  • I NEED THIS :D

  • and thus cod was born

  • 7 dollars?

that was like, all the money in the world back then

  • @joseaca Adjusted for inflation, that would be about 51 dollars today. Just the tommy gun ($3.00) would be about 22 dollars.

  • Where can I get one

  • Thats awesome ONLY 3.00$! Now this time it cost like 12.00$ suckish!

  • Burglar is Otis the drunk from Andy Griffith Show, also did an LA cartoon show sposored by IHOP called "The Pancake Man" in the early 60's..

  • Still wondering why this was listed as one of the 15 most "sexist" commercials ever. I thought it was okay.

  • I live in New York it's illegal to have a toy gun that looks real 😢

  • Try making a kids gun commerical now a days lol

  • "Tommy Gun toy"- turning young boys into killers since 1961"

  • Fuck videogames! This is the best!

  • I'm old enough to remember this. I nearly shot brother's eye out with one. Ah! The good old days.

  • OMGDOWANT

  • I WANT IT! OH GOD I'M 21 AND I WANT IT SO BADLY!

  • i have to admit... that looks pretty cool!!!

  • I want one of those

  • WTF. I grew up in teh wrong generation.

  • my uncle had one of these...but it was broken then i fixed it...then right before i could shoot it my dad broke it...i was p.o.

  • wow , for only like 3-7 bucks is a nice price.

  • the voice is otis from the andy griffith show and the bad guy getting shot is otis

  • I wanted one of these so bad when I was a kid. The name doesn't ring a bell, but I sure remember the gun. Fake sound effect in the ad! But they were cool because even without caps they made a cool noise. Not as cool as with. I had to settle for one the crank-action burp guns (plastic version of the M3 "grease gun"). Which was pretty neat, but you never saw guys in war movies turning a crank to fire their submachine guns.

  • there are tons of these in aus!

    There are AK-47

M4 and pistols! No orange caps and

they are actual size! Best of all there 10 bucks!

  • 7 dollars? that would cost 30 dollars today!

  • @mastercheif79 More like 50$: usinflationcalculator . com

  • @mastercheif79 if mid 60's it'd be $35.00..... loved cap guns used to take a hammer to a whole roll ....

  • @irish89055 Well thank you, you just answered a needless question I was about to ask.

All I could think of was GrandDad from Boondocks, asking Riley if he knew how much he could buy in the 40s with 2 dollars. :D

  • @BenCostaII depends when in 40's... basically a multiple of 7 or 8.... the 1920's into the 30's .... X 10 the price for todays worth..

  • 0:46 - Looks like his dad didn't teach him how to pull the trigger right. :P

  • I was a kid in the 1960's and used to have one of those sets. Toy guns and candy cigarettes... Yep, we had it made back then!

  • thats why they didnt have faggots or very few in those years!

  • @999basille no, no. It's today's weak social norms.

  • pop pop watchin motherfuckas drop

  • the worst bandid i ever saw

  • Wasn't 7 dollars back then worth a lot?

  • @soulthepinkmage

Sort of kind of. 1 dollar back then was like 6 or 7 dollars today.

  • OMG only 3 dollars

  • "Perfect for your 10 year old who will be drafted into Vietnam in 8 to 9 years!"

  • back in the days when the toy companies weren't pussies. srsly, NERF gun? And now, NERF swords? WTH?

  • sweet

  • Fuck that's cool. Toys ain't the same these days.

  • IT'S A CAP GUN PEOPLE! THEY ARE THE SAME PRICE.

  • Holy fuck do all of you people seriously not get that inflation is a thing?

  • I want it so bad!

  • 3 Dollars? WHOZAHS

  • You would never see a toy this cool in today's market... suck it, pansy ass America!

  • OMG I wanna get this!

  • GREENIE STICKEM CAPS!!!

  • Wow only $3.00 and $7.00 for toys like this? wow things used to be so affordable back then.

  • @wappahawlic Not really. $3 was a lot of money back then. Inflation.

  • Now adays you can buy the real things and get caught by the real police

  • where can I buy this stuff nowadays?

  • ahw wtf Only 3 dollars ? I want to life in that time

  • @leoniscoolful yeah but three dollars then is like maybe 9 dollars now, thats on a give or take average

  • I need one

  • Holy Shit Better than an Airsoft gun ! x)

  • Now, the time is changing, you can smoke marijuana , be a gay, pay taxes and more taxes, violent movies in tv, blood in oceans, tv war, but toy guns ...

  • These kids know what's up! God bless the 2nd amendment!

  • Dear santa......

  • It was always my dream to have a Toy Tommy Gun.

  • Try to take that toy through the TSA check point ......

  • i so want this

  • WOW 7$ WHAT A DEAL

  • pop pop pop watching mutha fuckas drop

  • I pity kids these days...they have no idea what good toys we had, and how much better our tv was too...

