So you can just download the games as apps straight to your ps3, through that usb hard drive you were using. So its kinda like jailbreaking your ipod??

yup true,but downloading ps3 games can take up to 3 days or more and there is not confirmation it will work,the best way is to get your games from a gamestore which sells ps3 ,they will be selling this item discreetly.(;
