Like someone that says they believe in One God but have a Buddha statue that they rub the stomach of when they want good things to happen to them or when they are in stress and think rubbing the Buddha statue's stomach will remove the hardship. Maybe that is just one definition of a hypocrite?

Wait . . what? That's not what a hypocrite is. Hipocracy is the state of pretending to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that one does not actually have. If that person goes around boasting about how trustworthy he is, and then he does those things, that's a hypocrite.

I think everyone needs to remember insha Allaah that just because a person tells a lie, it doesn't make him a hypocrite. I think the labels just fly too easily. The person should be caught in a lot of lies and then you can say the person has a characteristic of a hypocrite.
