From what I see on your videos. You take more care in food safety than all most all other food meat plants that I have been into.
I do understand Listera is everywhere. It comes from the different animal Fecies we walk through everyday. Birds, rodents, cats, dogs on your grass and side walks.
Good thing they took quick action, when it comes out that all of Ontario, and most of Canada, is now infected it will be seen that Maple Leaf's quick settlement was a financial brainstorm. Who will be on the hook to clean up the infection of New Variant Listeria that is now growing in refridgerators, hospitals and processing plants. Already Ontario hospitals are seeing increased numbers of food poisoning cases which they are simply treating with no thought of identification.
Listeria has traveled to refridgerators and countertops throughout Canada from the infected meat at MapleLeaf. That infection is now in homes industries and institutions, on the very cutting boards of Canadians. MapleLeaf was unable to eradicate the bacterium and had to remove and replace all equipment. The same has not been done for homes hospitals and industry. Ontario and Canada now suffer from untenable levels of listeria in the common environment. Do you eat food in or from Canada?
I work at Maple Leaf Foods (Schneiders plant 321 Courtland Ave E Kitchener Ontario Canada) During the weekend of Jan31 and Feb1 two foremans were caught having sex in a sterilized dept during their shifts. John Aspen and Kelly deBarros have been suspended. When the syringe casing was found back in 2006 we received new training thanks to public knowledge of the incident. The Listeria outbreak was a direct result of behavior like this and a lack of concern for health and safety.
Listen Here. Michael McCain is a good man, took this event to heart. The company took immediate steps to get the product off the shelves. It was the FASTEST product recall in history. Maple Leaf did what NO other company has EVER done, he openly admitted that Maple Leaf was to blame before there was legal action. He is not to blame. One of the 23,000 people he employs messed up. NO ONE! Can say that they have never slacked off or screwed up.
We should stop hitting on Maple Leaf, they employ 23,000 people, people with families. I know its fun to bash on big corporates but think of the small ordinary people who work there. Its sad what had happened with deaths but that could have EASILY have been another company.
Let me guess??you work for them!I am pretty sure if someone you know died from this your opinion would be different..and if it not that would make you a cocksucking loser!!
well i hope they get shut down... bunch of lazy asses should of being doing that in the first place... only time they (and this goes for all food service) get there head out of there asses is when they kill people because of their laziness!!
He contends his 23,000 employees live in a culture of food safety and have an unwavering commitment to keeping your food safe. I allege that is an outright false statement of fact, and I hold documentary proof of such. Maple Leaf does have a propensity for permitting their companies operations to perform with actionable negligence, all in the name of saving a buck, and in this case that buck was at a cost of human life.

C.Black knew he was stealinf & it's not comparable. This was an accident, unfortunate & careless but not planned to kill consumers. I feel bad for the people & their families. My mom bought some the tainted deli meat but due to a power outage all fridge contents were thrown out, if not we would have certainly eaten it. People like to put in their 2 cents worth of nasty comments. This is the only outbreak in MLF's almost 100 yrs. Since this occured, it's been cheese & mushrooms!
it was on the news... maybe it was mr. sub... but i do know they supplied alot of meat to alot of food establishments... but i think i heard it on ctv news... i will find out for sure ...
courage to admit their mistake actually increased maple leaf sales afterwards

Technically, the first product recall was The Flood...
