  • Aita tu e ! Merci gary

  • gary lam is the best wing chun man alive, period.

  • great ving tsun of the WSL lineage! greetings of the wsl- philipp bayer lineage!

  • i really like gary lam, always calm and in control. wsl wing chun seems very street

  • world leading expert ^^

  • I'm a weak asian dude who did some steel fabrication; a two ton beam will easily move with a moderate push when suspended in the air from a hoist. Likewise getting someone off balance via bones and ligamentous structures, and pushing them with a structure and technique of wing chun, will make a gentle push look very, very violent.

  • hes wing chun uses strength. thats why all his students are big guys. good wing chun uses the power of the oponent. Imagine you are small and you want to train in hes school. just ridiulous.

  • @fatalxxxmasaccident yeah, ppl say wing chun is not an agressive style and doesnt rely on much force, do you know skilled wing chun guys do lots of push ups and forearm strength training (that's how you r able to use the pole)? i bet u r the the kind of person that puts shame on wing chun, cuz the only reason for you to choose wing chun is because u r weak, weak for BJJ and MT, and u think wing chun is easy, and u think of it as a short cut to achieve greatness in martial art.

  • Is his push really as strong as we can watch here?! :O

  • and the best thing is. It is not this gay WT it is a real VT ! yeah

  • haha that guy is getting pissed

  • wow, i just had a powerful idea watching this demo

  • Perfect!

  • haha Greece is everywhere!!!! evagkelos ;)

  • He is very good..damn..

  • Finish him. I like that.

  • Incredible!U kno. 2:36 Luv the low bong!

  • i would like to see fight boxing or muay thai to see if it works

  • @tidowt Well Sifu Gary Lam, trained and competed in Muay Thai in his younger years, so I think he would know if it works.

  • that old guy is good.

  • I would like to see a teacher to demonstrate with a non-wing chun fighter or student so that he can show a more realistic blocking or striking when facing non-wing chun attack (eg punches and kicks from different angles instead of wing chun straight punches)

  • @therrakim I've done this with the wing chun master I know, it basically involves closing the distance so hooks etc miss BEHIND you

  • @therrakim When most wing chun guys practice they practice blockings hooks uppercuts and everything, we practice point blank range..that way if we can react that close then someone charging us trying to knock us out is much easier to see coming

  • @AsG1989 i cant believe that was even voted top comment

  • gary lam master 睇你打得相當瀟洒夠快'唔需要用太多力用短橋打得好好!!幾時會返香港呀指教下我啲後輩!thx 可以的話e mail 聯絡 my adds honkeik@yahoo.com.hk ken kwan

  • I am a current student of Sifu Lam. Defintiley an amazing master. He's opening up a Wing Chun gym soon in Alhambra. Thumbs up to all classmates learning under Sifu Lam!

  • @JackYEEZY I'll probably see you there this summer :)

  • Love it when he says "Finish Him"!

  • does he still teach?

  • @dmd54 Yeah he still teaches, in los angeles. Google him you will find his website, there are also a couple of schools dotted round the world where his system is taught. Im at the UK school :)

  • Gary Lam is Awesome. Highly skilled, authentic wing chun.

The one problem I have is that Grandmaster Lam is calling himself the "Worlds leading Wing Chun expert". That is plain false.

Garly Lam was not even one of Wong Shun Leungs 4 senior disciples (Wan Kam Leung,Ng Chun,Yuen Kim Yeung,Chui Hok Yin), so how could he be the top guy in the world? As well, there are direct students of Yip Man like Victor Kan still teaching, who is Gary Lam's Kung Fu Uncle.

    Still, Lam' Skill is phenomenal.

  • @TheInfiniteMind Well I think his student Evangelos who posted this video calls him that. But I don't think that's Gary's words.

  • Is this something like Capoeira? Sort of fight art, not really a fight sport? Could'nt find any videos of actual fight. Only demos with students.

  • @qlimaxtube - it's a called a martial art, not a sport. so that is why won't find people smashing each others faces in on TV for money.

  • @qlimaxtube as far as i know, Wing Chun isn't a officially a competing sport, at least not where they fight for real..

  • @phillythadon Either that or someone could restart the concept of beimo.

