Hey man, not sure if you have been there / done that already but figured I would mention it. I shimmed my roof braces (with wood) then wrapped them in SS. Down the center i did 5-6 layers in the rear 1/3rd of the truck and obviously foamed everything.

Sucks for me that I have a moon roof though so doing it up front was a mess and not too effective. The point is I guess the two best things you can do is shim the braces and coat the crap out of them. Worth the 100's to keep from welding the roof.
