I have had 4 911s, one TT, Two Gt3s and the new Carrera S PDK. Its as fast as anyother 911 I have had. The Turbo with a PDK would be cool but the C2S is as much car as anyone needs.
@pmc1905 the GTR is a clunker. There isnt any thing significant about it . It lacks the engineering which porsche has. All i can say is way to go Germany. oh, and also have your heard of the saying "you get what you pay for". If you buy that 135,000 dollar porsche its going to preform and act like a 135,000 dollar car. But what if you have like 40 grand to spend. What would the ultimate all round sports car be for you? Are there any relatively cheap alternatives? BMW Z4? Second hand Cayman? Nissan 370Z? BMW 135i?
just awesome. loven the new plus interiors now. they have come such a long way from even 3 years ago. loven that tranny to. im too lazy to shift gears these days. that tranny is perfect. that car is perfect.
that is a true supercar and downright macine not car. those HID headlights are also exclusive. much R&D went into designing the lens to give it a very unique look compared to other cars with HID's. rims are badass and FAT. car is awesome!

@PaulCLou I would in part note that Japanese labor would be pennies on the euro. Then i would put that into the equation of why they compare the 911 to the GTR. Both are great cars, however very few manufacturing nations can compare to the high level of ingenuity, innovation and engineering that the Germans are so well renowned for period. That said Porsche truly makes some of the most superb automobiles.

It is already faster than the Ferrari California. The ZR1 can't compete. The LP640 is just about in the same league but uses much more fuel. The nissan GTR is just the cheapest of the group. I tjink if Porsche tweaked the design a little bit more, they would probably get even more sales.But the new 911 turbo is great!! The turbo S should be much better!! Probably 0-60 in 2.9 with launch control :)
actually cases have been reported of this car, 911 turbo, not the S, doing 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. the turbo S then will probably do 0-60 in under 2.7. optimistically, 2.5
@Silver6533 actually the zr1 can complete...there is a video of both of these and depending on the driver, they are neck and neck and the zr1 will pull away once you go past 100mph it has way more horsepower and weighs just as much. and the 0-60 times are deceptive, you will not beat a higher horsepower car for long just because you have awd, ive seenz06 corvettes beat up on lamborghinis
Normally, I hate the Porsche 911. This is not the same. I love it. I still don't really like the styling, but the rest is fantastic. The only other 911s I like (or think I will like) are the GT3 RS and the GTS to come.

@ariell92 No I am not a badge whore, I am someone who grew up in Germany part of my life as an Army brat and simply understand the engineering that goes into something that can be taken out on the Autobahn and run as hard as you wish and not have it break. A little fact is that 2/3 of all Porsches EVER MADE are still running. Car and Driver has the 0-60 time at 2.6 for the new Turbo. The Nissan is what it is awesome without a doubt but for a child who lived around the Autobahn never be the same

@ariell92 The germans are not overpriced but they want to get money for their cars and you can also get one, while the Nissan does not make any money with the GTR because the price are only the production costs but that is no problem for Nissan because the GTR is limited to 60 piece a year.

ahhhhh im not critisizing but im still not a fan of turbos but they do seem to make this car absolutely amazing but i still prefer i believe is it the GT2 that naturally aspirated or is it the GT3 i always get mixed lol however which ever one is the N/A then its my fav porshe :)

To all people complaining about pdk...its the new way of the Turbo, i agree on the whole macho purity thing of manual gear box"-thats why you will but a gt2.

It is already faster than the Ferrari California. The ZR1 can't compete. The LP640 is just about in the same league but uses much more fuel. The nissan GTR is just the cheapest of the group. I tjink if Porsche tweaked the design a little bit more, they would probably get even more sales.But the new 911 turbo is great!! The turbo S should be much better!! Probably 0-60 in 2.9 with launch control :)

actually cases have been reported of this car, 911 turbo, not the S, doing 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. the turbo S then will probably do 0-60 in under 2.7. optimistically, 2.5

@Silver6533 actually the zr1 can complete...there is a video of both of these and depending on the driver, they are neck and neck and the zr1 will pull away once you go past 100mph it has way more horsepower and weighs just as much. and the 0-60 times are deceptive, you will not beat a higher horsepower car for long just because you have awd, ive seenz06 corvettes beat up on lamborghinis

Normally, I hate the Porsche 911. This is not the same. I love it. I still don't really like the styling, but the rest is fantastic. The only other 911s I like (or think I will like) are the GT3 RS and the GTS to come.

I really dont get how stupid people talksometimes.Not one of these morons will ever affors this car yet they talk like they are part of the cars amazing performance.A nissan gtr with 5000 in upgrades will beat this pdk porsche.And even better than that a manual 911 turbo still cant out accelerate a stock gtr.Handling and braking advantage goes to the nissan as well.All this at half the price.So what is the big deal over the 911?

I would buy a 2nd hand 997 porsche all I need to choose is if carrera 2s or turbo. and I would like to buy it much more than GT-R because I wanna use my car every day. I drove GT-R and it's hard, to hard to be honest and even more important is reliability, I can use porsche on circiut and than go home on it, GTR with all his faults noup. Colling of transimions? rubbish, lunch control? make rubbish from your gearbox etc. Extra money for*

@Howie262 yeah and dont forget the price .For very little money a gtr can be upgrated to ruin this porsches party.the gtr already outhandles it and sad as it might make you ,the turbo needs pdk to beat the nissan in a drag race.The 2012 gtr will have 530 h.p and recalibrated transmission and will be about half the price of your i ll never own one cause i cant afford one porsche!

but for the sake of the argument, yes... the Porsche PKD's are way faster...

@Howie262 First of all you dont know me so dont tell me i talk about cars i dont know of.I had a 911 turbo my brother has a gtr and i now drive a c6 z06.The last gtr was faster than any 911 turbo except the pdk.It outhandled the porsche.The 2012 gtr will accelerate at least as fast as a pdk kill it in handling and so what if it comes with only one transmission.The gtr is simply the best car available for the money period!

And btw.... any dual clutch is going to be faster 0-60 when comparing to a standard (once again, you have a non-argument)
Besides its not faster because its ligher or has more power... infact it looses terribly to any porsche in that field...
which is why the GTR absoulutely needz to have a dual clutch and short gears. other wise it would be shit.