  • Wspaniały mistrz, wspaniały człowiek,

  • Fast man, eventhough he likes the good life. ;-)

  • I used to watch video of Young Gary, didn't know who the xxx is this guy, quite good, until today I know who he is and why he is good. hehe.

  • Love his teachings!

  • there is a lot to learn from him! Sifu Gary Lam rocks!!!

  • Hehe^^

    "Alles gut?"

"Ja klar.. da passiert gar nix beim Großmeister."

    Gary Lam is amazing!

  • watch Sifu evangelos as well. Good Wing Chun Sifu comes from a good Wing chun Master!

  • man... such crap... go watch Barry Lee or Philipp Bayer and then come talk about wing chun...

  • @gegenvazel You got to be joking right? Way to disrespect Barry Lee's and Phillip Bayer's Dai-sihing.

  • @papertiger7 I agree with you, disrespect it is! Barry would say to mind your own training.

  • @gegenvazel They are sihing and sidai. Sifu Gary Lam, Sifu Phillipp Bayer, Sifu David Peterson are under Wong Shun Leung. *sigh*

  • @gegenvazel Gary Lam would fuck them up.

  • @gegenvazel pff....smart talk from a guy sitting in front of a pc....Grandmaster Lam is the best....

  • It Seems to me that sifu has dome street experience

  • i think.. given his belly and size, i'll just run if i get into a fight with him - i have a better chance of outrunning him than fighting XD

haha kidding kidding :P no offence. i really wish to learn wing chun. (Y)

  • I like the Mr. Lamb chops and punches. I see deep dish style pizza skills and wonderful delightful Kung Fu. Fists fly. People fall. Kicks. Punches. High Karate chops. Hands. Wing arm techniques. Flying Tae Kwodo moves. Mixed Martial Arts magic. Throws. Sweeps. Street defense. Happy times makes you a better wing man. The best wing moves every. Big boot in the eye fight.

  • this is great to watch. Sifu Lam is a lot of fun to watch when teaching his students.

But I'd love to see demonstrations of how to handle combinations of punches that don't stem from the wing chun punch though. like a real skilled puncher that throws his weight into it a bit and folows up. are there any by Sifu Lam that touches on this?

  • that white guy was pissed at the end lololololo..

  • Master Lamb is very good at WC, but a very good/master boxer can make him look bad. It's very easy to look great in familiar training surroundings. I won't discount the effectiveness of WC in close quarters combat on the streets against untrained rivals, though. But people don't normally fight WC style in reality. Street fighting is dynamic.

  • @MindBat damn right man, but i want to give u a advice watch ip man movie 2 there u will see some wing chun against boxing and u see also that wng chun even works against boxing,b ut like u said wing chn needs a lot of hitting and boxing needs one hit to knock u down thats the weakness of wing chun

  • @wingchun91 not true at all about wing chun needing lots of punches. The fact that the system can employ a lot of punches says nothing about its power. I train with a guy who can send you flying from a punch length of 300mm. Its a strength of wing chun. Training to develop that explosive twitch power from such little range is hard, but amazing when achieved.

  • @wingchun91 , don't agree with you on your last point, "WT need lots of Hit". One inch punch is used in WT, one punch enough also applys to WT. one hit from boxing will win the game, so one hit from WT won't?

  • @MindBat you re absolutely right! !

  • @MindBat , somehow agree with you, if a well trained boxer fight with Lam, he might not have a chance to apply his skills, but I don't think the good boxer could take any advantage, WT use footwork as well. Also the box dare not getting too close to Lam, that is advantage of WT, finger, elbow, wresting, etc while boxing has limited skills in close combat.

  • @asianboycn Notice that in boxing matches they constantly get tangled up with each other and separated by the ref. That doesn't happen in the street and Sifu Lam teaches how to control those close distance situations to gain and keep a dominant position. If a boxer doesn't win the initial long distance gamble with a wing chun practitioner then the boxer is in trouble. Boxing is still a great thing for fighters to learn for numerous reasons.

  • @asianboycn how about manny pacquiao?

  • wing chun isn't that bad.. but it lacks the knockout power of a boxing punch

  • @1987slam the idea is that we punch continuously..

