was if I spoke spanish...I don't even feel like I live in a predominantly mexican area! I was like no why would I?

  • @KallioppexX We have to learn another language because our government won't force immigrants to learn english. What a crock of shit. Thanks for commenting.

  • WELCOME TO AMERICA!

  • @cia5000 if you dont learn a spanish its becuz your lazy?... what planet do you live on....

  • YOU'RE ALL IDIOTS. THIS VIDEO IS A WASTE OF TIME. YOU SHOULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE MONEY ON YOUR OWN, INSTEAD OF DEPENDING ON JOBS. WHAT HAS A JOB EVER DONE FOR ANY OF YOU? IT'S ALLOWED YOU TO SURVIVE, THAT'S ABOUT IT. TAKE THOSE FUCKIN EARRINGS OUT OF YOUR EARS AND MAYBE YOU'LL FIND A "MAGICAL JOB" THAT WILL SOLVE ALL OF YOUR PROBLEMS.

  • Last line: "This man wants to get a job in his own country and wont get hired cause he doesn't speak English? BULLSHIIIT!" By "this man" I assume you mean your friend. Haha, failed. But good point.

  • I agree & this types of shit is happening daily.

  • @XADIENX It is ridiculous. Thanks for commenting.

  • I am bi-lingual English and Spanish and very computer literate with certifications and still have problems finding jobs.

  • @bennmug It is even affecting people here in DC hwere we have always been recession proof because of all the government jobs. Scary times. Thanks for commenting.

  • What the fuck is their problem? Are you serious?

I wish those piece of shit mexican jumpers would just get the hell out of USA.

I'm so sick of this shit! My friends use to work in Subways and then those scumbags decided to hire a bunch of fucking mexican boarder jumpers. It makes us look jobless and useless. Most of the Job application forms use to be simple and easy back in the days before those nonamerican citizen jumping fuckers excisted in USA. I wish they all leave now instead of later.

  • i have a spanish last name but im not mexican im spanish as from spain and i have all these companies that call me in for an interview and when i get their they look at me weird as if they were expecting to see a mexican but they see a white man and i never hear from them again im fucking pissed the united states of america is not what it used to be it is a dirty world and the white man has hit the shit fan cant get unemployment but all the mexican and niggers can fuuuuuuuuck! i hate democrates

  • @basshunter477 Agree. The same thing has happen to me and I am sick of all of it.

  • @basshunter477

Why are you calling black people niggers, and bringing them into this conversation to begin with? Theyr ancestors were forced to build this country for free, those peoplee have FAR morre claim to fair employment than you do..youre a foreigner by your own admission.

  • @Upjohn252 shut up you liberal democrate

  • @basshunter477

Its Democrat, you cant even speak the F**king language, and youre from SPAIN, WHY the hell do you think you have an opinion on anything that happens in this country, tell you what...shut your cunthole, fly your sorry ass back to SPAIN and go find a bull to fight, trust me ill put good money on the bull, GET the FUCK outta my country shit stain!

  • mandatory bi-lingual jobs = discrimination

  • @dopebozoish Aside from in very specific jobs I agree.

  • With the shitty economy employers can afford to be RIDICULOUSLY fussy. Employers have the upper hand and can get people with masters degrees and all kinds of skills for CHEAP. I can't wait till the economy gets better and those over qualified twits suddenly leave those jobs for better ones. I guess those same FUSSY employers will be fucked because they will have many employees quitting at once. If we vote Liberal out this election that might happen, think about it.

  • @mcgregwood7 I agree. Vote the bums out and let's try again to fix our country. Thanks for commenting.

  • WTF did you young people think would happen to the job market when you voted for Obama? Did you actually think the economy was gonna improve? Jeez

  • @label1877 . Not sure if this is directed at me or is a general comment. I didn't vote for him

  • Comment removed

  • I can't find a job either. I have been looking for months and I am running out of money. If I don't get something soon I will start using my FIVE-FINGER-DISCOUNT.

  • @mcgregwood7 LOL

  • @mcgregwood7 Was lol ing at 5 finger discount not you not being able to find a job. Just want to be clear.

  • Am I the only one who happens to think that this man's friend is just a phantom character to cover up the fact that he was the one who didn't get the job? Also, at the end, he said "english" rather than "spanish".

  • @dmed312 I've had the same job for the last 7 years . I am not a story teller. Not fiction at least.

  • did you guys even stop to think what kind of job this mans' friend was applying to? Couldda been a translator. Probably failed to pass the background check.

  • @psycl0nes No he did not fail to pass the background check or I would have said that. And if he was applying to be a translator I wouldn't have made the video...smart ass.

  • We people in the netherlands got this shit too... we cant get a job because of no multi language.. So same here BUUULLL SHIIIIIT

  • @ThePrototypeEX BULLshit all across the world. Wish that somehow made me feel better. LOL Thanks for commenting.

  • I fucking agree with you a 100%. That really grinds my gears.

