The reason why pantera was so great is partialy because dimebag's guitar and vinnie's drums synched perfectly. Dimebag's riffs were the heart and vinnies drums were the soul.

And that was perfected with Phil's vocals..

The drum kit Vinnie uses on Far Beyond Driven is the best sounding metal kit I've heard. That sound is perfect for metal.
