I want this song to be played at my funeral. When I pass on - into Heaven, my loved ones will know that death is not something to fear, but to be embraced. Part of Prof. Tolkien's works in the Simallrion was what the Elves called the "Gift of Men".
This gift is limited life. The fact that the Elves do not age means they become sad and lonely - they have to walk the world forever. Unlike humans - who would pass on and find eternal peace.
Thanks for this, I soooo much love LOTR and the soundtrack, especially this song. To me it sounds kind of very spiritual, pure feelings, still goosebumps every time I hear it...
As much as I liked the movies, I actually thought the love scenes between Aragorn and Arwen were a bit too visually playful rather than implied like in the books. It kind of failed to capture the imagination of the story. Still, the movies were well done nonetheless.
Gutes Video mit passender Musik, aber ich glaube dieses Lied gehört zum Titel: The Council of Elrond, bin aber nicht sicher. Evenstar wird (wenn ich mich nicht irre) von Isabel Bayrakdarian gesungen.
O môr henion i dhu: Ely siriar, el síla Ai! Aníron Undómiel Tiro! El eria e mor. I 'lir en el luitha 'uren. Ai! Aniron... Translation: From darkness I understand the night: dreams flow, a star shines Ah! I desire Evenstar Look! A star rises out of the darkness The song of the star enchants my heart Ah! I desire...
If there is to be one thing to achieve during my time here on earth, it would be to find pure love like Arwen & Aragorn. A love that is intoxicating and as deep and endless as the ocean. Wouldn't that be sublime?
@heidrunf I hope no one thinks this is spam, but in answer to your question, look up 'Enya - May it Be - Final Fantasy VIII'; beautiful too. Both beautiful.
I can't think of any deeper and more pure lovestory than that of arwen and aragorn; for example if you compare this to story of romeo and julliet, the ultimate lovestory in western culture. julliet doesn't want to live anymore without romeo and takes her live, arwen doesn't want to live without aragorn and gives up immortality and eden-like valinor, which is an far more greater sacrifice.
what do the elven words on the stone at the beginning say? i could only make out the first few letters. i think it was g l i r a ... that's all i could see. (yes i can read elf thank you very much) i wasn't 100% sure about the first letter. the first two look like they are missing pieces.
Congratulations Wolfshead2! You did a splendid work on that one...a magnificent piece of music indeed. So haunting and inspiring...Listening to it is like dreaming...
i played this song once on the internet through my microphone and people were enthralled with how beautiful it was. None of them guessed it was Enya singing it or that it came from the movie Lord of the Rings. I loved it because it is like you are in a dream and everything is in slow motion. It is my favorite song from Lord of the Rings
this song is acctually called Aniron and Evenstar is a different song. This Is Absolutely Beautiful Though. I sing it in singing but would never be able to match this. love the video. xx
This is such a beautiful video. It's just lovely. One of my favorite passages from the score and you put the images together so well to the music...especially the beginning when you see the close up of Aragorn's face. Caught my heart! x
Me too by far. There is so many places in the trilogy that is so emotional for me. I think the music has alot to do with it. It wouldn't be half as emotional without the great music.
Can anybody help me? I'm looking for a track from Lord of the rings - The Two Towers.. Hi! Not sure but in the related videos bit on the right there's a vid called " The Two Towers - 08- Evenstar" which I think might be it... hope this helps! :)
The song is called evenstar. each movie has a beautiful slow song, the one from the fellowship is Aniron, from the two towers it's Evenstar, and from the return of the king it's twilight and shadow.
This is the council of Elrond, NOT Evenstar

Must be "Gilraen", because the scene is called "Gilraen's grave".
Heowa 1 year ago
@TheElmoShow1 If you pause it, it translates as Gilraen, who was Aragorn's mother and brought him up in Rivendell.