  • @1987slam huh? who said that? LOL wing chun can kill you. see how that dude flies back even without Gary hitting? HAHAHA

  • @1987slam

Wing Chun strikes are aimed at the throat, sternam, eyes and joints mainly.

  • Impressive! So effortsless and yet so powerful.

Yin to Yang. That's how wing chun is meant to be.

  • What i like about Gary lam is he's so smooth and effortless just how wing chun should be!

  • He knows wing chun

    its the way man!

  • Gary Lam greately contributed to the Martial Art World by giving it Gary Lam Wing Chun.

It is considered by many to be a complete Martial Art. It involves the spirit, the mind and the body, the elements that all martial art forms should have, and its simplicity and effectiveness makes it easy to grasp by its practitioners.

    Thank you Sigung!

  • that move where he drags him to the ground with his arm, we call that in america a "clothes line". LOL.

  • respect to the student, who is taking a beating and actually has a lot of stamina. Ou of respect he nver touches Sifu Lam, however, this student will only become mor and more dangerous if he continues to spar with Sifu Lamb. Hats off to you!!!!

  • I'm sorry but that student wasn't even aiming at Lam's face. Most of the time the student was aiming at about 3 inches away from Lam's chest. Lam is nice but that student could've nailed him if he wanted to. Much respect to the humility and respect of the student.

  • @VicJones01 that us how you train in chun or demonstrate. Cos it trains the centerline and is lower risk of injuring your partner. Ive punched 2 guys in the face during training, luckily not hard. But still.

  • This guy is awesome. You can tell he was Wong Shun Leung student.

  • I try to live up to the example set by great practitioners of the WSL style if wing chun. I have demonstrated some techniques in the videos that I have uploaded. Respect to evangelos and gary lam.

  • Wow... I see this sifu for the first time. Very inspiring... He is so skillful... A big respect from Wing Chun practitioner from Poland.

  • I looked a few spots GARY LAM. And, until recently, unaware of its existence, while studying martial arts for almost 20 years. And I must say, his version of WC, seems very vital. WC, in my opinion, has always been more an idea than a finished style. GARY LAM does everything quite logical, it is not a complete system, but the steps in this direction have already been made. Do not judge strictly for my English. I am writing from Ukraine.

  • I think you make a good point, copykadaze.

  • great video. One of the few good wing chun videos online :)

  • Yip I need to go to LA for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hello please check universetechnique, universetechnique2, greatsorcerer, greatsorcerer2, thaijellybean242. Thank you. Enjoy learn something new. View all my favorite. Thank me later. Be a part of what I know.Welcome to my life. You have been selected to view the opening movie trailer of the movie Touch of Fluid.Remember I was here today and time era. Thai

  • This is a very good Master. This Masters I would like to see in a fight. Out there Master good like Mr Lam. There are more Master like him out there imagine.Thai

  • lol. wad if someone uses Di Tang Quan or wad, wad can he do??? and if it comes to real fighting, the enemy wont be so stupid to get hit so eeasily, he would surely dodge or hit back.... wad if the enemy uses his legs?? hahahaha

  • his whole thing is about taking position, and if applied correctly somebody who weaves or dodges will be pushed/knocked out of position and struck even more effectively. Also knowing the Gary Lam was an accomplished Muay Thai fighter, I would rather try to sock him than kick him.

  • What do you know about him and Wing Tzun ? I am not from his organization but I respect him so much. He is a pretty inspiring person. And you know what ? He was challenged by a 4th Dan Tae Kwon Do master... The first stint lasted 4 seconds. The second 4 again .... Gary laid him on the ground .... Defeated him.

  • Sifu Gary Lam will be in London UK Oct 10th and 11th for a 2 day seminar. U can go for both days or etiher day if ur schedule doesn't allow. Hey, he's inviting those who attend to chisao with him if U want. Have fun ! LOL!

  • 2:36

    OMG.

  • dayummm dat dude's untouchable....wud b crazyy 2 start a fight wit a guy like dat

  • I wouldn't worry yourself about what Gary eats or doesn't eat, just start worrying when he lands one on your chin end

  • I would worry about a man that size if he lands on your bell end, Velasca.

  • What a great video! How come he doesn't use the stance I see most wing chun guys use?

