If parking at SJS is such a problem, why are you living that far from campus. As an alum, I'd recommend you find a rental within walking distance. You'd not only save on parking, but car payments, insurance, etc.
If you need a ride to the beach on weekends, try making more friends on campus. I went through six semesters without a car.