  • When this first aired, a young Hunter S Thompson discovered masturbation.

  • Seven dollars? That would be like seventy now, if not more.

  • The government didn't have a problem with this but they were afraid of The Beatles and comic books :P

  • @00shadowLord I know. The absurd panic over allegations that Batman was gay led to actual gay comics with an actual gay agenda. And they're not even fun to read.

I can mildly understand the panic over the Beatles. But honestly if they were scared of the Beatles, they should've taken Whitiker Chambers' warnings about Alger Hiss more seriously when they had the chance.

Derida was a much bigger threat than John Lennon. And remember Bill Ayers? Got off on a technicality.

  • @00shadowLord

It's likely to be more subtle than that. These toys were nothing more than objects, whereas The Beatles and comic books represented numerous symbols that might have inspired the people to go against the design of the world order or at least against their government.Giving kids toy guns gave the illusion of several kinds of freedom, while they tried to eliminate,or at least dampen, symbols that were more likely to influence the public against them, without the people suspecting it

  • this was the birth father of MW3 where kids his age started getting 6th prestige to this day.

  • back before single mothers ruined their children..

  • Just all kinds of awesome here! :D

  • This is back when toys were fun... and dangerous. LoL I thought the stuff I had in the 80s was fun, but this beats it.

  • Notice how they gave the bad guy a german gun :)

  • @TheMikaboshi Yup.... A Walther P-38.

  • I grew up in the 90's and we had these commercials on tape. You have no idea how much I longed for these toys. NO IDEA.

    I wanted Sgt Saunder's 1928A1 more than anything. F*** super soakers. F*** laser tag. F*** alien-colored NERF guns. I wanted a THOPMSON.

Every year I put the Tommy Burst and ThunderBurp on my Christmas list. I dreamed of them. I watched these commercials over and over and over. But I knew I could never have them. Just a scratchy black and white memory of simpler times...

  • @Rotard12a: Combat! reference! (Sgt. Saunders)

  • wow datz fli lol i just got suspended from school for shooting a high powered cap gun in the bathroom lol and this lil fagg snitched i fliped dat nigguh lol every boddy that heard the shots was like oh shiit wtf..

  • I have 7 dollars

  • Love seeing these old videos.

CapGuns.Org has the latest and greatest cap guns legally available.

  • what the fuck is goin on with toys these days...I'd kill for that...

  • the 60`s.? $7 for a QUALITY built toy? no cowardly parents to over protective to even beat there kids if they did something stupid? ahh, the best decades in American history were in the 20th century.

  • for the best experience, set to 240p ;)

  • "They're banning the toy guns... AND KEEPING THE FUCKING REAL ONES!" -George Carlin

seriously, the 50's sound like they rocked. Hell, I'd revert every societal/social change in this country since then just to live like that.

  • The toys was cheap and made with care!

  • Toy guns these days are no fun... I'm 15 and if I had a gun like this now, I'd have fun all day!

  • "You better run, run, run...out-run my gun!"

  • this looks awesome, wtf happened to toys...

  • 3 dollars or 300?

  • when toys werent shity

  • can't beat the good old days

  • now i know what i want for christmas.....

  • that little g man just shot otis the town drunk of mayberry.all otis was doing was looking for a bottle of old harper.

  • Such better days when people took care of themselves and were honest. Thanks for this!

  • Comment removed

  • My uncle has one!

  • I WANT THIS!!

  • WHY DON'T THEY HAVE THIS TODAY?!?

  • @kiba337 Because of liberals and idiots.

  • It would cost $52 today. Still worth it! I wish I was a kid in the 60s.

  • I wish I had lived during this time. Oh man I would pay for one of those.

  • I want to stock up on them there "Safe Shootin Shells"....ya never know these days

  • Rare....I saw it 10 times right here ..today ! Killer

  • Cole Phelps: the early years.

  • And you can shot sandniggers from your neighborhood with it too!!1

  • @Naproxenum How do I shot sandnigger?

  • @Naproxenum

i hope that was written in the ultra-crude racist parody-type of humor, and not in the extremely offensive way. btw the ME region has harnessed the technology to browse YouTube

  • @dereljohnson Your regime can suck my not circumcised cock.

  • They sell these in Palmdale and Lancaster Ca only now there real.

  • i want the tommyburst thompson

  • Man, the cops would be at your door in a heartbeat if you owned one of these.

  • Kevin alone in home?

  • Aw shucks. I can't afford $7, not until I get five or six 1950's era paychecks.

  • The fat guy was after the kid cause he was into the mob for 50 large.

  • I'm lucky I didn't lose my hearing in the 1950's from detonating a set of toy gun "caps" with a hammer on the sidewalk. Couldn't hear a thing afterwards, just a lot of ringing.

