@BeatleSongPlayer No,Thank You,your guitars had me drooling a bit,I love That Rickenbacker with 3 pick up's.I liked your performance too.Peace my friend.
Thanks...that is a sweet guitar and bass--and you sing real nice with yourself...all the things you share are like that...lots of talent and love for the Beatles...Thanks
This one was recorded on an old Teac 2340-A 4 track reel to reel machine. Some of my other songs were recorded on a Tascam 388 "Studio 8", and one was recorded on my computer using some sort of software. I don't recall what it was because my son did all the work on the recording end. All I did was play and sing the parts. Thanks for your comment. BSP
I loved your arpeggios - the best Ive heard, despite not being on 12-string. I presume George overdubbed the fill at the end of the first verse, as the 12-string arpeggios continue at the same time. I think the last chord of the song is a 3-note harmonic on the 7th fret.
Thanks BSP for the nice comment.Sorry to hear of your misfortune. You've done such a great job with these recordings. I think we share the same attention to detail! Take care.
Thanks BSP for your nice comment. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. You've done a great job on these recordings, and I find it great to listen to such attention to detail. I learn something new every time I listen to these great songs.

Your home recordings blow me away! Everything is so tastefully done with exceptional sound quality. Any chance of sharing some of your recording secrets? :)
No........LOL!! Just kidding mate. I recorded this one back in 1983 on an old Teac 2340-S reel-to-reel machine. I had no mixer, no effects, I just plugged a shure SM-57 into each channel, watched the VU meters, and then bounced the tracks down with "Y" cables that I bought at Radio Shack. I wish it were more glamorous, but it's not LOL!! The music comes from your heart, soul and fingers. Don't let the recording process overwhelm you. Just hit "record" and sing and play. Good luck, BSP
Thanks guitarman63mm. I still own that deck, but my Ex wife bought a bunch of cats without asking me if it was Ok. One of them pissed in it, so I'm not sure if it still works. I moved out and left it there, along with all of my other shit, but freedom is well worth the price!!! It's like getting out of prison. My "And your Bird can Sing" vid was recorded on computer software, but I miss good old tape recorders. They seemed to work pretty well for The Beatles. Thanks for your comment. BSP
LOL!.....and here I am marvelling at that wonders of computer programs!....ya, it's in the fingers, I know. :)
But, you'd never want to hear me sing! NO
amount of reverb could ever cover that up!
John Phillips said that they would practice their harmonies until "Harvy showed up"....lol....that was the Mamas & Papas term for the harmonics that came about from everyone hitting their notes spot on. I think you've found 'Harvey'! :)
I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to begin watching/listening to your vids. PLEASE forgive me. You are very talented. Your sound is very soothing- just what I need after a hard evening at work. This is very relaxing- do you give foot rubs as well? :)
Thanks Deb, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, so I guess we are even LOL!! I'm glad you liked this one and found it soothing. I'm sure we can work something out on the foot rub LOL!! Thanks for taking the time to watch Deborah, I really appreciate it. It's good to have you as a friend!! Jimmy aka BSP
Actually Janice, this is ALL John, I've got a bootleg of him working it up at home on a cheap cassette player. He was a bit jealous of Paul's "And I Love Her", so he knocked this one off in about 20 minutes. Must be nice LOL!! BSP
Personally, I don't like "Pauls" part. I used to smoke and I couldn't hit it full voice so I sang it falsetto, which is too "pussy" sounding. I never intended for anyone to hear any of my songs, it was just me goofing around in my music room, way before youtube was ever thought of. But at the risk of sounding arrogant, I think it's better than alot of the garbage on here, so that's why I posted it. BSP
Thank you Dave, I love your version of "More Today than Yesterday". ATTENTION ALL YOUTUBERS. Please check out "More today than Yesterday" by "fredthejunkman", it is fantastic. If you don't agree, I'll give you your money back LOL!! DAVE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes lyndeer, when I opened my new account, I uploaded all my vids in stereo. This is how I recorded them, but YouTube dumps everything to mono and compresses the dynamic range. A friend told me how to get around that and upload in stereo. Glad you noticed the difference. Thanks for your comment. PS Stay in school young lady!!!!
Thanks again lyndeer. Make sure you are learning some songs that you like. Most guitar teachers have you play things you may not like, but it's for a reason, it's to teach different chord structures and theory. It may seem boring now, but it comes in handy down the road. Stick with it Ok? BSP
Thanks SilverrNGold, Paul was always known as the "romaitic" one, but John could write them too. I read that John was kind of jealous of Paul's "And I Love Her", so John wrote this as his romantic one. That's one of the things that made The Beatles so great, that friendly little competition between John and Paul.
Does anyone special come to mind for you in this song BSP LOL...... sorry if that sounds like im prying i was just wondering x .....god your a dam good singer Mr x
Thanks Clint. Yeah I didn't realize when I first uploaded these that YouTube dumped everything to mono. And everything in a stereo mix seems to get lost when played in mono. Fredthejunkman and Goldhat3 were kind enough to clue me in on how to upload in stereo, so thanks guys.
My pleasure. I am telling everybody how to hack the stereo encoding on youtube. The secret is out! Now if only we can get them to pay us a little something for all this high quality content eh?
Thanks Mark, yeah the stereo upload is the only way to go, thanks so much for your help. I don't think I'm going hold my breath for the check though!!
