Even after the renevation Ann Arbor still wont be in the top 3 for loudest stadiums by the time the sound gets there it will be quiet. Your fans are just way to far from the field, you will be louder no question but it wont be significant. Iowa is loud cuz we are soo close we touch the players on the bench and crazy fans. Wisconsin and OSU are loud because they have excellent stadium designs with crazy fans.
On the Mich and OSU comparisons- Mich and OSU have great MARCHING bands, Iowa doesn't. Iowa's band is mediocre at best. Our entrance is a different style, but there is NOTHING better than a big game in Kinnick. I've been to games in ann Arbor and Columbus. Ann Arbor is quite dull, OSU is a rocking environment.
Ann Arbor wont be dull after they put two eight story building at the end of each endzone. and add long press and luxury boxes on each side. this structure will deflect the sound back on to the field and make it loud!
Ya. the only reason it is quiet now is because all the sound escapes because of the bowl shape. So in 2009, look out, the Big House will be one of the loudest stadiums in the country!

I was there. I have been to games at Kinnick before... OSU and other teams. Stadium was electric, no doubt. I would have to say Ohio Stadium for some of the big BIG games is a little more than that, but OSU has more seats too. Ohio Stadium is somewhat passive for "smaller" games.

Even after the renevation Ann Arbor still wont be in the top 3 for loudest stadiums by the time the sound gets there it will be quiet. Your fans are just way to far from the field, you will be louder no question but it wont be significant. Iowa is loud cuz we are soo close we touch the players on the bench and crazy fans. Wisconsin and OSU are loud because they have excellent stadium designs with crazy fans.

On the Mich and OSU comparisons- Mich and OSU have great MARCHING bands, Iowa doesn't. Iowa's band is mediocre at best. Our entrance is a different style, but there is NOTHING better than a big game in Kinnick. I've been to games in ann Arbor and Columbus. Ann Arbor is quite dull, OSU is a rocking environment.

Ann Arbor wont be dull after they put two eight story building at the end of each endzone. and add long press and luxury boxes on each side. this structure will deflect the sound back on to the field and make it loud!

Ya. the only reason it is quiet now is because all the sound escapes because of the bowl shape. So in 2009, look out, the Big House will be one of the loudest stadiums in the country!

I was there. I have been to games at Kinnick before... OSU and other teams. Stadium was electric, no doubt. I would have to say Ohio Stadium for some of the big BIG games is a little more than that, but OSU has more seats too. Ohio Stadium is somewhat passive for "smaller" games.

I have season tickets for Iowa and that was the loudest I have ever heard Kinnink but OSU made sure it wasnt loud for very long, you guys played great but it was closer then the score looked. If any Buck fans were at the game I would really like to know how loud Kinnink was in the begenning compared to the Shoe.

I was at the game and I have to agree, OSU was able to totally remove us from the game. I mean, people were leaving the stadium for the most of the fourth quarter. Oh, and our team did look unfocused and lost out there. There, I said it. I mean, you can't dwell on a loss to the #1 ranked team...