  • @imjustpassinthru LOL....a HAMMER....see my posting from a few minutes ago......my brother and I used a "brick"

  • @inkey2 ... Yeah, I meant to say "roll" of caps. That's how they were sold as I recall. Well, those were the good old says. Lucky me, living in Southern California I got to see the original cowboy superheros riding their horses in the Rose Parade -- The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Wild Bill Hickcock, the Cisco Kid and Poncho, and Annie Oakley.

  • lol image if they made this nowadays

  • I had this set.

I wore the Machine Gun out.

If you put enough Greenie Stick Um Caps on the base of little plastic bullets these things would leave a bruise.

(I think you could put 3 on the base before it got to be too many for the hammer spring to pop them, but 3 was enough).

Anyone how even knows what Stick Um Caps were will know what I am talking about.

  • @hammerogod

Hahaha, I had completely forgotten about overpacking those shells with Greenie Stik-M-Caps. That was awesome. I asked my Dad once to pick up some Greenie roll caps but the toy store was sold-out. So, he bought a box of "Chinese Red" rolls, they were packed with twice the gunpower as the Mattel Greenies. Man, those caps sounded like firecrackers and they smoked like crazy. My Tommy Burst sounded like the REAL THING!!

  • @ctaesque here's a good one for you.....it must have been about 1962 my brother and I would take a full roll of caps, the red type that rolled up in a coil.......we would go out behind our suburban boston appartment and slam a whole roll with a brick......sounded like a bomb going off. The neighbors must have hated us

  • @ctaesque god these capguns are better than the ones we have now

  • @ctaesque

Mattel: Programming are children for warfare seance 1950

  • @hammerogod I had one too. They were cool.

  • Toys were cooler before.

  • I remember having that when I was a kid! I had soo much fun. Why dont they have toys like that anymore???

  • @joetubealong they do, at cabela's

  • When I was A Kid My parents gave Me a toy machine gun It was fun but I would have been much more happy If It was a real machine gun.

  • The bad guy is Otis from The Andy Griffith Show.

  • fuk i reather get this then a nerf gun for video and it cost less holly shit

  • damn that revolver looks really nice.

  • @Karpens16 oh, a lot of these toy guns were really nice. Many were all chrome plated "metal".....the grip would be a simulated wood or ivory. They had the heft and feel of a real gun.

  • You know how police officers say no playing with real guns OR fake guns that look real?Yeah, well that sums up this whole commercial.

  • I want one!

  • Pop Pop Pop

    Watchin' Motherfuckas Drop

  • Even though I'm not old enough to remember this, in the 90s our capguns still looked like guns, the grips being wood coated and the barrels being traditional gunmetal silver; the only difference is we had the orange plug.

The toy rifles you'd find at certain theme parks still had that vintage look of wooden grip and gunmetal barrel, again with the orange plug.

Now, not only do they have the orange plug, but some ugly green or orange color that looks really horrible and doesn't feel right at all

  • i would love this toy to come back! Old America come back!

  • The detective set sounds cool, but I want the gangster set, with pinstripe suit and drum magazine, haha.

  • Good God! And people complain about video games turning kids into homicidal maniacs. We have offically dropped our nuts straight into our purses. Or as we call them "European Shoulderbags".

  • What a great time in american history. Imagine having an awesome set like that...for $7!!!!!!!!

  • but Cathy your not a boy or are you?

  • so cheap

  • now this is a toy

  • What the heck! For three dollars you can turn your kids into mini mobsters, or terrorists!

  • @bluwingangel when it was 'politically correct' for kids to play with capguns, there weren't mass murdering lunatics or "terrorists", genius. lol

    '

  • toys now suck, wtf happened to this amazing shit! :P

  • O: I WANT ONE! for $7.00? Thats amazing!

  • Made in China

  • with 50000$ back then you would be rich

  • Back then it wasn't politically incorrect to like the police and call "bad guys" "bad guys"!!

  • Funny, back when toy guns were cool and kids at my high school carried loaded hunting rifles in the back window of their trucks in the STUDENT PARKING LOT we never had drug deals, gangs, shootings, or any other violence.

It's AFTER the idiot liberals took control of education that things went crazy!

  • Now that's a toy you can play with! A kid can get years of enjoyment with a little imagination and a pop gun. Not like those crappy robot toys you see on TV which last about Christmas day and then proceed to rot in the toy chest.

  • lol, don't u just love the slogan? "U can tell it's matell... it's swell!" lmao

  • Santa, I know what I want this Christmas...

  • These commercials were always the best!

  • woo what happend to toys like this.....

  • Man. Encyclopedia Brown aint got shit on this kid.

  • я всегда знал, что стволы у них продают по телику, cоoбщение для pуcскиx, мoe сoобщение это cтeб нaд Пиндoсaми =)