  • @cleverasever69 Thanks for commenting.

  • @cleverasever69 haha totally just heard family guy when i read that

  • even if he knew Spanish, he probably wouldn't get the job. Most jobs are given to people who have relatives/friends working at the job. That's the truth. You also have to realize that if the interviewer doesn't like you (because you have piercings, tattoos, aren't Caucasian, etc), you're not gonna get the job no matter how qualified you are and no matter if you speak 50 languages including Wookie.

  • @alangentrinapestegui Thanks for sharing your perspective respectfully. Nice change from most of the comments.

  • ill sing along with you , BUUULL SHIT

  • @dyingdianthus LOL.

  • OMG YES!! What the heck!?

  • @1mayngo It's ridiculous. Thanks for commenting.

  • shut the fuck up he get the job cuz he aint pass the drug test

  • So dam true.....I live in florida boy oh boy not bilingual=no job.....better go to mickey d's or move to a state with low hispanic population

  • @loriann923 There is an area in DC where a lot of the signs are in spanish only. I have no problem with people speaking any language they want but we need to make english the official language of our country. If people want to live here they should be required to be able to communicate. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Thanks for commenting.

  • Brazilians speak Portuguese.

  • @aerifterrorblader Thanks for the info.

  • An employer wouldnt waste his/her time interviewing a candidate that doesnt fit the bill because of the language skill needed. The fact is that that could easily be seen on the resume. In addition, the U.S. doesnt have an official language at the federal level. Dont be too surprise for an extra amount of jobs requiring Spanish. After all, it is the 2nd most popular language after English in this country. But the truth is that Spanish had nothing to do with your friend not getting his job.

  • @TwistedMind6969 is right. I don't think your friend lost this job because of Spanish. The fact is that there are plenty of jobs out there where a particular language is needed. Not necessarily Spanish. You could check job sourcing sites and find jobs specifically asking for bilingual candidates requiring other languages other than Spanish. Why you may ask? Because we are in a global economy and companies are in high demand for people who can engage in other languages. (Cont)

  • same shit happened to me.. i went to best buy i was pretty sure i got the job all happy they called me in twice for extra interviews and they never called me back after words and i tried contacting the GM but there was always an excuse... i keep trying but i feel like theres no hope anymore.. what the hell are we suppose to do now? students are going for their bachelors and trying to get jobs in the real world and arent theyre returning back to school to get their masters or working at fast food

  • @shant07 And the admin keeps trying to convince us that because we are losing fewer jobs things are getting better.

  • I'm from Brazil and speak multiple languages including Spanish. I understand that in the U.S English is the main language but there is also a huge Hispanic population and Spanish might be required for certain jobs. Americans in general should stop being so self-centered and learn other languages. You're friend didn't get the Job for some other reason(s) not because he didn't speak Spanish. An employer could easily notice if someone speaks the language they want.

  • @TwistedMind6969 This is the Unoited States of America. We speak English here. People that want to come here need to learn English. There is nothing self centered about that. To have a country that is unified you can't have a large chunk not being able to communicate. We are not saying the world needs to speak english.Continued.

  • @TwistedMind6969 But people want to live here need to speak english or dont come here. When Italians were immigrating here in large numbers no one suggested anyone learn Italian. And rightly so. This is an english speaking country. Thanks for your opinion.

  • Oh man and adults have it hard, just imagine us teens. I'm 18 and I just got a car and now I need to find a job to help pay for insurance. This economy sucks.

  • @nightpwner It is rough here in DC and we have the governemnt here. I can't imagine in the rest of the country. Good luck.

  • good video. and it's 100% true. i've been beat out of jobs here lately for the same reason as your friend.

  • @TGeiger85 It's not right. Good luck in the future with your hunt.

  • Hahaha it's about time. It's your turn white people. Guess you white people are going to have to start mowing lawns for mexicans.

    Vice versa bitches, you're it!

  • @ZildjianSeRG Thats called fantasy land...enjoy it.

  • @gfreakj Fantasy land? Ha Ha how can it be? You must be blind. Open your eyes and pay attention to the world. Get out of your hole and get some fresh air. This guy in the video just proved that Mexicans are taking over majority of the jobs.

  • i ve lost my home I just had to give my truck back to gmac cause i can't make the payments and my kids mom is taking me to court for more child support cause she lost her job I m a carpenter things are so bad that a person with some of the oldest skills on earth can't find a job yet everywhere i look i see truck loads of mexicans that will do my job for 1/4 of what i have to do it for ....I WONDER WHAT THE PROB IS????

  • It's jacked up out there. And if you and I say the truth as we see it we are somehow racists. Everything seems to be backwards.

  • I speak both and cant find a job TT

  • And the government keeps saying things are getting better. Good luck on your hunt.

  • I'm bilingual (english/spanish) with Information Technology degree and experience and still can't find a job. I just went to a job fair with over 300 people waiting to get interviewed. Did I get a job? Nope....... Regardless it's a tough economy.