  • That's just to train strength, balance, endurance etc. once you get to certain levels you attain that in more natural stances.

  • im not sure but i think it would be so when he fights in the street he doesnt stand like that and so he just fights from any position that way, thats what i think any way.

  • master wong taught him well.

  • Why, U don't luv to eat your fav foods in your own culture? A common man's delight. SIfu is an awesome teacher, gr8 sense of humor and humble. Give some respect!!

  • TO all idiots who criticize my Sifu,

he has nothing more that he needs to prove!! Morons! Don't U know we are in the WSL lineage?

There is a high standard to uphold. U go win fights and tournaments like he has when he was younger, then come and talk chit! He's 58 and has every right to enjoy extra portions of his fav Chinese dishes here in the Chinese community of Monterey Park Calif. Lotta awesome restaurants, ya heard??!!

  • To all you critics of my Sifu, who is a humble teacher, and has already won fights and tournaments when he was a younger man...has nothing more to prove!!!! You earthworms go do what he did, win those fighting tourney trophies, then come and talk!! Morons! He's 58 yrs old already, if he wants to enjoy some extra portions of his favorite Chinese dishes in the Chinese community of Monterey Park Calif, he has the RIGHT !! He'll still fly U away!! Wanna feel his ChiGong!???

    Dumbazzes!! LOL!

  • Hi, I find Gary very inspirational. Beautiful to watch. I love his style. Anyone who has the opportunity to train under him is lucky indeed.

  • Sifu Lam deserves respect! No doubt! but some of you guys need to stop sending stupid messages around the tube! learn from whoever inspires you! It dosnt matter if you guys train all day you will only get better if you find peace by learning and i know some of you guys can kick my ass but it had to be said!

  • would like to see a student who hits back, this way they could learn something else than to hail to they supreme master. see him teaching kicks must be hillarious.

  • oh god, i tried and failed horribly.

  • Where did he get the Aikido influence from?

  • very casual but he knows what he is doing. great master.

  • let him pass let him pass... a lot or ppol would be tempted to block it at first instance.

he has total control.. knows when to pass.. knows when to block.. knows when to strike/attack...

great teacher .. teaches by example.

  • " Have a control when you are playing or teaching, you cannot hurt your students. Otherwise, you're not a teacher "

    5.05

He is very good. I like him.

  • I love it when he says 'finish' after he chins the bloke, especially his little smile after he takes a funny turn at 3:00

  • sifu is sick..... he is a really down to earth sifu.... he is very humble.....I lilke learning from him..........

  • I am not surprised you think he is "sick" - the amount of food he obviously consumes is enough to make most people feel a bit ill.

  • GREAAAAAT Stuff!!

  • gnicevids how authorised are you to say he is or isn't better than emin? from the vids ive seen he is every bit as good if not better, but then again they are both good and who am I to judge them and really you need to cross hands to really know not watch you tube vids!

  • I agree Gary & Emin are both very capable Sifus who have PRACTICAL fighting skills as well as the technical ability.

Emin obviously spends some time in the gym while Gary prefers restaurants though...

  • This is pure wing chun, not a combination of MMA and wing chun Raizdabomb

  • Master Lam is FKING SICK!!

I love how he transitions from bong/tan sao and blocking with both hands so effortlessly he has really inspired me.

    25 STARS FOR MASTER LAM

PS: He's totally underrated---this guy will KILL Sam Kwok--he has more spirit and asswhoopin experience from H.K.

  • Unlike many other top Wing Chun practitioners Gary doesn't seem to be really egotistical, he never goes on about how great he is and what he can do, he just gets on with it and does it very well!

  • That is the most profound & honest thing you have written, Velasca.

I wish there were more WC Sifus who just got on with it.

  • this is a nice combination of MMA and winchun unlike fags who dont like getting hit

  • A boxer will get hit a lot more in his training than an MMAer.

  • are you crazy ??????

thats 100 percen classical wing chun

this man is one of the best wing chun practioner i ever saw

5 STARS FOR MY IDOL LAM SIFU

    LOOL

  • So much power from structure and all that. Bloody inspiring to see him in action.