  • Agreed. Good luck on your hunt.

  • There are all kinds of jerks in Montréal who refuse to learn French and still f ind jobs.

  • It's a convenient excuse I suppose.

  • LOLl since when do American speak "english"? It makes us laugh in the UK that American dare call the horrible dialect they speak "English", you people can't even spell properly, it's "colour" not "color" you damn idiots! Americans need to learn English first before they even try to learn Spanish or any other language!

  • I should have said Anglish. Or as I've heard some hillbillies say "speak American damn it!" . Thanks for commenting.

  • @thekingofmoney2000 You want to know the truth? I can't understand half the shit that comes out of your British mouth. It's like you people have created your own language. Your accent sucks

    Jollygood!

  • He-heh - People in Brazil don't speak Spanish.

  • I never claimed to be intelligent, just angry. lol. Thanks for the correction.

  • im bi-lingual (english/spanish) and i still cant get a job lol

  • Damn. Thats saying something. Times are tough. Good luck with your hunt. Thanks for commenting.

  • That is absolutely crazy, but I believe it. I see job postings all the time that "prefer" people speak certain languages. Weird because the ones I've seen I can't figure out why they would need to know anything other than English. What is this country coming to? I was never good at other languages! I took French for one year and Spanish for five years. Don't remember a damn thing!

  • One other thing I feel i must say is that I am in no way saying Mexicans or South Americans are taking American jobs. I feel like that may not have been clear in the video. I am only talking about requiring people to speak Spanish.

  • American students must learn Spanish but new immigrants to this country dont have to learn English? Thats a video. Thanks for the comment. The video will be up soon..

  • I said at the end my friend didnt get hired because he didnt speak English. Obviously I menat he dosen't speak Spanish.

  • Beautifully put. How about the ones that pretend NOT to understand or speak English, for their conveinence, but it's all an act? My neighbors, put a patio in their backyard without a permet. It caused flooding into my property. When confronted, couldn't speak nor understand but when my sister ran into them at a cabling casino, they were all speaking fluet english with far less acents. Disgusting!

  • I know the majority of Hispanic people would never do something like this. I know you dont mean it that way but I like to make sure things are clear on here. That being said. I used to work with this woman who said she couldn't speak or understand English until her paycheck was short. Then the English flowed. Made me mad that all the time I thought she couldn't and she said she couldn't speak English. Not a good feeling. I felt she was no longer trust worthy after that.

  • Correct, never is it all people of a group to blame for the few., but to ignore the fact that there are those that know how to come here and work our system, is foolish. Your video gives a little light to the kinds of problems this creates.

  • I hope to shed more light on the subject as I become more brave and confident in ,my views.

  • @ValleyMermaid Wow! That's one thing I would never do. I rarely speak Spanish, but if some racist person is snickering behind my back, I let 'em have it and I enjoy pissing them off. However, I NEVER pretend to NOT speak English and talk in a fake accent for my convenience coz that's just plain EVIL.... or NOT speak Spanish when someone needs help, unless the Spanish speaker assumes that I am from a Latin country. I let 'em have it, too.

  • @JeByReCs :) You sound like my kind of neighbor!!! :))

  • One more thing i wanted to to add was I live down in Florida and this type of shit is everywhere. I have noticed that usually people who know Spanish stick together in a certain part of town and stay over there almost like they are alienating themselves. this is mainly due to the fact that they don't know English and that they don't want to take the time to learn so they have there own little part of town to themselves and yes i know i had some spelling errors in my last post.

  • Yeah it's bullshit, a lot of people come here from other country's to look for opportunities and that's fine and dandy but it pisses me off when i go to someplace like subway and they lady behind the counter gets pissed at me because i cant understand her when she speaks Spanish and only Spanish. i can understand if there is a lot of tourists that come through and you it's nice to have someone that knows a certain language but seriously, learn some fucking English.

  • I agree. It seems like they feel we are supposed to bend to their culture instead of the oyther way around. I know America has taken a little bit from all the different cultures here but this is different. This is sticking with your own so you dont have to learn our culture and customs. I understand people wanted "foreigners" in ghettos in the past but this is today. If you want to be accepted here immigrants need to become part of the greater community by speaking the language.

  • Pathetic. If we moved to South America we'd be expected to learn Spanish, they aren't going to tell everyone they need to speak English for us in order to get a job.

Sadder part is if we don't learn Spanish for them or have a store with someone who can speak Spanish, it's racist or some other BS.

I don't want to learn Spanish for someone who doesn't consider themselves American. I wouldn't mind helping a recent immigrant who is learning English because all they know is Spanish.

  • I have tried to help people learn English. I help the people I work with. I have no problem with people that want to learn no matter how long it takes. I would never move to another country and expect them to know English. I realize they probably would but thats not my point.

Mu point is they wanted o come here. No one brought them. So either become part of the greater community or...

  • Yeah, Try telling that to some Bosses around my Area....Complete Assholes.