Im always interested how his technique would work against a boxer, someone who really snaps his punches. Im guessing he would just control and take the position. If a boxer put up his guard, couldnt you pak his elbow, or just in front, and then get to his side..?

  • He does have another hand that you would be loading up if you did that. So no.

  • Yea I always want to see some sparring between someone who practices wing chun and a boxer. It'll be pretty interesting.

  • HE IS BY FAR THE BEST.

  • he is not better then sifu emin boztepe

  • No comparisions please.

Sifu Gary Lam is very very good.

If all of you guys ever noticed, he is one of the very FEW sifus who actually know how

to express the principles and techniques in ENGLISH making his students quite

    devastating fighters.

Advice to all WC fighters studying under

Chinese sifus. Take PRIDE and LEARN

    CHINESE :)

  • but i do like him he is very good

  • My all-time fav Wing Chun video on YT. Gary SLAM rocks.

  • beautiful.. his wing chun is extraordinary.. so fluid and direct, yet so fast and powerful.. all at the same time.. really depicts the essence of a true sifu.

  • Good stuff. Videos never show moves as good as they are in person, but the guy seems good. His coat is annoying me in this vid though. Take it off! I know he's going for a street look but I prefer demos where you can see the hands and arms clearly. I feel sorry for his student. I know Gary Lam isn't using full power, but with masters of that level, they hit hard even when they don't mean to!

  • Sifu Gary LAM's moves are so natural that i find a kind of beauty in his practice of wing chun : he is wing chung ! It will be a good idea to put Sifu Gary LAM in the next game Street Fighter 5 for PS3 ! ;))

  • It's strange this guy did not become a graffity on the matterss. :-)

  • if he sat on him he would

  • Would Gary Lam beat Simon Lau in a real fight?

  • i would started to hate that blue mattress...

i would like to see real fight with that technics. it's just exersises, intresting, but still exersises.

  • u cant expect sifu lam to smash his students man.

i practice under the guy and ive applied what he's taught successfully a few times. its sound and solid, i just need to practice more.

  • respect...

gary lam is not even using the true power of wing chun... and ... there are lots more techniques (most are hidden)... this is just a little demo.

    respect...

  • leung ting have to see what is the real wing chun..

  • My Sifu (not Gary Lam) has had many real fights and in every situation he has been untouchable.

  • My Sifu (not Gary Lam)has done it for real quite a few times and has always been untouchable in real situations!

  • awesome, very good hand technique

  • Thats intense and i know it works but, its going to be hard to apply in a uncontrolled fight. The teacher looks strong though. It would be interesting to see a full contact fight with a guy as experienced as him.

  • well done mr lam...the bong-lop fighter!exciting promotion video,now i know where is the school,train my skills...goodnight to you.

  • He's really awsome! It seems that when he finds a clear way to go, he punches. That's one of the basic principles of WT, and looks like they use it even at higher levels :D Nice!

  • This guy is the best I´ve seen on YouTube. He may be out of shape, but he´s so quick and precise he doesn´t need to be in shape, one throat strike and it´s over. Stamina is for fighting with gloves in tournaments, street fights don´t last very long. Why so much talk about stamina?

  • because not every fight takes only 1 throat strike.

  • siiiick !

  • no stamina ...cose ...speak when demonstrate ...try to do this and see how difficult is .

GARY LAM s BEST IN THE WORLD !

  • For a person to question the ability of Gary Lam is a Fool. Any person who trains on a regular basics whether sparring & or their techniques will become better including fitness. I have been involved in martial arts for over 18 yrs and Wing Chun is very effective if you take the time to train.

Before you question a person ability better be sure you understand the art being shown demostrated. Even our senior students in our style have total respect and would never question Grandmaster ability

  • I'm a big fan of master lam and I can tell he's the real deal. However I'm not sure I would say he is the world leading authority on wing chun. Because Ip ching is still alive. But he defiantly is one of leading authorities

  • suck my dick jazz123214.what the fuck do u know.

  • i can kick this guys ass... he is too out of shape to be effective

  • You dont really need to be that fit in wing chun...it hardley requires much energy or stamina. Just finish the opponent of as quickly as possible.

  • great clips, some issues with elbow postions in the clip ,,but nirpal you dont know your wing well ...you need stamina and fitness to fight well and chi sau in sets ,i have trained with yip ching and most of the chinese want to chi sau with you for hours ,spar with you none stop ,,in fact their is a test they do to you ,the 12 horse test, chi and spar with trapping and strikes with 12 atheltes one after the other,..

  • even though i agree somewhat with nirpal, that seem awesome.

  • fitness are ppol who doesnt know wing chun very well.

to compensate for their lack of skills they do marathon training. if you like fitness go to a fitness instructor.millions of them about.

if you want to know how to fight go to gary lam. theres only one gary lam in this planet.

    respect...

  • jjhaywood said: "i can kick this guys ass... he is too out of shape to be effective "

Allow me to respectfully say that in just 15 words you've demonstrated that you are fascinatingly ignorant.

  • he lacks stamina. but he is really a master!

  • a master with no stamina ..one must master him self ,discipline himself to be a master..martial arts whether THAI,UFC MMA ,OR KUNG GU ...is the mastering of oneselfs ,mind, body and spirit, that is one must maintain body fitness to allow one to freely move fast, strike fast and win quickly,in todays street ...more criminals are irratatic and dangerous, they need to be hurt quickly ,.or in twos ..so fitness is needed in wing chun ...

  • Galacticus07 it's "Kung Fu", not "Kung Gu"! XD I know you know it, but it's a funny mistake, peace, thanks for the good luck but I swallowed hard my milk.

  • stfu, he won tournment already back in the days, dumb ass

  • I'm in the UK, I've never seen anyone as good. Please you have to save wing chun in the UK by opening a school!!Gary Lam is one BAD MOFO love your style!

  • i feel u partner. i like how he says "fighting is like this, but not playing. but when u do (play, practice) u need control.

  • i like how he backs up at 4:55 and then stops and engages infighting. thats really fucking awesome

  • why is wing chun all chi sau and no sparing?

  • well chi sao is demanded for good wing chun. but then free sparring is demanded to learn how to adapt wing chun to actual fighting.

  • because sparing is useless in most martial arts any way. You don't attack attack someones eyes or knees or throat. Sparring is basically a useless sport karate match. There is no real lesson in that except how not to fight. Chi sao is a sensitivity drill and this is a very important skill to develop for close quarters fighting where distances and travel times to impact are short. I am very new to Wing Chun but i have studied other arts for a number of years. Forgive any mistakes I've made.

  • sparring is not useless. people spar, or play with a closed fist or a palm because they are safer. if u spar with control, u will know when u could have landed the hit, and if u can punch someone on the chest u can certainly hit them on the throat. if u can tag the face with a punch and with control, u can most certainly poke the eyes. but thats a bit ruthless and should only be used in life threatening situations...or so ive been told.

  • That is not sparring. then again, I've only got 17 years training - WTF do I know? Sparring is what kids like to do when they put on gloves and just play around. If you train for a sport karate fight, you will fight like it during the real deal. What you are referring to is controlled demo (which is the only form I use) and not sparring. Go to any school in the country and say "sparring" and they will think if gloves, pads, and point match. Controlled demo is safely performing a technique.

  • my friend i am a sifu in wing, sensei in ju jitsu adn a kru in thai and 2nd dan in krav ..you need sparring in order to work targetting ,endurance ,fitness and stamina ,but best of all to couple all your body weapons togeather, then work them in conjunction,in wing you can work 3rd form strikes wearing a good head guard, shin guard, mouthguard, mma gloves, etc ..and really go for it,if you do not train to get hit ,then you will never be able to react correctly in the street ...trust me i know .

  • hard bastard

  • Hah, that dude is a bad ass.

  • wow!! Gary Lam .. be nice to your student.. hhehe.. U are good!!! I love it

  • So nice to watch Gary Lam! Great!

  • So nice to watch Gary Lam! Great!

  • Is Gary Lam as good as Dan Inosanto?

  • Why do U even ask? besides his Muay Thai training, Sifu Gary Only teaches Wing chun. whereas Guro Dan studies multiple arts & systems. is Guro Dan's knowledge of WC as deep as Sifu Gary's? probably not!

  • sifu gary lam is about 50plus years old i guess.he is incredible even his students are also amazing
